Cancel Caves Bridges

I'm pretty surprised by the content announcement today adding BRIDGES to the caves. Klei has been saying for years that "caves have walls", shown them in art, cinematics, and used it to justify things like Wanda not attacking across the void.

Why is it not all TUNNELS instead? They would make sense thematically without ruining 10 years of lore. It would give more of a place for the new depths form mini boss as something to give you a resource to create new tunnels. It would leave an upgrade path for having permanent tunnels with dreadstone reinforcement.

I feel like the initial path here doesn't make sense with the lore history of the game.

Cave walls back when they were in Don't Starve would frequently have intentional gaps that revealed the void, as if there were chasms in certain parts of the caves. This doesn't mess with the lore at all, it just means that what part of the cave has "walls" and what part has "chasms" is influenced by where the player personally chooses to build bridges.

Klei doin Klei as always, nothing new under the sun. If you're new to the party, like 2-3 years, it's not a surprise. To summarize Klei in short, they're like the kid who always eat the new made candy and proceed to the next fast, never to go look back to past things, but hey. Atleast 2019-2022 and this year are the best years because they're trying to finally starting to look back, so maybe they will take this in consideration......maybe.

How about this, The caves of DS from 2013 changed from the caves of DST in 2024 because #1 Charlie now reigns and can visibly be seen changing the appearance and size of things in the boot up animation for the game, so she could’ve removed the walls and spaced the caves apart with gaps.

Dont like that logical explanation? Fine… #2 at the start of Return of Them the freaking MOON (later revealed to be part of a Lunar Sky God) broke apart and crash landed into the ocean of DST, causing a Massive Tidal Wave, Moontated Islands out at Sea and…

The Moontated Sea Above to start leaking into the Caves to form the Lunar Grotto.. but as the Sea Continued to pour down into caves, it eroded the walls and formed gaps between areas of land.

I mean.. I could do this all night. :lol:
