If you’re talking about the spider bracelet, you could make them apart of the same branch branch where the friendship skill comes first before the homemade den and introduce the spider bracelet in the friendship skill.

I think spider neutrality is already enough but if you feel like adding to it then sure.

I’m not sure of what else you could name but if you thought of a better name then sure.

Sry, I’m fine but haven’t gotten around to responding yet. I meant to a couple of days ago.

I did come up with some progress on the affinities:

The 3d shadow webbing’s shadow stack in the middle would be shaped similar to a tier 3 spider den but a little smaller. That shadow stack can also store 3 creatures that get too close to it like how the icker works. Webber can collect or free the creature trapped in it depending on what it is. Spiders and allies are unaffected in anyway. It’s shadow stack will also have an icker blob like effect. If something too large gets stuck in the center, they will instead, stop be affected in anyway by the webbing for like 20 seconds (apart from the icker like effect).

Teleporting outside its zone while in it would be impossible for any creature and its teleport would probably be messed up, so at best they’ll teleport at the edge of the webbing.

you can add pure horror to it, which makes the shadow stack shoot a shadowy projectile at a major target for every creature that gets trapped in it, and kills that creature. And any larger creature that’s stuck in the center will receive 5 planar dmg every 2 seconds. The shadow stack would also have the red lightning like aura of pure horror.

The idea is to keep your enemies from moving too far and to be able to retreat more safely.

 

I wasn’t sure what to do for the lunar side so I decided to try something a little more experimental. So it’s simply a flute that only puts spiders to sleep, but it blocks a lot of dmg done while in that state and heals them quickly. It also makes glass grow on them that’ll shatter on to the enemy if hit. They won’t wake up even when hit until 10-20 seconds have passed by. You can add pure brilliance to give make its effects include protection against planar and shattering planar dmg.

Would most definitely need some work if we used it though.


I also thought about making these a source of arachnid planar as to reduce the amount of items added but maybe it’s better to keep them separate.

I want him to be the spider equivalent of benevolent rabbit king and all the other kings/queens(including lord of the fruit flies and not including spider queen sense she’s more of a mother than a queen ) the emperor idea was meant to out rank her and at least in his super colony he will out rank any queens apart of it

We could do that but what is was thinking was having both the spider revival and neutrality ability be part the craft in care crafts and have the in the spirit of friendship have the +2 in how many dens you can decorate along side the spider gland drop when Webber dies 

also, another alternative would be moving the homage den craft down the spirit of friendship skill replacing that +2

Does it produce a webbed area like the other one also not I dislike it but why do we want our spiders to be asleep?

I’m leaning more towards the side of keeping it separate, but if we do make a part of the same thing, we should definitely have it infuse like it does for Wurt’s temporary swamped her thing

We could go with wording similar to medieval times if that works with you?

If you went with the alternative, you’d lose a care craft. Though if you want to do the +2 one then sure.

The containing and shooting part might be too much, but that can be removed. I was more so wanting something that would aid against spontaneously moving bosses.

No webbing. The idea was if your spiders have been badly hurt or about to be destroyed, you can use this item to save and heal them all at the cost of sleep as it’s quick.

 

Though I had another idea:

For the lunar side, you will be able to eat up to 4 moon shards before your 4 spider legs on your head have glass tips and be raised a bit higher (with another more noticeable difference for the moon bound skin). This change would be permanent unless Webber died or possibly another way. And each moon shard eaten would hurt you by 5 health.

This will give you the ability to “mind control” or telepathically communicate with all befriended shattered spiders. All affected shattered spiders will change behavior, prioritizing enemies that attack or target Webber over other targets.

Possibly an additional stat buff or spike buff, but the main feature is the behavior change. There would also be a planar version you could swap to by eating 1 pure brilliance.

 

For the shadow side, you would be able to eat 1 nightmare fuel to enter a unique state where you may encounter shadow spiders. It is temporary, lasting a few minutes, and drains your sanity quickly.

