Stupid question... But what does everyone actually want with wendy

Is a cooldown even neccessary for Haunt?

Not really, no. It is weird how that action shares the same cooldown as Abigail's other new abilities when haunted entities already have their own cooldown.

I think this is indeed an issue about Refreshed Wendy, but blame the Pipispook rather than the player - it's a minigame separate from Don't Starve's main game cycle.

Just as most Wolfgang players don't like gym minigame, if players enjoy fighting with Abigail, they're less likely to enjoy help Pipispook.

I imagine the graves and pipspook skills were intended to alleviate this, but idk.

I imagine its just a leftover fragment of copying the vase code of team spirit.

You may be a master of Wendy. I guess you think the situation is still acceptable. You can proudly speak out that even Klei continue to nerf Wendy, you can still handle all the problems. However, for most of the Wendy Player, the first thing before fighting a boss is unsummon Abi, cause it's impossible for them to protect Abi while fighting. Beefalo can no longer help Wendy since there are so many knockbacks. Once she gets hit and falls of the beefalo, the hilarious scene will show up: Save Abi? Save beefalo? Or save Player itself if they are not wearing a helmet?

Asking if you could drop the bond bell far from the location of the fight so in case you get knocked down, your precious beefalo could run away safely? Now you fight as only Wendy and Abi.

Usually, unless it is specifically marked as a slow-paced on server title, Chinese players usually progress very quickly, even with only two to three players. Because the number of Chinese people is too large, there are billions practices, they have the optimal solution to clear the game thanks for internet-develpment.

I'm not a fan of "fast food", I don't like Shadow Line purely adding damage numbers to Abigail.

I still hope that devs can create more interesting and novel mechanisms for Abigail as she used to be human girl, like help farming something.

This is why gestalt Abby exists! and this is also where i agree with most players, Gestalt Abigail was overnerfed sadly, i hope they can get her up to the same level as shadow abby so people can enjoy both alignments as they please.

@Tranoze could source the poll please, but there is data to support the idea that a large number of people dont use potions.  Such as @Lee Sy, who anecodtally says they and their friends dont use them.

16 people voted, 8 people rarely use potions, 2 people sometimes use potions and 6 people use potions regularly.

Small sample size, but it certainly wiuld be worth remaking the poll, especially now theres kore attention. Maybe add a question of why not (pipspook, dislikes potions, think theyre weak, etc)

Don't be stereotyped. First, Wendy players like to let Abigal solo boss, and now Wendy players like to buy skins but don't collect potions? All of these are unfounded accusations. We have been saying that we just want Wendy and Abigail to fight together, but Gesstal can't do it well now, and her survivability has been weakened too much.

I didn't say it, did you maybe see the comment where someone said they asked other people and half said they dont use potion?

I didn't say it lol

If I have to collect spiribirds to beat a monster, I'm not going to complain that it's too difficult (because those hunts are generally very fun), but I will complain that collecting spiribirds feels arbitrary and boring.

Replace spiribirds with pipspooks and the argument's about the same. I also felt this way about collecting embers with Willow tho, just my opinion.

Ye you make that, or ask @GetNerfedOn make a potion poll for wendy.

Have you tried this? It's a 25% chance to turn a pigguard into a werepig, and they *will* counterattack Abigail for trying it. I think moonstorms / moonbook + spamming pig houses is still your best bet for a pigskin farm.

Haven’t tried it yet since I haven’t gotten the set piece (though I do have it on my main world, so I’ll be able to try it out when the update goes live). I did consider the counterattacking, but I think I might be able to get around it with other skills/enough potions and I’ll be bringing some friends as a distraction. I’m also still hoping that Klei might increase the chance of a successful haunt and it won’t be as much of a problem.

Moon storms and lunar grimoire are not possible on my multiplayer servers right now (I’m trying not to rush my friends and we have no Wickerbottom), so I’m just exploring other ideas! Though I think spamming pig houses would probably be better for a solo Wendy anyways (or just setting up an auto farm).

The problem is knockbacks become so common that the beefalo almost equals to have only 1 hp. And if i ride a beefalo, i usually won't bring helmet and weapons.

Willow has a powerful ember factory, which can collect a large amount of embers in a very short time.

Omg you're right this is clicking a few things for me.

Is this what's causing the desperarity between Wendy players???

