(Good Lord in heaven take me back to 2019.)

(PS: Skilltree Poll is on a separate thread.)

WB pollmaster!

Also the changes were neat.
I’m still not a big fan of the crab king fight tbh, but its definitely a lot better than it was.

The new ancient trees just feel like intentional lengthened gameplay, you have to farm a lot of those and filter out the ones that grow the fastest, if you don't clearing the ruins regularly is simply better than those trees. This is even worse considering there's no way you can tell how fast they grow other than waiting hours, even RPGs that make you grind for a specific stat tell you the exact number, but DST doesn't...

The skill trees are bad, every character is now getting stronger and stronger, the first few skill trees seem weak now, can't wait for character rework round 2 because Wormwood is underpowered or something

I will admit that I am very fond of the actual Quality of Life changes the update introduced. The salt formation changes especially. However, there are still a lot of things that really hold the update back for me overall.

While the new monkey behavior is nice and I like the new alternate post-raid encounter. They didn't really fix the problems with them on a conceptual level. You're still punished for defending yourself or just letting them have their way.  And there are no good ways to counter them that don't involve finding the Moon Quey.

Ancient Trees are probably the thing I was most excited about. But I really don't like how them maturing is still season-locked. I don't mind them being slow, but being rare and locked behind sailing should have been enough of a gate to let you grow them without any caveats.

And the Ceab King fight, while absolutely an improvement to the old fight, also feels like a much to significant deviation from the old fight. Crab King was the only real sailing-based boss. And I really don't think the way to fix it was by making it less of a sailing-based boss.

Remember when Ancient Guardian got reworked? That rework focused on expanding what was already there. Granted there wasn't much. But the rework kept his charge attack, while also adding a focus on making him charge into pillars to stun him and also a couple new attacks to keep the fight from getting monotonous. Crabs King's rework though would be like if they got rid of the charge entirely and made the fight more like the Klaus or Bearger fights. Still an abject improvement simply by virtue of how bad the previous fight was. But really missing the mark on what it was and should have been.

Overall, I do acknowledge that the update vastly improved the ocean and am greatful for it. But it didn't really improve or fix it in the ways that it really needed, and has a good handful of problems in its own right.

For me, everything was perfect except the fact that I will miss old crab king a hecking lot.

but.. Klei DID deliver what their intention was, so that's already an A+ in my book. They didn't fail to change or add the important things they wanted to, except the lunar hail changes which I'm still waiting to be delivered - and for me personally I want it very hard, current gameplay feels like a fairy tail land with no problems or issues.

It feels like the constant is not the constant anymore, but rather The promised land. Everything players cried for all these years was given, so maybe next year or after skill trees are done we're getting an actual FUN and engaging experience of dst.

Aside from this, we NEED to (in the future) fix the progression problem/old resource and items being substituted instead of grafted, Skill tree progression having an end instead of a more engaging grind (world interactions and boss activities being almost inexistent) and Planar mechanics being easily accesible from the moment they show up (which doesn't make sense since you're HARDLY gonna fight armored bearger without planar damage).

Sure I know the devs have an intended way to play the game, but it seems too easy nowadays, took me literally 3 fights to perfect the celestial champion, so unless he's the first boss of this new era, he's quite a dissapointament.

I just wanted to say that this was a well structured poll. Some of the polls I have seen on this forum are either structured so it is impossible to represent your opinion when participating or include things like opinionated statements with some of the options. This poll has none of those issues and makes me happy.

It's only been out for a day, haven't had any time to try everything out (since I start new worlds every patch.)

So far the change to the Moon Quay Island finding is awesome. Actually knowing where to look is tres magnifique!

Wurt's skill set is... well it's a skill set so I hate it existing, but I like the over all balance. (The unique items are not 'mandatory' like with Willow or Wigfrid so over all, it is less egregious.)

The Searats are there. Don't think they add or remove anything from the game just kind of exist. (Though I kind of want to bring one near a Cookiecutter biome to see what chaos ensues.)

Everything else I haven't tried yet since I'm only halfway through the first summer, and I am no speed runner.
