When Wortox was first being released, Edgy Rick made a conscious push to try to convince as many content creators as he could to lie about and dismiss Wortox as much as possible, because he was mad that RTGame was (accidentally) given access to Wortox 1 day earlier than Rick was. No the hell he was not right about anything he had to say in a literal smear campaign he started because he was mad about an entirely fake scenario he made up of Klei valuing other content creators more than him. He literally would talk about how all DST content creators needed to join a group effort to make Klei lose money until they made it up to him by giving him new updates early. Please do not romanticize Edgy Rick or pretend that he was ever correct about anything, even as a "joke".

Posts like this will always lose credibility to me when they post someone else's work to push their narrative. That person has a lot of skill in the game and i would make sure I could replicate, and make my own video, before I start using someone's work to push my propaganda.

This is exactly why I hate Twitch Streamers and Youtubers, freaking Publicity starved drama stirs that’s all they are.

Fun Fact- last time I Twitch streamed was over 8 years ago & during that time, I never showed my face on camera or used a headset, or even would chat in the stream chat, if you tuned into MY streams all you would get is my (probably horrible) gameplay and the sounds from the game itself.

But in todays dawn of screwed up society, you can’t even stream games like that anymore because something something copyright laws on music blah blah whatever.

Anyway, point is streaming used to be FUN, now it’s just conspiracy theories, people trying to make a name for themselves, ripping off each others videos and content.

And don’t even get me started on game reviews where they all copy the exact same thing another review said.

Just to chime in on this, I hate how so many people in game communties either assume you watch streamers or just tell you to go watch a YouTube video. Is it easier? Maybe. But it leads to entire online communities that don't know why to do something, just that it works and a lot of parroted opinions that could be downright wrong but get repeated because XxPro_duderxX said it and he's got tons of views.

Honestly it's sometimes scary how much influence they have on people's gameplay loops. For example the idea you should never sleep or pick flowers was deeply ingrained into people for quite a long time to the point even people crying for heals wouldn't sleep or dying from nightmares wouldn't pick flowers

There's technicalities when it comes to this, gameplay videos containing osts shouldn't get copyright strikes, though this does vary between productions and rights holders.
You are able to stream licensed music (be it in a game or not) during a stream, however this can get your saved stream taken down/have the infringing material cut out. I'm not super certain how streaming sites like Twitch do (or rather don't) settle this.
On Youtube videos you should obviously take out copyrighted material, however keeping material in does not guarantee the video will be taken down, rather that one will probably lose on monetization and only possibly have it restricted based on the copyright owner's wishes.
Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Idk if the title is bait or sarcastic or whatever, but that video is from Ameslarii, that person is a ******* pro and can pull strats few of us can, even when it comes to "veterans" in the game. I know a couple "Wortox mains" and all of them are really, really good players. But I think not one of them could pull this off and even if they were capable of doing it I dont think its a strat that they will enjoy doing it.

And Edgy Rick was such a brainless guy, I honestly cant believe some people took him seriously, he was the average Wolfgang main, a tierlist nerd that was constantly trashing other characters because daddy Wolfgang hits harder, constantly talking about how pro he was and that the game was "too easy", when he was playing the "easy mode" character of the game lmao.

The same YouTuber Killed Dragonfly Day 3 using Wendy with Football helmets and a Hambat without walls... What's the issue?

Ameslarii is a super pro DST player and what he did in this video is by no means easy to do. If anyone thinks Wortox is now OP because of this video, please log into the game and try to do it yourselves.

I really hope this is not taken into consideration to nerf Wortox, tbh. I think trying to master something like this, is far more interesting than the whole knabsack grind.

Anyone else look at the video and come to the conclusion that this actually looks harder to do than a lot of other strategies? Dude had shadow creatures on him and had to manage killing regular bees in the middle of the fight and was constantly overloading. Any mistake could have caused him to be animation-locked into overloading, and then stunlocked to death.

It cant be more stupid than giving voice  for one of the most toxic teenagers we had in the whole history of DST comunity as calling him right for say that a 2700 spools character is pay to win.

You can get those spools  in like 4 months depending on how much updates we have. It has free links everywhere. Halloween with chests and everything. Augh.

You also need multiple killer bee hives to spawn close to bee queen. I think I'd usually still stick to Wortox's fence strategy.

I don't think that the soul pierce itself is not that much OP. Surely OP for some bosses that summon rather weak minions like Bee Queen and Ancient Fuelweaver, but not that much useful beside these cases, not even that much OP'ed with AFW in my opinion. Also, this method requires some Killer Bee Hives beside BQ remain.

My conclusion is that it is super useful for some cases, but not that useful in general.

Tbh this seems easier though it would probably need far more prep for the average person considering they're probably not attack canceling it's always something to consider when talking about how op a character is.

Edgy Rick was a Don't Starve youtuber before Tencent announced collaboration with Klei. He would often make tier lists and videos explaining the weakness and uselessness of many characters. Keep in mind this was before Willow's refresh so it was a long time ago.  He left the community in protest of Tencent(not sure if he actually stood his ground on that decision, I certainly haven't heard from him). 

He was just a guy who said "willow sucks, Wendy sucks, Wilson sucks, this item sucks, Woodie sucks because he gains sanity from planting stuff and you want to be insane 24/7 so you can get more Dark Swords, ruins rushing day 1 is mandatory." etc.

People hated him, but honestly I don't think some of the things he said in the context of years and years ago was entirely wrong.
