I saw it coming, but also I’m heavily Indian heritage on both my mom and my dads side so sometimes I just feel and sense things most people would find “abnormal” I’m not psychic (I don’t think.. lol) But I just have this ability to know things I shouldn’t so I’m genuinely not surprised.

I don't have any indian heritage (atleast I don't think so?) but I've been able to do the same thing, feeling things that others find odd to know, the closest thing to a reason I've found is me being neurodivergent -_-

Sure, but Wortox also consumes less armor than any character besides Wanda

it's true that Wanda doens't consume nearly any armor, but the armor most people use for her (night armor) is rather expensive so while you don't consume much armor, you'll still have to gather a lot of resources for it (well, unless you can kite well)

Sure, but Wortox also consumes less armor than any character besides Wanda. It's not about healing, it's about kiting. He just doesn't take damage and even when he does, he can just heal it without any significant prep that he wouldn't do otherwise.

I don't remember the hidden perk that makes Wortox lose less armor durability or the one that makes souls heal armor durability. I don't get this part.

It's not really a problem. Hell, I usually make myself insane intentionally as soon as possible for a Shadow Manipulator. You actively need Nightmare Fuel early on and by time you don't, you can just use a Tam or even a Top Hat, or just pick flowers if you need to get rid of Nightmares in a pinch. Non-Naughty builds can also actively heal their own sanity too. Passive positive auras do a lot more for Wortox than other characters due to the reduced drain on negative auras. It's proportionally more significant. Also, I don't think calling post-rifts late game is accurate. It's not very difficult to dedicate your first 25 days to ruins -> Shadow Pieces -> Fuelweaver, and Wortox himself needs a lot less prep and can do a lot of this quicker than many other characters. By time rifts open on day 30ish, you haven't even killed Deerclops yet. But even at a slower pace of day 41 or 61 Shadow Pieces, you can make a Top Hat on day 1 and get a Tam on day 21 and put a stop to the sanity issues. I think this is just par for the course for a character you pay for, though, and I think it's good to have characters that require better game knowledge and learned problem solving skills. I also don't really think Wortox was initially designed with new players in mind, kinda the same way as Wanda or Wormwood.

I mean on my last world I had rifts open on day 16 but it's probably not a good idea to assume you or I overly prioritizing rushing rifts is the norm for 90% of the fanbase to whom this skill tree should also appeal. Most people aren't gonna be doing that for a good few years. That said I did not say him going insane in day-to-day life was my issue, it's just bringing more sanity food to... fuelweaver. While not playing nice wortox. And being bad at using enlightened crown.
Those alone are more of an inconvinience than most of the cast's downsides, to me. Otherwise I'd be using clothing to cope with the daily -5/min anyway, which is always inevitably, inavoidably the lion's share of anyone's sanity loss, ever.

Also, I'm a Batbat enjoyer myself, but Jelly Beans used to be great too. I still use it even in the beta until I have the time to get jars set up after Fuelweaver.

Chad behavior but the sanity drain on Wortox is not something I'd ever want to deal with. Most of the time I am doing any boss early on I don't even have the luxury of starting the fight at >30% sanity

Please, ugh, don't bring up Maxwell. He's not the standard we should strive for. We all hate him, even players like me who gave him a lot of playtime post rework. In fact, my playtime with him made me hate him even more. I would rather see Maxwell get fixed than anyone else get buffed to his level of broken. Infinite trapping is just... why.

LMAOOOOO fair, not like even an elastispacer'd jar could make Wortox comparable to him anyway.

I kinda want them to fix the skin issue while we're at it.
I reported this bug long time ago, but for some reasons Gloves tend to ignore the skin color presented by the head.
Also: TAIL SLOT is still my dream ;-;

Even Wormwood disgusted by those pea-colored fingers (not that he had any fingers to begin with)

Hello Everybody,

We have decided to extend the beta for the next update until January so that we have more time for upcoming additions for Walter and further updates to the Wendy Skill Tree.

With the holidays approaching, we feel that it would be better to wait until we are back from the break and working at full capacity during the release of the update so we can ensure it launches smoothly and give it our full attention.

Wendy and Walter are not quite where we want them yet. We want to make some aesthetic improvements for Wendy and the Woby part of Walter needs time to be fleshed out a bit more. So we have a hotfix we want to get out this week and then we will have another beta hotfix in the new year.

We do still have a small Winter’s Feast update that we want to get out for you that will be released next Thursday since that work is separate from the skill tree beta and it isn’t affected by the delay.

There will be a Beta Hotfix tomorrow with adjustments that we want to get out before the holidays. More details on that update will come out with the patch notes tomorrow.

With that hotfix, we will continue gathering feedback to help us determine what else we want to address before releasing the update for everybody.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause. We appreciate your patience while we give this the time we believe it needs.

And finally, Don’t Starve Together would not be what it is without the love and support from the community. However, please remember that while we do not generally respond to suggestions and feedback posts individually, we do try to make our best effort to show our appreciation by responding to that feedback through our specific updates and patch notes. Not all players see the game in the same way and we have to try to balance our vision with the passion of all of our community. We hope that when the dust settles on this update, everybody will get to see exactly how much this matters to us, and the game.

As always, thank you for all of your feedback and support.

Does this mean winter's feast update and skill tree update will have two separate twitch drops and reward links? Or will only winter's feast have that?

the recent Hallowed Night event/holiday gave a Halloween-theme chest and 03 skins when you log in. I imagine it would be the same with the Winter's Feast event/holiday. The skill tree launch is a full-fletch update so I guess there will be Twitch Drop(s).

