Once the Moonlight Shackle is implemented, we can then get to the real meat and potatoes and demand the rest of the boss-nerf items be implemented. I for one am quite excited for the upcoming release of the pesticide for the Bee Queen, the fire hydrant for the Dragonfly, the cooking pot and boiled water for Crab King, the portable fan for Toadstool, and the Re-Shackle Shackle for NM Werepig, as well as the Shadow-Shackle for Scrappy Werepig.

It will be awesome. Finally i will be able to go work while my cats beats the game for me. Idk why klei waited that much time to add the content we and non human gamers deserve

Didn't you know it was a typo all along? The true name is the Entitled Crown since the players are supposed to obtain it automatically during the first few in-game days, preferably without exploring the sea or the map at all.

Moonlight shackle is that youuu? :wilsoalmostangelic:

I don't quite understand why everyone is so mean towards this idea / comment. If people don't want to use it [in case boss-nerf-items EVER get made by the devs] then.........just.........don't use them? Seriously there is SO much things in this game that are considered normal to use that I avoid just because I rather like suffering for fun, then why are people so angry about someone having a suggestion for another item that nobody is FORCED to use? Sorry I don't want to sound mean or something, I am just puzzled people are so hostile towards a user suggestion.

This generic argument applies to almost everything anyone wants. An example: if I ask Wolfgang to do 2000 damage in an attack with an ax, no one should go against my idea, because just don't use the character and choose another. This argument is that simple.

And if people can't disagree with something for this reason, then we can close this forum and only work with direct messages to the developers.

The reason that some people aren't willing to tolerate "just don't use it" is simple: elitism. They'd rather tell people to avoid a significant amount of the game's newer content (including non-combat content like handy tools for base building or quality-of-life features) than give those people an option that'd let them access it with less frustration. The only response they're capable of giving to valid criticisms of things they pride themselves in being able to deal with is mockery. The very concept of compromise offends them. It's an incredibly toxic mindset that pervades these forums like the miasma around a shadow rift, blocking out all hope of reasonable and productive discussion.

Quite a sad aspect of internet-mindset [or general mindset of people? I seem to struggle with seeing this pattern in every sort of people-group-situation] that I have actually hoped to escape here. Hmm....I suppose I have to live with it, and try to hope devs can find a balance between making those people happy and making the other part of people happy. SOMEHOW. (I myself don't really care for most changes to the game since I seem to have my own way too specifically weird gameplay style anyway........or use funny settings / mods. But anything that's optional is actually a possibility, because why not? WHY NOT? I doubt I would use it though, since I still avoid combat....though I really adore AFW animations so maybe I would use this particulary if it existed, just to dare to summon sheepi-skelly-guy again without feeling like having to find mods just for this situation again. Apart from that I barely care for the combat stuff, so I can live without boss-nerves too, since I just avoid them all together and still have fun with the game. But for people who WANT to use the boss content optional settings / items just sound ok. As long as they are truly OPTIONAL)

And the person who asked for the AFW nerf was the same person who said "no" to another guy's request to return the old CK by using an item on the boss.

So this ".don't use them" argument only has value when the person is interested in the change. When someone is against it, they simply say NO.

OK I didn't know that. In that case it should obviously apply to every suggestion equally that the suggestions shouldn't be ridiculed or just rejected for the sake of rejecting.

Sorry I fear you missunderstood me. I meant: Suggestions should be given a chance, and not be treated in a hostile way. That means, IF someone seriously suggested Wolfgang doing this one can give rational arguments that they should rather try to invest in learning how to mod this [sorry for console players] or find a mod for it. But what I was actually critizing was the RIDICULING part. Sorry I seemed to have worded it wrong. After all it's dev's decision in the end, and I consider them rational enough to have a good plan of what is good to be implented as an optional idea and what isn't. As I said, I don't really care for MOST changes to the game, if it was for me DST would still be stuck in the state it was BEFORE Charlie took the throne, as ridiculous as this sounds, so I try to be neutral about most stuff. I really didn't mean to make it sound like people aren't allowed to give feedback to discussions. It's just that it SEEMED to me, that people were attacking the person who suggested this item in particular. I probably missunderstood the comments a bit and took them too harsh or didn't quite understand the reason behind why they were worded this way.

Having played ALOT of RogueLites/Likes (A game genre that if people on these forums are not familiar with is heavily attached to brutal & sometimes even highly unfair difficulty..)

I can firmly say that even THOSE games give players options to choose how easy or how difficult the gameplay is going to be, both through offering various difficulty settings, and/or changing core gameplay features.

An example would be “insert bullet hell shooter here” on default settings maybe enemy projectiles move too fast for the player to react to, so there actually ARE settings to slow enemy projectile speed.

You see this kind of stuff bleed into franchises that aren’t even RogueLites/Likes!

For example anyone who has played Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2, 3, Knuckles or CD can tell you that the “Difficulty” in the game was in having a limited pool of lives or continues, but despite this… the Default game mode “Anniversary” in the Sonic Origins Collection removes the lives system and lets you continue endlessly.

Dead Rising (yes that Dead Rising…) the Original Cult Classic Game is getting ReReleased later this year for PS5 & X/S but it’s adding an “Auto-Save” feature which absolutely and completely in my opinion destroys the entire structure of the game and it’s limited saving locations in the Restrooms.

My point is that if these games can become “Broken” to be more accessible to more players- So too can DST.

Regardless of Elitism opinions.

It is a common fallacy that people employ during a discussion or argument. Typically falling under the "traitorous critic" fallacy, which is used to alienate the individual who opposes an idea rather than the actual issue itself, or something along those lines. Frashaw27 replied to my comment attempting to elaborate on it. And did in a mostly accurate sense. (Few issues but it gets the general idea across as to why this argument is not productive or even harmful.)

Draw your own conclusions about the "if you don't like it, just don't use it" speech.

This is just like, the way "Things" work in sticker star and color splash lmao

I already created a topic asking to increase the life span of winter and summer fish to more than 2 days and received several NO's from the community. That's the way things are. So I'm sorry, but this "then.........just.........don't use them" speech is very false to me.
