My Girlfriend With 250 Hours In This Game Gave Me Her Character Main Stereotypes

She just reached 250 hours and has never played on public servers. I have no idea where she would have gotten the ideas for most of these, since she has never actually met people who main most of these. Regardless, I figured it could be fun to post this here.

Note: It goes without saying that these are not based on any actual data and are essentially just her guessing what the people who play that character would be like. If the one for your main offends you in any way, please understand that it's just made up and just a joke. No actual experiences meeting people who main these characters was used in these descriptions. Simply put, they are probably not accurate, but fun to see nonetheless.

• Wilson: "Nerdiest of the nerd-emoji people pick Wilson... the craziest nerds"
• Willow: "Any goth/emo/ guy or girl"
• Wolfgang: "2nd nerdiest people, and those people only play strategy games outside of DST. They never touch first person shooters"
• Wendy: "They play her solely because of lore... which makes sense because she has really fantastic lore"
• WX-78: "I don't think anyone truly mains WX. They play them, but don't main them. If you do, you take the game seriously and are dedicated"
• Wickerbottom: "You are very calm and chill, likely a student. I don't think there is such thing as a mean Wickerbottom main
• Woodie: "You don't take the game seriously, ever. You just go with the flow. Not in a bad way, he's a great character. However, when something goes wrong, you panic. 'Uh oh...' is your signature line"
• Wigfrid: "Definitely a band/theater kid. Very loud, but also very passionate. The type of people to give you song recommendations when you didn't ask and don't care about the song genre"
• Webber: "An absolute bug child. As a child, you loved collecting bugs. You like to play as 'the creatures' in videogames. You do not care what anyone says"
• Wes: "They are just happy dudes. They understand that sometimes it's funny to be less favored, and so you do it anyways. Fixation on balloons "
• Maxwell: "You're the type of person to favor villains over heroes. You think misunderstood characters are so much more interesting. Likely have an ego of some sort, whether it be game knowledge or something else. Not narcissistic though"
• Winona: "You just like the 'builder' characters. That's about it. They tend to be kind, but are more introverted"
• Warly: "You either play him because you love cooking IRL, or you really like his short. You would NEVER eat grilled cheese without tomato soup. Very picky and quietly judgmental"
• Wortox: "You think that you are edgy for some reason. You're just an average dude though"
• Wormwood: "You just like doing chores. You are either part of the oldest people who play the game, or part of the youngest people who play the game. You are really happy though. A homebody who just likes to chill. They have a lot of pets"
• Wurt: "I have no idea why, but I associate people who play her as members of the LGBTQ+ community, or allies. They are happy and kind and they love flowers. I can imagine their room is full of plants and flowers. Oddly more than Wormwood"
• Walter: "They are nitpicky and they correct you on everything. They think that they know more than they actually do. They also really like dogs. I don't know why, but I associate them with collecting things"
• Wanda: "Very independent. I don't know why, but I feel like they love puzzles and love building those marble run mazes. They also love cats. They are also left handed"

It's strange to see Webber have many fans in DST community but at the same time the forum here implies xenophobia.

Almost got me right, I don't care about "misunderstood" villains. I like the villains that have been understood perfectly like bill cipher.

Hates doing chores, and 27 (so i'd say middle of the pack). The last 3 sentences are correct though. I am mostly happy, I am a homebody who likes to chill at home, and I have 2 cats that I love dearly with all my heart. More than any human.

Warly: I do like cooking in real life, I do like his short, I am picky, and I do quietly (or sometimes not so quietly) judge people. However, I am not a big fan of tomato soup. Four out of five isn't bad, though.

Can confirm about Wendy. Her lore/character is absolutely the thing keeping me attached to the survivor, and is what really drives me to improve with her rather than switch to an easier character.

And I WILL be taking blessed sisturn 3 even if it's a strict downgrade.

I like mostly villains that's true but I don't make a difference between a fictional villain being missunderstood or pure evil. I just love fictional stories with negative content, bad endings, questionable personalities and villains are kind of automatically a part of those.

(also I mostly prefer their character design)

Nuh huh, since im nitpicky I have to correct this mistake. Im a cats person and I dislike dogs quite a lot, specially small ones since they are always so hecking aggresive for no reason (ignoring Woby of course, shes my beloved)

I'm not particularly good at discussing these more casual topics, but they do indeed provide a sense of relaxation. I really enjoy that many of my friends choose different characters to play the game. They might have all sorts of in-game interactions, or they might share some character-based jokes (like “Pure deer person, doesn't know what positioning is.” / “I'm a potato person, and as long as I hold down F, I'm the strongest”).

In short, the essence of DST lies in the coexistence of different characters. I hope DST can become better. Over the past two years, I've felt a sense of panic that this game, which has brought me nearly a decade of joy, seems to be becoming more and more embarrassing. I hope all of this can change in the new year.