These shadow spiders will spawn commonly but fairly while the effect is active. You won’t be able to do much with these, but giving them your own befriend spiders will befriend them. Unbefriended shadow spiders will despawn after the effect wears off.

There could be a switcherdoodle of the shadow spider here but since the shadow spider would be a more permanent state (and nightmare fuel is too costly for switcherdoodles of these) it’s probably better without one.

There could probably be a secondary effect to this, or change how you get the shadow spider, but I’m not as pleased with the shadow version as I am with the lunar one.

I like it, but I feel like it could use an extra touch perhaps temporarily giving them the ability to see shadow creatures, and fight them also we could make The moonlight spikes more prominent on all the skins, so we don’t have to make a different version for the Moonbound skin as well as and perhaps using an extra two moon glass on the hands or fingers because if you notice the spider’s front legs are merged with his arms

We could change it to 4 to 6 nightmare fuel giving shadow spikes on the end of his spiderlegs (and mixed arms) to be more reflective with the lunar side also in case you mean, feed your befriended spiders by give your befriended spiders then that would be too out of character, even if we go with the corrupting influence of the shadows route as one other forum goer dead with their Webber skill tree

Maybe, since it would only be available after a trip to lunar island (or rifts), and since Webber is “mind controlling” or telepathically communicating with them, they would be able to see or at least know where the nightmares that he sees are at.

Wouldn’t every skin need its own version? For example the bat Webber skin. And I was thinking just the top 4 legs since he wouldn’t want to change his actual arms and legs as he uses those for other things. Plus his top 4 legs are connected to his head to allow for better telepathy.

I was thinking eyes as they’re as notable as the legs that spiders have. Plus the idea was that shadowy eye = shadow vision = seeing shadow spiders. The thought was merging the spider with the shadow variant. Though another way to go is that only when that effect is active, you can revive dead spiders into shadow spiders if you interact with them just after they died.

if it affects all skins, I feel like we shouldn’t do it since although this is a lesser instants that’s the reason why I decide not to give him the ability to eat switcher doodles because if he’s able to eat it, it should work like it does for normal spiders and change his appearance, and that would cause problems with skin unless they designed different versions of those skins for when you’re that variant of spider, but that is a bit too much to ask their artists to do in my opinion

Let’s go with interaction idea. Also, what if we make the eye affect the same for both lunar and shadow just changing the color of it to white or blue for lunar since for lunar you’re sharing what you see too your lunar spiders and for shadow it allows you to see your spiders after they die for a short period

The way I saw them reflecting was where the shadow one would attract enemies and the lunar one would keep them away (as in reducing harm). But if we’re probably doing the shattered telepathy idea, then should we just abandon this idea for now atleast?

To be fair, it’s not a whole reskin, just one new state modified to fit every skin.

I personally prefer the leg mutation vs. shadow vision as they both note the legs and eyes associated with spiders. It also makes them visually more unique/different while still keeping them linked in a way that makes them seem the same, like how there are 2 different sides on the same coin.

We can keep going forward with having the lunar affect the legs for now, but keep the idea of them both affecting the eyes in the back of your head because I really feel like it would fix the problem we have also I think it makes more sense since we’re giving our lunar spiders the ability to see through our eyes

I was just thinking, what if instead of increasing the amount of times you can use the den decorating set what if we make decorated dens and bedazzled/befriended spiders give off a positive sanity aura  to Webber and possibly other players equal to that of the negatives or of that unfriended, spiders and normal den give non-Weber players

I feel like it’s more so communicating with the shattered spiders instead of them seeing. But what problem are you saying it’d fix?

I doubt that the other survivors are ever gonna gain sanity from even bedazzled spiders. And in a way, wouldn’t it be weird for Webber to have to spend insight just to be calmed by already friendly spiders and dens? I guess it’s possible but still.

Though that gave me an idea where after befriending 10 spiders, you get a +10 sanity gain, to accommodate for his low sanity and no befriended sanity gain. Although Wurt doesn’t get that either and Spiders are a special follower so I’m not so sure.

