Please allow for revival items to be used in Wilderness-akin worlds

This is, of course, putting Telltale hearts aside.

This is a VERY old idea of mine I want to have looked at again, with the introduction of Wendy's altar.

The idea is very simple, I'd like to have the ability to optionally use self revival items in Wilderness, or worlds with ghosts disabled.
This would mean that they'd function nigh-identical to how they did in single player! Instead of being spat to the character select screen, you'd be popped out of whichever item you're attuned to, or, if wearing an amulet, revived on the spot, like in DS.

This would let those revival items have some functionality in these worlds, AND give players a last-ditch effort to preserve where they're at if they die. Entirely optional, too.
I'd love to be able to use my LGA to revive during a boss fight in a wilderness world, instead of being booted all the way back to the surface menu. I don't feel this would detract from the die-and-retry nature of those worlds any more than they would in DS. Could be a world setting, if desired, too.

There's an example here. Both revival items are attuned and neither do anything in this instance.

 

Huh, my 11k days old world is wilderness bound, I never even tried to use any means to revive characters as I knew from the start a death would mean a character switch starting fresh (I kind of liked that idea back then). The only problem was/is wilderness worlds have no florid postern, I don’t know if that’s still a thing with all the option changes. Nowadays I just change the options if I want to turn into a ghost, haven’t tried reviving myself either with that change but I know Winona’s skill to be revived by Charlie works regardless of options, curious if anything else works that way or not.
Wilderness is meant to be like that though… I agree if I'm not bound to be revived by any means if it’s not my choice to do so, and if it isn’t going to change the whole purpose of Wilderness option, then I don’t see a problem with that.

By the way I'm just preaching for this identical idea to be implemented without any twists from Klei. It would suck if they decided to randomly attune characters to be revived regardless of choice for wilderness worlds.

Yeah! Ideally, this wouldn't be imposed or forced onto anyone in a world. The idea is that it merely just gives someone to option to have a fall-back without being reset to square-1 in wilderness like worlds (Or worlds with just ghosts disabled!) and nothing else changes!
