It is a common fallacy that people employ during a discussion or argument. Typically falling under the "traitorous critic" fallacy, which is used to alienate the individual who opposes an idea rather than the actual issue itself, or something along those lines. Frashaw27 replied to my comment attempting to elaborate on it. And did in a mostly accurate sense. (Few issues but it gets the general idea across as to why this argument is not productive or even harmful.)

Sorry once again, I fear my comment was missunderstood as I seemed to have worded it in a weird way, non-intentionally [I often tend to write everything that comes into my head as soon as my mind is compulsively overflown with words, including the thought of "just don't use it (the optional item)" since I simply wouldn't use anything I don't like, in case devs impletented it for some way.] I was actually not criticising the feedback people had towards the AFW nerf-item suggestion (as I said, I try to stay mostly neutral towards suggestions because I basically wish the game wouldn't be changed all the time for.......nostalgia reasons? I don't even know myself.), but instead I just wondered why one particular user seemed to have been "attacked" with what sounded to me like "mean ridiculing". I didn't know the exact backstory of what the user treated other user suggestions like before and second, I probably missread the reactions as more negative then they were intended to sound like. So basically, I truly don't care about what people suggest and what devs do with it, I just felt confused about the "harsh" tone and misstook it for people-for-some-reason-attack-this-user-because-of-a-random-idea.

No sweat I do that too! Hard to break that habit. Idk if it is because I am autistic or just because I struggle with actually... thinking? My mind is blank most of the time and I just go off of instinct. Lots of issues with that but nothing to devastating (usually), so don't worry about that. :love_heart: I knew there wasn't ill intent, there rarely is.

Likewise. For me it started with the heavy focus on Bosses rather than survival. We've gotten new survival aspects like post rift content and moon storms but they feel so isolated rather than global so it can be ignored a lot of the time. I understand that feeling.

No need to know the backstory. Just bringing awareness to that kind of rhetoric of "just ignore it" is a bad argument or counter point in the majority of situations, regardless of the setting. No ill intent towards you, just awareness :). I know I've made the mistake of using that kind of rhetoric before, it happens to everyone nothing to be ashamed of just something to grow away from.

Draw your own conclusions about the "if you don't like it, just don't use it" speech.

As I said before, I did NOT know this behaviour, and my point stands here again: It's up to the devs to make their decisions. And again: Every suggestion should be treated equally, so to suggest to use a mod is of course a normal way to review a suggestion. My brain just got anxious because I missunderstood the reactions here as targeting a user for the sake of targeting a user. So I just wanted to mention, that I don't see why someone was targeted for suggestion what seemed to me an innocent change. And here: The exact same would have applied if grm9 would have been the user and if he had been "attacked" (just using the word to explain what I have misread the funny comments as).

Now with this background in mind, I would have not "defended" Gashzer in the first place, as then I would have seen that the "funny comments" were probably just meant as what they were: Funny reactions to remind the user of not using double-standards when it comes to suggestions.

So once again sorry! I did NOT meant to start a war or something. (also sorry I am permanently tired and have a lack of sleep so I probably write the weirdest stuff after midnight and missunderstood a lot of things.)

I already created a topic asking to increase the life span of winter and summer fish to more than 2 days and received several NO's from the community. That's the way things are. So I'm sorry, but this "then.........just.........don't use them" speech is very false to me.

I'm getting a bit tired of explaining, but I have to repeat myself, since I consider it very impolite to not react to a reply:

I mentioned the then just don't use them "speech" because I am a) super sleepy and have a stress-induced overthinking compulsion the whole day long already that makes me write down every tiny thought that randomly gets into my mind, which in this case was (long form): If I don't want to use an item I just don't use it. I am confused if other people really think of every mechanic / item as has-to-be-used.

b) I missunderstood the whole funny replies as personal attacks towards a user who [my old thought when I saw this thread and didn't yet know the user threated someone else equally earlier] "only" had an "innocent" suggestion.

c) I'm sorry your ideas were rejected. (hopefully not just with a simply NO as reply) I just hope you didn't receive any personal attacks or something, as once again, this was the ONLY thing that original made me write any reaction to the post. (and now I will try to keep in mind that people don't always mean stuff as serious hostile attacks here when they are using funny comments.)

It's ok as I wrote above in the other comment, I will try to keep in mind, that people don't always mean something as a "hostile attack" and to keep in mind that I often missunderstand a situation between users. AND that I will try to avoid writing down my thoughts of: I wonder why people seem to dislike the word "optional" so much or if they don't understand it. (basically what I meant when writing down the "just ignore it" thing.) if it means that people may missunderstand it as me trying to "forbid" valid (or specifically personal gameplay style) negative feedback to a suggestion.
