Wonz
Wormwood still gets sad about digging out the dead tree stumps but torturing a sappling by planting it and then shoveling it over and over grants him +5 sanity per turn. With those changes getting wood as himself would be slightly easier but he couldn't cheese the sanity with shovel and single plant. What do you think? Good change? JustAFlower
I mean... he's very happy to plant a plant. I don't see why this SHOULD change. Wonz
I'm not suggeting to reduce planting sanity gain from 10 to less. I am saying the digging sanity cost could go from -5 to -10. Sanity literally falls down freely from the sky in the form of seeds why go through the hassle of shovling? Ive never felt the need to do this and i have played ww for idk how many hundreds of hrs. removing stump dig sanity cost would ofc just be nice but increasing plant digging cost to remove this “cheese” would just be a random nerf to everyone not doing this digging replanting thing. hoppin mandrake
the stump digging thing always irked me you can start plants/trees on fire and run away and it does nothing to your sanity. if you chop down a dead/burnt tree it does nothing to your sanity. but if you dig up a stump you get -10 sanity? Spino43
The stump losing sanity is weird. The tree is techincally dead at that point. HowlVoid
I guess we can chalk up losing sanity to stumps to being naive. Since sanity loss is loosely tied to how one perceives something, aka he doesn't know it's completely dead. I'll say no to the nerf too, Wormwood has the best sanity recovery in the game with seeds (plus cooked cactus flesh and green mushrooms have no drawbacks) so it's not exactly a big exploit. ShadowbirdRH
I say keep the 5 sanity loss from digging trees, it makes sense if you think about it as mortuary work from Wormwood's perspective, and it balances well with selective logging. If Wormwood only goes after fully grown trees, the two pine cones balances out the lost sanity. As for other sources of losses, I'd be for upping the sanity loss from digging up live plants that don't need to be periodically fertilized or have already been transplanted before to 10 to line up with the 10 gained from replanting, and 15 for digging plants that will either require periodic fertilization from then on, or be destroyed. I'd also be in favor of bringing back Wormwood losing sanity to nearby plant destruction as well. Wormwood's almost got it too easy when it comes to sanity.
