Let Rock Lobsters wear hats!

Not sure a whole lot of folks picked up on this, but as of this last update, rock lobsters were giving animation compatibility with hats! 

Whilst its technically under the cover changes for the new masked mobs, it does extend to general gameplay. Just not fully enabled.
So that's it, that's my request!

Rock Lobsters are another mob you can befriend and enlist for your cause, being able to give them top hats and armor would be a dream. It even works if you force it a bit. Look at this, isn't this awesome!?

Well, they spawn always on your screen's edge if you go faster than them

 

I wish klei remove the decay mechanic from cloths in mobs..

Huh, when did that happen? I am using ancient knowledge though back when Rock Lobsters came out during the Caves Beta. haven't ever interacted with them much besides saying Hi since.

All allied followers have a mechanic where they will teleport to you right outside of your view range if you are too far away. Rock lobsters follow suit, though them being the slowest does still mean they could need a small trek to make it to your position. I remember it in particular back when the ancient guardian strat in DS was to recruit a bunch of lobsters and make it right before the guardian arena for the lobsters to easily smash it.

what if we could petrify clothing to remove its effects but also its durability with the shadow spritz

I dont think such obscure mechanics are necessary.  Mobs dont get benefits from clothing so it makes sense they last forever since is just an unused decorative feature. Unused because the cost of replacing the hats

I would too, but it is by no means a new idea and yet Klei hasn't implemented it, so I can only assume there's some principal behind it. A lot of hotly requested features like wildfires or brightshades sucking less or better storage tend to be solved by Klei via new content rather than changes to base content, so I figure it's probably better to suggest something more in that direction.

Maybe because isnt a priority like the other stuff you mentioned and might take more time than other non important suggestions

Well the "simple" version would literally just involve adding a field to every hat determining whether or not only players can degrade it, and then a couple of if statements for each degredation function. It isn't particularly complex and even the worst case scenario of an unbreakable hat or light source wouldn't be gamebreaking

I long for the days of REign of Giants where you could bring them to the surface with a mere flint and they would mass reproduce and blanket the world such that you could just run to them and give them flint if anything except for Dragonfly even so much as decided to breathe
