There's a new Mimic Mob/Chest that can seemingly possess the Shadow Atrium. Don't have the full details yet though.

I hope they add an animation of this thing eating you with your feet sticking out kicking and then when your inside it you have like a short trying to break free animation (like getting frozen over in ice) it would be hilarious!

I really like these adiditions, the new shadowthrall has probably become my new favourite enemy in the game if i am completly honest.

Sawhorse change was completly unexpected and extremly welcome, on this regard, could it be posible to make it so it also allowed to craft marble beans on bulk ?

The adition of the possed shadow atrium is a bit weird, I dont finish to understand what does it acomplish, not saying this in a bad way, legitemetly curious on why this mechaninc was added. I thought the whole point of making these new items cost a shadow atrium was so they were harder to get than reaper or gloomerang (needing to kill the shadow pieces multiple times) but still more accesible than the lunnar sparks. This makes the new items a lot more expensive needing to kill fuelweaber two times to spawn the mimics on the laberynth.

If this was to be changed, it could be done in an extremly easy way by just making it so when we activate the shadow rifts for the first time(when we give the dreadstone to the shadow hand), ornary chests spawn within that regen of the ruin.

Also seems a bit weird that this item droped by such ominous beings as the shadow pieces and used to revive the ancient fuelweaber, needs to be possesed by a little goober thats barely a threat. Even comparing this quest to the mutated bosses on the lunnar side, it doesnt leave much of an impression. Maybe altering the art to make them look more menacing, or to reflect the importance they have would be welcomed.

The Sawhorse now has a crafting station filter.

Can this be looked by the team?

I would like to suggest it to follow the same logic all the others structures have.

When you can prototype, there is not a filter in the crafting menu. (examples: science machine, alchemy machine, think tank, tackle receptakle, prestihatitator, sawhorse, ect)

When you cannot prototype, there is a filter in the crafting menu. (examples: Cartographer's desk, potter's wheel, Shadowcraft Plinth, brightsmith, ect)

thx for reading.

  • Lurking Nightmare is now a pre-rifts shadow creature, getting stronger during rifts.

Can someone test in-game and confirm what this means exactly? This whole thread is full of people freaking out about the idea of it spawning from low sanity, but... this is a Lurking Nightmare, not a "Lurking Shadow". If this is consistent with the game's wording of things, it would just mean they spawn from nightmare lights and fissures before rifts, like Nightmarebeaks and Crawling Nightmares, which is how they already worked post-rifts.

That's one example. If Mike gets his way on a single suggestion without even a single iota of firsthand experience, then what the hell is the point of the beta?

What if the world suddenly collapses? It didn't happen yet but it can!

Even if this would somehow happen, how impactful to the game do you genuinely believe Mike's posts to be? He won't cause a massive game-changing feature just like most people won't. I'm certain whoever reads these forums is aware he's on console when they're taking in ideas.

If I were mike, I'd hound the devs to have a separate beta branch for consoles. Maybe he CAN contribute to the update if he could play it, but no way as an outsider looking in. It's unrealistic

I think it's unrealistic to expect betas on xbox (if they're even supported), considering there are already delays for regular updates.

There are several betas on Xbox, along with alphas, and closed alphas.

but the way Minecraft does it is there’s two different versions of the game, the public branch and then also the beta branch as separate apps.

Klei doesn’t usually stick around after a beta leaves PC to fine tune things for console after the update goes to the live branch, So I try to provide feedback and suggestions while they’re still actively tweaking it.
