Copyafriend
hey guys, i know we all love klei, and just wanna make suggestions because we care so much. so therefore: i am making a suggestion to all forum goers: throw some compliments about what you CURRENTLY like about the skill trees into every suggestion you make. klei works hard and its easy for developers to get burned out, especially when they're so active in their community. i just witnessed project zomboid dev lenny swear off community interaction, and it helped me remember that klei is just full of people who want to make the best game they can. they wanna make the best game they can FOR US. so lets make sure we're all positive and supportive of them, even if they make decisions we disagree with. and if a klei developer is reading this: YOU'RE DOING A GREAT JOB! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK. I APPRECIATE HOW OFTEN YA'LL LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY!!! Wormboi
I like that skill tress can make bad characters into amazing ones! Random Guy000
I really like how skill trees amplify the personality of every character that gets it, be it Wilson's scientist skills or Woodie's big focus on curses, rather than just the lumberjack stuff Keep up the good work, Klei! We love you! Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157321-klei-positivity/#findComment-1727002 Share on other sites
NPCMaxwell
I adore how the skill-trees always stay faithful to the character themes, instead of just adding random abilities like it often is done in other video games where skill trees just exist to make something better while often feeling out of place when the player characters aren't "nobodies" but have backstories. (granted in most video games I have played that introduced skill trees the characters actually were supposed to be "nobodies" but even with those it felt out of place, while Klei's changes to the character abilities feel like stuff that the characters actually care about to invest time to learn for and even when it is just to help out their fellow survivors.) My favourite thing will always be how they gave Wilson the possibility to transmutation. flamboyant wolf
I love the option to choose what you want out of the character, as well as the variety it brings to repeated characters in multiplayer. JustAFlower
Let me say thank you for that moment on a friday night last year, where I was stressing and panicking a lot in the fifth chapter of Adventure mode, adrenaline all over, and I got Maxwell at the end, that moment was extremely special because, it gave me that nostalgia smell. And I knew that this amazing game made by amazing developers was gonna change my gaming future in a good way, so thanks Klei, have some positivity ! btw very controversial but I think you did great at the dragon event few months ago, because I had fun, have some positivity again ! Reiko24
I love how they read the forums and really listen to our feedback. I love that they still update the game after all this time. I love that they are still trying to make the game a bit harder - lunar hail, acid rain, (and the new crystal bosses, absolute favorite, I got wrecked by Armored Bearger yesterday lol). I'm sure that even those big things we complain about that have like 40 likes and hearts are looked into, but they will be taken care of in time. People complain about "bigger picture", etc. but it takes time to make stuff, and I am going to wait to see what they come up with! Take your time Klei. Better to take more time and create a masterpiece, than rush it and make others and yourself disappointed - like Cyberpunk 2077 was forced to release earlier due to pressure. It is now a masterpiece after some years. Edit: Also, there is some negativity, you probably already know it, but remember - players that are happy will not come on the forums to say this usually. Players that are unhappy will come to complain more often. So as long as your feedback isn't overrun with 90% negativity, you are doing great! Mike23Ua
I like the “concept” of skill trees, and since I tend to think so far out of the box, I often wonder if on a harder difficulty mode, skill trees could be replaced with “curses” that over longer periods of play the player will need to pick from and endure. I won’t get too deep into details, but in this one game I played you could pick a “curse” that let you gain 40% more health from food, but the tradeoff was that you took 40% more damage from enemy attacks. Skill Trees are exactly this, except, straight character buffs and no downsides. Which poses the Question if a “Hardcore Mode” was to be added, could skill trees be replaced in favor of “pick your poison” IDK, the one skill tree I really genuinely love everything about though was hands down Willows, I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about her skill tree.. it was simple and gave her just enough to feel unique, but not overly bloated. It does make it hard to go back and play solo DS though without a ember collecting fire Mage Willow. Oh well guess that’s the small price you gotta pay between games and their sequels. Pet Rock
I love the small things that klei has added. Slipping on ice is so random, but these kinds of things are what made me love the game in the first place, and I am happy they are still implementing such things. The amount of different ocean circles in the game also seems like a running gag from klei. Circular boats, ice circles, and now marotter dens? Lilypads could continue the series think about it Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157321-klei-positivity/#findComment-1727163 Share on other sites

Additional curse-treas would be sweet to have! Especially when the "temptation" to add a curse would be extremly high, with the downsides maybe showing after a kind of delay (but still making it so that you can't remove the curse before the delay kicks in) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157321-klei-positivity/#findComment-1727256 Share on other sites