I do wonder what tomorrow's hotfix will include. At the very least, I hope my Team Spirit suggestions were considered; making the skills more usable to the broader playerbase might be the missing piece of the puzzle for at least partially improving Abigail's survivability and utility.

For wendy, i assume we get balance changes for the new items, and the promised look at headstones and team spirit. I could also see blessed sisturn getting changes bc that skill is wak

7 minutes ago, Fitzee said:

No certainty that Klei looked in my direction for item balance changes, but a fair amount of people seem to like the suggestions I've made for the Wraith Wreath.

I hope mine are considered too. I dont think the wreath will ever truly be viable as a combat item without making it ludicrously broken.

I suspect theyll implement your second set of Team Spirit changes to some extent though.

The alternate action button prompt hotkey may be the most likely; if it's the more advanced version I recently included, I'm hoping they do the button-binding suggestion I made for controllers too.

But I hope they implemented a dodge command for Abigail alongside the hotkey, either as its own skill or a further tweaked Team Spirit I.

I imagine thays what ts1 is trying to be but yes.

I don't wanna be annoying but why wasn't Willow and Wigfrid skilltrees delayed the same time a year ago, with obviously unfinished(still is) Sharkboi? Because Wendy has bigger player base?
Please always take your time with them! And please, release skins with not being tied to updates so we can support the game with money, really!!

Have nice holidays!

That is just unrealistic, skill trees were a big mistake because we already had refreshes and while this polishes the characters and makes them better we are missing out on more impactful updates available to all characters. Why should developers focus more on characters that don't have a big playerbase? It really doesn't seem logical to do so.

Don't get me wrong, I quite like the skill trees but it takes away from development of new content that could've happened that everyone could enjoy.

I main Wanda and I hope her skill tree isn't going to be terrible just because she is seen as overpowered by some people that haven't played her in years and don't understand how weak she is vs planar enemies. Maxwell is in the same boat but even stronger, only thing he is lacking is teleport but his skill tree should still be decent.

5 hours ago, Fitzee said:

Unlike Winnona and Wanda, teleportation is Wortox's main gimmick; if anyone deserves to be the most efficient at it, it should be him.

He is already very good with it since he doesn't require any setup. You can't really compare Wanda and Winona to him because they have to invest a lot of time to have a more powerful teleportation ability. Also it is Wanda's main ability too and a lot of players play her because she can teleport for free across shards once you have enough tusks and thulecite fragments, there is a lot of Wanda players that don't care about damage or other clocks.

I always thought that Wortox's main ability is healing.

Yeah sorry, I just really want precise control of making Abigail dodge/kite, whether that's manually controlling her (wishful thinking) or giving her a Wheeler/Wortox/Wanda type of button (more likely); I don't want it to be completely reliant on my own movement, even if I have to spend a skill point or two for the luxury.

Oh I want it desperately too. Praying they get itnworking tmrrw.

Any particular reason you quoted me and not the person who initially made the comparison?

Because your reply was shorter and I can respond to it quite fast while expressing my opinion without making writing something long like a page or two that most people will not read because it is too long which is what I usually do.

I don't think the post was expressed clearly because of the strange translation. What I drew was not a ghost, but Gestalt Abigail,It is the effect of Wendy's longing and the power of the moon,I don't want it to be just a bubble like it is now

The painting is very vivid and beautiful!

画得很生动,好看!

I wish the other skill trees got this ammount of care... i think wendy got enough and you are listening to feedback that goes against your designs. You dont have to obey to every single piece of feedback

If wendy needs more work what will happend with wortox, woodie, wormwood, wigfrid, winona, wolfgang and wilson? How will you treat the future skill trees? What will happend with the balance of the game? The balance in general is going bananas with mechanics like hiring mobs being an overkill or planar enemies being too weak because of the huge planar damage from characters (or how the -25% debuff was basically removed with the mix damage from the rifts)

A lot of people is complaining about wendy because they want a very easy experience but also a lot of people is leaving the game because of how unrewarding is getting beat the game with such powers.... maybe is time to stop listening to both parts and add more difficulty settings so everybody is happy

I applaud you, my friend, for saying something like this despite so many people’s opinions.

They specified Wendys changes are mainly aesthetics so this isnt really founded in much...

Sure she'll probably get a fewmore buffs to her tree along the way but shes still far from a broken character, and there's nothing to indicate thats what she'll become.

Are you really going to begrudge people wanting something more powerful than "make new gravestones, but only on skeletons, when you can already move gravestones for free"

That isnt "please make wendy broken" thats "please give skills relevant uses." There is a crowd that wants wendy broken, but considering the limits placed on the super potions, the nerfs to gesalt abby and removal of flower shroud, I really dont see how the devs are acquesising to that, or compromising their vision.

The only thing that bugs me about this is im a console player so I can't really access the content easily through the beta

I do have a PC but I prefer to play on console (Xbox)

Is it Possible to get the beta branch onto Xbox for future updates possiblely through xbox insider program app it could be a way to switch between the two versions like with other games that allow xbox beta tests) I'm not sure about the specifics but it would be an interesting idea.

Either way you guys take your time so that the content feels right.

Like an elixir (costing forget-me-lots) that lets you instantly restore Abi to her full power, or what?

How about AoE fear? Greater control over Abi's movement? Haunting mushrooms, spiders, and rabbit dens without being dead? Meat effigy without beard hair? What satisfies the unsatisfiable? You can't just focus on the few impractical skills on a strong character and keep calling for more.
