Make Backpack skins compatible with Insulated Pack

Recommended Posts

The same way Log Suit skins are compatible with Scalemail, Spear skins are compatible with Ice/Fire Staff, Top Hat skins are compatible with Prestihatitator, or even Walking Cane skins are compatible with The Lazy Explorer.

Please Klei, this is the only thing holding me back from buying the Chester Plush ;(

Reason they are compatable is because they are made with the same item that used that skin. The insulated pack looks and is made very differently.

Good point, but you can't use a Backpack in a recipe, since you can't put it in your inventory bar...

It doesn't use grass or twigs either. Just gears, doodads and insulated fur.

Well, you see it as an issue, but I don't... I'm just viewing the similarities between the 2 items. Like Chester and Snow Chester

Klei could tweak the Backpack skins to fit the Insulated Pack characteristics, like they did with every items I mentioned above. Adding a little fluffiness there, or a little bit of machinery there
You could even add flavor for some skins, like the Hound Haversack that could become a Snow Hound Haversack, or the Mini Beefalo Carryall that could become extra fluffy

I just believe it's a shame to lose your skin when you upgrade your Backpack

If they added backpack skins for one back item people would ask the same for the rest. "Insulated pack got backpack skins, can piggyback get them too?", "I want to use my chester backpack skin on the krampus sack", "The worst part of the seed pack-it is not having my backpack skins", "The chef's pouch should really have backpack skin support". There's already a million backpack skins, and making 5 million alternates for the 1 million existing skins to make an unprecedented change on items that don't even use the backpack in their crafting recipe is silly.

The insulated pack (along with every other item that has little to no skins) should just get new skins.

i don't see the problem with this.

It would literally be over 100 new skins that they would have to make. 100 skins that wouldn't fund development at all, since they'd all be free. 100 skins that they'd have to make instead of making new skins, actually interesting skins that we haven't seen before. The Woodie/Wolfgang/Wormwood skill tree update added 7 skins. Do you really not see the problem?

I don't see the problem. man, there is such a clear disparity between backpack and piggyback skins and klei still makes backpack skins CONSTANTLY. It's habitual.

Not even chests get that many skins.

Piggybacks can function as VERY reliable storage as they are fireproof and match the capacity of scaled chests. The ratio of backpack skins to piggyback skins has to be about 1:10 and skins can be used as a way to organize.

You will never, ever EVER make me see the problem. For whatever reason, klei hates the idea of piggyback skins. We have not and will not receive the amount of them that backpacks have. Even the recent skin packs have included backpack skins. It's absurd. One of the recent skins being the elephant one for the backpack? I mean, what the hell? Why not have that be a piggyback skin?

Because the demand for new piggyback skins on par with the number of backpack skins will never come to pass, just give us the existing backpack skins.

Sometimes you can't defend companies. You gotta keep them accountable. dst is a game I really enjoy, but they cannot ever be above any sort of criticism.

See, and I'm not against the idea of having skins that sometimes are literal recolors just for the sake of organization, even if it's a clear as day money grub.

Give me color swaps for krampus sacks that I need to pay and weave for. I don't give a. Would be incredible for utility.

As far as skins go, klei has a mild allergy when it comes to money. I don't understand why some skins can't just be commons tier but just modest recolors.

This is already a Piggyback skin and has been since on release of the Wolfgang rework. It's been a favourite of mine to use often.

As for main topic, I prefer seeing unique skins for insulated pack. Not a genuine complaint but I think it's really funny how we got skins for obelisks and the critter den of all things before the poor old Insulated Pack, :p.

You gotta keep Klei accountable for not cancelling development of all upcoming skins for the next 2+ years so that they can gradually release 100 variations of the same skins we've already seen completely for free.

Not that one. this one's ugly. Backpack got a much nicer koalaphant one.

they should do both.

There's actually been an absurd slowdown of skins lately.

I can't be the only one whose noticed. The money allergy extends to the gothic/victorian sets.

I'd love for there to be a mushlamp gothic light that isn't a 3 headed one like the glowcap so I can place tons of them without it looking too cluttered.

We haven't been getting a decent quantity of skins.

Even things that can be copied from hamlet potentially like the topiaries. Why the hell can't hay walls receive the hamlet topiary skins??????? I mean, it's a copy/paste/rescale for HD

It's crazy! I'd pay for that even if it's minimal effort.

So yes. 100000000 backpack skins ported over to piggyback. How hard could it be?

We got one for a literal boulder before. I don't get the point of doing a skin for the rock den since nobody is going to base in the moasic biome and it is unmovable.

Unique skins for the Insulated Pack would be great, to be honest there is no need to port every Backpack skin into everything else, but I want NEED my Snow Chester Insulated Pack skin :X

Chester? Don't make me laugh. If they are going to port a single backpack skin to insulated pack, it has to be this one:

Spoiler

This is literally the sole thing that holds me back from using any other alternative. Piggyback? Krampus sack? Why would I use them having this? If I were a good artist, I would make a cute art of a fluffy winter rabbit skin for the insulated pack that would make you understand why I'm so obsessed about this skin. It's perfection.

Piggyback is massively under-ultilize. 10% speed penalty is really negligible.

To be perfectly honest I mostly run around wihtout a backpack; only using a krampus when farming wood or the like. Chester is enough for everything otherwise