I think I originally meant it as a baseline perk but just didn’t mention it, but you’re right if it was a skill. The skill  you suggest could also be a baseline perk, but it’d probably have to be a very low sanity aura that stacks or a limit to balance it.

Yeah, I actually have it as a possible counter balance till the downside I want to add to the baseline stuff of losing sanity when befriended spiders die mentioned in the top of the main post

I have a simple idea

Make Switcherdoodles work on Nest Instead

Fixes a lot of core problem Webber have
 

  1. Spider being non disposable on player mind, due them not regaining health at all and the time and effort getting them back. means people will less likely to use good spiders at all before Nurses
  2. Spider army requiring Nurses to work. A lot of times people would not want to start making a group of spider until they have nurses available. Which circles back to point 1, people doesn't think them as disposable army
  3. Decorating Den Kit, Finally have a use instead of making parking lots for spiders. Making a good spider spawner that is passive to other players is a good thing now, instead of normal spiders that will be murdered for silk and meat
  4. Shoo Box, Will have a use instead of parking your spider, will dismiss your spider and let them return to their nest, and de-aggro other spiders present in the area. perfect for moving through rock lobster or pig territory
  5. Removal of the need to make Parking Lots. Will generally free up more memory due not having tons of spider parked and walking to the corner all the time
  6. Less hassle to gain good spiders. I can't emphasize enough that Spiders are meant to be disposable army, they have no healing and no loyalty timer. they are meant to help but not all the time. Having the better spiders at your disposal without going the tedious way to go to cave every time for spitter spider and other kind of spiders
  7. More robust on spider gathering. Instead of making parking lots on several locations, be it on surface or cave, having a dedicated spawner for specific type of spider would help a lot, and to certain point, disincentivize people from hoarding too much spider

Any other ideas will generally work in tandem with this. if we keep the idea of Webber being a Spider tamer. Would also open up the skill tree to more possibility

Any other ideas will generally work in tandem with this. if we keep the idea of Webber being a Spider tamer. Would also open up the skill tree to more possibility

  • Unbreakable friendship: Make decorated dens  not break when attacked and spiders in the  Bedazzled range only attack attackers and nurses spawn from tier 3+ decorating the den will no longer retract the ground webbing, when not befriended bedazzled spiders will stay within the range of the decorated den

 

 

 

  • Oral obliging : cause spiders to “hammer” by hitting the structure you want to be hammered once in case of a miss click use webby whistle to cancel demolition, they eat yucuse snot now when you’re stuck, can rummage through hound mounds(blue and red gems)/burrows (stolen items as well as rock, Flint, nighter, and gold)/hollow stump (stolen items)/splumonkey pod (stolen items)/marotter den(stolen items)/tidy hidy holes(for collected dust) items gained by rummaging will temporarily be wet due to saliva you can trigger the spiders too start rummaging by blowing the whistle near the thing you want them to rummage through rummaging will be a timed interaction similar to picking a berry bush or going through a scrap pile 
       

 

 

  • Silk fashioner: razors can be used to mark sticky webbing for retraction,if you  place sticky webbing connected to the den and the den still has sticky webbing to use the den will “place” that instead of using your own sticky webbing, you can craft sticky webbing with 2 silk(sticky webbing outside of that I “placed” by the den would trigger spiders to come out)(only crafted sticky webbing drops when using the razor)

 

  • Rapid Growth: Webber can upgrade dens with 4 silk instead of 5 silk

 

 

 

 

  • Regeneration sensitization:increase stats from nurse spiders for Webber(15 hp)

 

  • Nocturnally adept: partial night vision  (sense spiders walk around at night) only silhouettes  not enough to not be attacked by Charlie but enough to  see where your going, reduced sanity lose from dusk or night 60-80% during dawn and 40-60% during night.

 

 

 

  • Deeper den sleeper:Stats for sleeping in dens to 2 sanity and 3 health for 1.5 hunger.