A lot of them seem to really like collecting skins for her or something. Makes sense why some people want Abigail to be able to kill bosses solo or why they think Abigail is built like wet paper.

Didn't you say that? If we like to buy skins for Wendy, it doesn't mean that we like to let Abigal be the boss alone, nor does it mean that we can't use the potion. I see that you have said similar things many times, saying everywhere that Wendy players want Abigail to solo, boss, please don't distort other people's intentions at will,This will only aggravate the chaos here.

I feel like there is a huge difference between spiribirds on rise and embers/mourning glories, Spiribird are from monster hunter rise, an action packed game that focuses on fights and spectacle, these are really unfun to do because they are driving you away from the action for no real reason other than some % buffs.

Mourning glories and Embers are different because DST is an adventure/survival game its not about rushing every single boss by day 60, its about being with your friends, making a pretty base, finding reliable ways to get food and useful items etc, also mourning glories give access to very diverse potion effects, such an insane Abigail speed, consistent damage, instant revive and full healing. Embers do the same as they give you ammunition for your powerful spells, i dont think you can compare risebreak spiribirds with collectables from a survival game lol.

Well, do you still think DST is a survival game in 2024?

I mean it not worthwhile in a solo fight. Ofcourse if you already spend days building beehives, or have your friends building them for you, which still take them days, it fair to have 20 bees ready in 1 mins.

building bee boxes is giga worth i just wanna say that it produces the best food source in the game that you get just from existing lol
you realize you can just catch random stray moleworms that you find, no bug net needed...
playing around with wendy i realized that they and rabbits are the most convenient mobs to murder, as they do not require a bug net and 1 mob gives a long lasting enough boost not just for day to day situations but also some boss fights like the mutated bosses
you can also make your own butterflies and catch a couple for more major bosses where you'd want the murder buff 24/7 like dragonfly
the amount of damage wendy outputs is pretty absurd

It is pretty much an adventure game yes. Nothing is really forcing you to get everything done by day 70 you know? a lot of people kinda just like screwing around with their friends and having fun, having some collectibles for me to work on the mean time while my friends do something else just makes everything less boring for me, gives me a thing to do.

People aren't complaining about the pipspooks though, not from what ive seen, they're complaining that abi is wet tissue paper.

People go as far as calling the pipspook skills unrelated?

Which is my point. And I'm wondering if that's the root of the problem, and one I've ONLY now just found out.

Your point is fair, I just wasn't talking about whether the mechanic itself is arbitrary. Maybe it is. I'm just wondering if people arnt interacting with it.

People can play the game for whatever reason they want. Personally I play DST for the bosses, I very rarely decorate or play multiplayer at all even tho those were the first 2 things you said DST was about.

So for me personally, they are comparable. For you they might not be, and that's perfectly fine. I'm just trying to say I don't find the process of collecting mourning glories and embers to be enjoyable.

I use them, but they’re situational, you’ll likely only use them during a boss fight, or an extremely long frog rain.. but because you can’t apply two potions at once- They’re slightly… how do I say this boring?

Like for example Vigor Mortis is used to speed up Abigail’s following speed so she stays closer to Wendy, Or it can be haunted when your a dead ghost in order to float around faster.. but I don’t think I’ve ever seen ANYONE actually use this potion.

And if they have, they likely weren’t doing it on an Xbox.. we are extremely hindered by console controller limitations, we can not just drag and drop things while also still walking and participating in combat.

As a result, Wendy’s gameplay becomes either stand at a safe distance out of battle and apply potions to Abigail to buff her, OR only use a handful of potions that are actually decent to use, and then assist Abigail with fighting.

I despise the Vigor Mortis potion..

If it’s purpose is meant to make Abby move around faster during a boss fight, then it serves the same purpose as escape & dash or Dismiss?

I don’t know.. I’m confused, but what vigor Mortis should be able to do is work like Wes speedy balloons (probably also lasting about as long as his balloons do too so it’s not unbalanced)

I think the potion I actually use is mostly Nightshade Nostrum. But even that can be ignored completely if your playing at a time of game your world like Winter where days are short and nights last forever.

Do they have a different shadow buff duration?

they arent stackable is the issue, but each mob is 8s of double damage on abigail, that is a pretty servicable amount of time
i suppose you could probably murder two in a row if you wanted to?
