To summarize it's like

yes: 46%

no: 27%

maybe: 15%

maybe not 10%

no opinion: 2%

 

To summarize further by coalescing the maybe and maybe not into yes and no, respectively:

yes: 61.54%

no: 36.54%

undecided: 1.92%

 

Which is not particularly close to 50/50. More than 50% more "yes" than "no".

and yes, 35% "no" is decidedly not 50/50, but its also a lot closer than i expected is all i meant. i was expecting 15-25%

hah, yeah. My main issue with this poll was not clearly showing the yes/no split, but we get some extra insight from the nuanced responses and can roll up the numbers later :).

thats one of the inherent flaws in a poll, either the poll is a litle ambiguous, or the poll oversimplifies things. i find oversimplified polls frustrating, but mines got flaws too

One interesting difference between this poll and the previous poll on the issue is that this one is slightly more skewed towards the yes side and slightly less towards no. Perhaps that's because the poll offered some amount of nuance that offer more of a middle ground than a strict yes or no.

I think catapults should be sharable like it used to be but other characters can't reap the benefits from winona's skill tree, so it's just the base catapult like pre-skill tree winona. Also, other characters shouldn't be able to move them around, I like the idea that only Winona knows hows to assemble them kinda like Warly's crockpots.

But the base catapult is very very strong. Winona's skills for catapults are completely unnecessary and are her least powerful skills, generator skills are far better anyway.

So thats not a compromise at all. Thats like sayin "lets give wolfgangs mighty form double damage for all characters but dont worry, we wont give the boost to mining and chopping so it makes it completely balanced...."

All characters can use the basic functionality of Wickerbottom's bookcase.

I don't know why this wasn't as simple as a yes or no. I don't care enough to make polls for this update, but man, is it really relevant to gauge a person's feelings, what they had for lunch and their last bowel movement on a survey?

It seems like the majority of people here seem to want to keep catapults being accessible. 

 

It's difficult to gauge sentiments outside of the forums. Most people here form a dogma.

they are already working on this because of this post. read the main post then the red post. which is why I think level 0 catapults would be fine, because there would always be a reason to play Winona. If i cant interact with them and a winona is offline or too busy doing something else I am going to hammer them down if they are in the way. I'd rather don't but thats pretty much the solution we are left with.

Do you want everyone to be able to read wickerbottom books and have access to her effects?

not everyone can access her remote or any of its functions, use her rose tinted glasses or the tellebrella. what are you getting at? This isn't a matter of accessing someones entire kit. this is a matter of having my candy taken away from me.

Lvl 0 catapults are at 90% of their total strength. Winona's catapult skills or her remote control of them dont even come close to adding enough power to make staying as her worth it.

If klei reverts this change she will forever stay as a swap character. Klei knows this.

what are you talking about her remote makes her shoot them twice as fast. this isn't even taking into account generator upgrades or fuel accessibility, aoe increases and the rest of the attack speed modifiers, rose tinted goggles all its abilities and the tellebrella which is getting a buff.

Doesnt matter, still isnt as useful as becoming wolfgang to have double damage plus lvl 0 catapults or a wicker with catapults or maxwell with wicker books plus catapults...

The problem is you putting winonas catapult skills against another characters full perk abilities plus winonas own catapults. And Winona will always lose in this scenario.

tbf double firing speed on catapults is effectively doubling their damage too, which has more impact than a single entity getting double damage

I appreciate the spread of reasons in the poll, I hate when polls are so simplistic your feelings toward the subject are lumped into either love or hatred of the topic. 
I chose the last maybe not, because I do think catapults are a large part of Winona's identity and kit. While it would be fine if they were shared again, I feel like I would be slightly more content with the way it is now.

Ironically enough the people who voted “yes” also voted “because it’s for better co-op”

mans gotta call y’all out on that vote, Nothing about Winona being able to build catapults and then leave the game so they remain is “Co-op”

This poll is more rigged than well.. most things people can vote on. ;) 

Activity on this thread seems to have died down a bit so I thought I'd share updated roll up of the results.

Grouping variants of yes, no, maybe, maybe not:

  • Yes: 40.78%
  • No: 28.16%
  • Maybe: 18.45%
  • Maybe not: 9.71%
  • No opinion: 2.91%

Merging the maybes into corresponding yes/no

  • Yes: 59.22%
  • No: 37.86%
  • No opinion: 2.91%

Only yes and no (ignores maybes and undecided)

  • Yes: 59.15%
  • No: 40.85%

Pretty similar to preliminary results yesterday. Almost an exact match for a simpler version of this poll from a few days ago.

What we can say from these results is that, for every 3 players that want winona's catapults to be usable by the rest of the team in some capacity, there are 2 players that don't.

But all I'm asking is to be like it used to before the beta. Everyone could use winona's catapults before, why is it a problem now? Her skills are definitely worth it, the new planar attacks are really strong and Winona can make them shoot even faster. There's definitely a reason to play with Winona, she even teleports now and get revives for free, she gets free pure horror and easy scraps. Klei removed others from using her catapults to stop her from being a swappable character, but she isn't anymore, there's a lot of value in her skills now. I don't get your comparison with Wolfgang, I'm asking for something to stay the same, we were never able to use mighty form with other characters, that makes no sense.