  • Unnatural brood: You are now able to craft the itsy bitsy nest reusing the baby spiders from the forge and they fill up a Polar Bearger Bin like item called the itsy bitsy nest and they would act as distractions somewhat like the parasitic shading  but the victim wouldn’t be immune to damage you decide if,when,and how many you takeout at a time also depending on what beard skin you have on will determine what they look like  they would look like tiny versions of what spiders from a den that has a queen that looks like that beards respective Webber skin as well as the egg sack having the same color,you get 6 slots with 12-20 second cool down until you can spawn the next one and they would do 9 damage(18 if you feed them electric milk),have 7 hp, upon death one will respawn every 90 seconds 

(You need this to craft the 3 care crafts and after the first 4 uses you need to replace the den decorating set for five more uses each time you run out)

Friendship bracelets: 2 bone shard, six beard hair, and one butterfly used in conjunction with the homemade to revive spiders you bind a spider to a friendship bracelet similar to a beefalo to a Beefalo Bell except you don’t give it a name the next time it dies it drops the friendship bracelet pain on how you wanna go with us at a lower durability, maybe have to be repairable with bone  and if you wanna automate a bit what if it works like  cursed trinkets except instead of being drawn to players it’s drawn to the nearest homemade den and if there’s an open slot, it takes it it can also be used by non-Webber players to make spiders neutral to them by keeping it in one of their inventory slots

Totem of friendship: (@Creatingabe1125’s idea) It would work if you have 2 or more spider, and what it would do is reduce damage against a hit based on how many spiders were hit and how many spiders there are. With more spiders meaning more pontential damage reduction against a hit and the more spiders hit the more that damage reduction is granted. However it only works when 2 or more spiders are hit 5-65% damage reduction, there would also be a damage buff The dmg buff would be simple with 0.5 extra dmg per spider upto a maximum of 10 extra dmg. The friendship totem would cost 1 living log, 8 silk, and 1 red gem, and would lose 2% durability per dead spider

 

homemade den: every time the den has a spider added it lose 1% durability, you can find out how much durability there is by inspecting, and you can repair it using silk but maybe by 2-5%. it has 12 spiders with the inventory of a scaled chest but for spiders only, it’ll take 90 seconds for each spider to respawn it (and how it will respawn a spider after the 90 seconds is the lightning conductor purple gem combination will cause lightning to strike around it the respawned to spider crawl out of the ground like rabbit king as a reference to how you unlock Webber in solo Don’t Starve)

it will spawn that Webbing Wickerbottom spawns with Overcoming Arachnophobia around it, you could also call the spiders out of the den by interacting with it

And it can be broken using a hammer

(craft the homemade den with a purple gem, a lightning conductor, and 2 sticks )

 

 

 

Travel den: it’s a large backpack like item with 4 or 6 general slots, and a hidden 20 slot storage for spiders that can be opened like a polar bin. It also has the down side of slowing you down 10% Along side the general backpack slots there are 2 specialized slots with one containing healing glop for incredibly faster healing regeneration and the other slot is for storing spider food so they Don’t Starve. You can also use your webby whistle to call them out for battle or to call them back in in emergencies or to quickly heal or to just travel with them. It would cost 12 silk, 4 papyrus,

Web net: eight silk, a certain number of scrap ,and one electric milk it’s like a less powerful shadow prison that does damage over the time depending on how big the creature is caught in it they will stay trapped for 5 to 10 minutes with a 30 second cooldown electric unnatural energy damages them overtime

 

Silk spindle:@blacknight7890 came up with an idea I re named it and changed its look but other then that it’s all there’s Learn to craft a 'Silk spindle', [like a giant spindle with spider hair and  a finial on it (with white string when silk is on it)] a structure that can be placed near decorated spider dens. Spiders will spin webs onto it over time, can be harvested for silk." [passive silk farming]

  • Garden spiders:

(create three new types of switcherdoodles with corresponding new spiders)(you need to successfully harvest and collect two of the corresponding crops to unlock each recipe)(when paired with silk fashioner, you can make farm plots permanently, wet by putting sticky webbing over farm plots if you use a water can on the plot either before or after placing the sticky webbing)

