But I’m just genuinely curious how you could possibly play something like Fortnite? (If you do play it) Or if you DON’T play FN, I’m curious as to how your eyes can handle game reboots/remakes/ next Gen remasters. Cause for example when Fortnite was upgraded from last Gen consoles to next Gen they also updated the game to run on a brand new game engine (which made bright colors brighter, dark colors darker etc..) I'm not entirely sure what Fortnite or these other games has to do with it, but generally there aren't many games I can't play due to them using brighter colors. I have yet to run into any other game that really causes me eyestrain with bright lights. There's a very blatant difference between a game having a brighter color scheme and a filter that turns the entire, normally fine, game into a hyper saturated Blue world. I'm able to play the game fine normally, but adding the filter on top of the game is painful and makes me not want to use that item, which I otherwise love and enjoy using. 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159417-game-update-628950/page/5/#findComment-1745301 Share on other sites
Mike23Ua
Those other games use those full screen filters though, usually when suffering certain effects, wearing an equipable item, or when toggling a certain character ability. Like for example the Night Vision in Splinter Cell Games, or the Detective Mode in Batman, Or “Templar Vision” for Assassins Creed. It's not bad, but the filter in the don't starve is made extremely nuclear. Compare Wanda's weapon DPS with the new weapons and then prove to me that she is the cannon of the game. I agree, however with the Crystal and several downsides that no other character has. This "cannon" speech is one of the most trivial things for me on this forum. The other is that Wilson cannot be improved because he is the standard of the game. And remembering that Wanda's weapon has a lower effective DPS than normal weapons, so a damage of x from it is less than the same damage of x from another weapon. Don't Starve Together 2024.08.31 - 08.46.21.01.mp4 306.06 MB · 0 downloads The problem is you're using a non-planar weapon compared to a planar one. Old Wanda does do bonus damage with void weapons just as she does with dark sword, so you should test with that. But yes, the only real downside to it is you lose the extra range you'd normally have. Oh okay I see, I’m just trying to get a better understanding of why you have such an issue with the current live branch filter as opposed to the Im assuming placeholder one that was used in beta. so something like this would be uncomfortable for you? (please don’t click the spoiler if this is going to cause you physical problems, view this at your own risk!) My friends dad had a stroke while playing Assassins creed Valhalla and now he can’t play AC games anymore. Spoiler That does bring up a ton of questions about enemy mobs that inflict you with a Status effect though- like the Skitter Squid ink blots, etc. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159417-game-update-628950/page/5/#findComment-1745313 Share on other sites

Most smaller mobs that were considered bosses have been demoted to proper miniboss status as of the beta, so the ones listed including the Lord of the Fruit Flies. This is to prevent the Shadow Maul from upgrading off of them, as there was no difference between the bosses. It's our first classification for minibosses? Not really. Again there is no line or rule that's saying that, we're supposing it via a random line code by Klei. In the game, when you play, you will never consider apart these bosses. Treeguards have still the same hp of other bosses. They still have the music, since Klei declared this rule from the beta of ds, one music for normal enemies, one for bosses and then one personal for each raid bosses/superbosses. And they have the same basic patterns and attacks of other normal bosses such as Deerclops, who is literally a glorified Treeguard. There isn't still a proper classification to define clearly this abstract thing. It's again Klei stomping his design at random without care because they added something new, without thinking of the past. If Klei will truly decide to do a new classification, with proper rules, I will approve it. Until then I will still classify treeguards and such as normal bosses, like many other players who experience the game. At least, that's how I see it. Tell me in case, if you agree or not. Kondr_
About vision-berries: I love the idea of breaking fourth wall and clearly unhealthy vision-berries hurt you (not only your character). but i do not like long-term consequences of that damage. and it is can hurt children which may not pay enough attention to it (they just want to play a game) right now i do not like the fact how flashy(suddenly? one-time? at one moment? cannot get right word) the effect turns down (and mb turns on) mb klei will give us food from berries with another color(purple?)/filter because warly still does not have his alternative. (and wigfrid) mb they will make not-so-hurtful filter and instead mess with sound somehow (reverse, mute_all, do not let your character speak) or do not let craft anything without proper station, do not let us see sanity monsters or items on ground(or mb we see them but cannot pickup) etc etc. or add some addiction like next day after effect turns of any food does not give any hunger. and mb you see how your hunger is 0 and life is draining(you see but it is not). or you do not see you stats (or see them like full) or you cannot open map, etc etc etc random effect from many? i would like sanity effects like this. block ability do turn view left (or right) as side effect and look how many times this "bug" will be reported Edited September 2, 2024 by Kondr_ 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/159417-game-update-628950/page/5/#findComment-1745409 Share on other sites

Screen brightness is indeed quite evil. I actually hate I have to turn it up (only slightly though) when playing DS or other games with that colour palette. (but then I would miss that colour palette if I changed it with a mod) Though when I play in a darkened room I don't have to adjust my screen brightness and play in a way that is less eye straining. Maybe this can help other people too? (or it is just a specific thing for me that I can see games with DS colour scheme more easily when keeping my room as dark as possible for the duration of playing. In that case, sorry that I suggested something that may be even worse for other people's eyes.) This is not comprehensive, in fact, if you turn on the "eye protection mode" of the electronic screen, you will find that the screen will become yellow at the same time of low brightness, because the blue light in the visible light is the main cause of what we usually call the "screen brightness problem" (with stronger energy so the impact is greater), and the relative yellow light is actually less influential.