Squirter:  Green Huntsman Spiders have a green grassy pattern almost akin to a watermelon, and use this as camouflage to hide in the foliage and ambush prey that wanders by. In DST, maybe they could be commanded to stay in one spot with lots of plants. When you check in on them later, they may give you some morsels or meat, letting you have a share of whatever animals they were catching offscreen. Their switcherdoodle could be made from watermelons, like the pattern on their abdomen. Attacks by shooting water out its mouth that can also water crops

Switcherdoodle: 3 monster meat, 2 silk, 2 watermelon (20dmg, 200hp)

 

Hydrolysis spider: Black Widows are an infamously venomous spider, able to paralyze and even LIQUEFY their prey, which ranges from small insects all the way to larger animals like lizards and snakes. Coincidentally, the appearance of their eggs is often compared to garlic cloves! In DST, this paralyzation could be implemented in many ways, the easiest being putting mobs to sleep for a few seconds, allowing the other spiders a chance to heal and get in a bunch of damage before they wake back up, with a heavy cooldown following that so they can't just put a mob to sleep over and over. Their switcherdoodle could be made from garlic, like how their eggs look. It can fertilize crops with the liquid remains

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 garlic (20dmg, 400hp)

 

: Orb Weavers are commonly found on garden plants, and build large circular webs to catch pests. In DST, maybe they could make webs in your gardens to trap the Lord of the Fruit Flies, or even Brightshades? Their switcherdoodle could be made from basically any farm plant, but I'd go with tomatoes to give those a good use as Webber, since they can't be eaten by spiders for healing like veggie-eating followers do. catch all types of bugs in orbs of web and can till (like merms can with a shoddy tool)

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 tomatoes(20dmg, 200hp)

 

 

  • social hunting:  befriended/bedazzled spiders will no longer check items to see if they can eat them so now they won’t eat anything unless you feed them

 

  •   Glop mastery: healing glop animation takes half as long as well as healing over time for twice the healing in total for both Webber and spiders (Webber:8hp+1hp per sec for 8 sec=16hp in total spiders: 80hp+10hp per sec for 8 sec= 160hp in total) 

 

  •   Switcherdoodle stretching: efficiently use ingredients to make 3 times that amount of switcherdoodles when crafted (@Creatingabe1125’s idea)

 

  • Good reputation: when befriending spiders in groups amount of spiders befriended in one feeding increases to 4-6

 

 

   

          

 Alignments:

 

Lunar spider care I: 

The cryptic founder has rewarded your curiosity by giving you the power to reveal a shattered spider’s greater potential. You can also gift your friends some temporary lunar power.

You can now give a shattered spider 2 moon glass to change them into the enlightened spider. They can bite for 20 dmg but can do a psychic attack for 30 dmg if undisturbed for 3 seconds once started and takes another 4 seconds to begin attacking again. Other enlightened spiders can join this attack to deal a stronger hit. When in a group attack, the spiders stay in the psychic state and physically attack every 3 seconds. And if 3 or more spiders join the attack, it will be an aoe attack, with more enlightened spiders increasing the range and damage of it.

You can also craft shattered web-balls with 4 moon glass and 4 silk, which will provide a 10% defense against lunary foes and 5% dmg against shadowy foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they’re stackable and are 1 use.

You can infuse pure brilliance into the web ball, replacing 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended enlightened spiders.

Some other ideas are that you can craft the shattered switcherdoodle with 2 moonrock like how you can use “pig skin?” from hamlet in pig skin recipes and you’d have the recipe unlocked from the start. And befriending an enlightened spider will unlock an enlightened switcher doodle for 1 monster meat, 3 silk, and 3 moon glass.

 

Lunar spider care II: 

 

With a better feel of the moon’s power, wielding any lunar equipment will provide some sense of comfort by reducing the insanity of the world. The cryptic founder has also brightened your creative spirit and you now have the idea for a great battle caller.

When wielding 1 lunar equipment, all negative sanity auras around you and the night are reduced by 10%, 2 lunar equipment makes that 22.5%, and 3 lunar equipment makes that 33%.

You can now craft a new item at the brightsmithy called Webber’s brightle caller for 6 brightshade husks, 4 pure brilliance, 8 silk, and maybe or maybe not a beefalo horn.

The following effects last 1 minute: All spiders, including Webber and spider queens, move 20% faster, while all foes are slowed down by 33%. All non befriended nearby spider and spider queens will target what you target.

It has no durability with a 1 day cooldown, similar to the mudslingers. When used, Webber will play an animation with it, along with 3 quotes/lines that make up a compelling speech, but it sounds more soothing to non spiders, similar to a pan flute.

He can also recruit up to 2 spider queens with the spider queen instantly turning into a nest upon recruitment.

The following effects last 2 minutes: If you’ve recruited spider queens before use, 1 or 2 spider queens depending on how many you recruited, will rise from the ground as shattered queens, and has the same stats as normal spider queens, except they obey your most recent command, can summon shattered spiders, and deals 40 dmg along with 20 planar dmg. Enlightened spiders will gain 5 additional planar dmg.

 

 

shadow spider care I:

 

The shadow queen has rewarded your loyalty by granting you the darkest and most cunning of spiders. You can also gift your friends some temporary power of the shadows.

Learn to craft the shadow switcherdoodle which costs 2 monster meat, 3 silk, & 2 nightmare fuel. The shadow spider can double leap or leap mid air after leaping if the target moves. It can also teleport like normal shadows or a 20% chance after landing a hit with a leap. It’s bite is 20 but it’s damage increases by 5 per leap in a leap attack.

You can also craft shadow web-balls that cost 4 nightmare fuel and 4 silk. They provide 10% defense against shadowy foes and 5% dmg against lunary foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they are stackable and are 1 use.

you can infuse it with pure horror, which replaces 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended shadow spiders.

An idea was to unlock the recipe, you’d need to find a spider with a shadow aura while insane, and that spider has a 5% chance to spawn if you haven’t unlocked the switcherdoodle. And if you befriend it, it’ll drop 1 nightmare fuel and give the switcherdoodle recipe.

 

shadow spider care II:

 

As you have gotten to understand the shadows, all shadowy equipment will be less demanding on the mind, and all shadowy creatures will seem a bit less threatening. The shadow queen has also nourished your passionate soul, and now have the idea for a soul strengthening cheer.

All shadow equipment will drain or consume 50% less sanity, & shadow creatures or shadow alligned creatures will drain 33% less sanity.

Learn to craft Flags of Rallies at the shadow plinth kit for 5 dark tatters, 4 pure horror, and 6 silk.

It works similarly to the mudslinger, and has a cooldown of 8 minutes.

It’s effects are that for 2 minutes all befriended spiders will gain buffs similar to acid rain, every befriended spider will receive 2-4 waves of +50 health with each wave every 5 seconds (they will all get the same amount of waves and the amount is random), and 5 shadow spiders charged with pure horror will be summoned and stay until they die, when Webber leaves the server, or when Webber uses the Flags of Rallies again to summon 5 new spiders.

The shadow spiders will slowly lose health when not in combat and always have 10 planar dmg on top of their usual dmg. They are not affected by buffs and totems nor do they go to travel dens, though can still be healed by nurses and by Webber.

 

Organization of skill tree:

A starter is that most of the skill tree would be in a heart shaped background with the friendship side being top left, web action being on the top right, and inner arachnid being at the bottom of the heart.

Inner arachnid:

It’s first skill would be the sleeping den buff, and then it would have 4 skills connected to it.

Below it would be the 2 healing skills. To the top left of the first skill would be no picky eater which then leads to the acid rain perk below it. To the bottom right of the first skill would be the night vision one, which then leads to the monkey like speed bonus skill.

Friendship:

It would start with the shoe box skill, then lead to the more spiders per meat skill which leads to the more switcher doodles on the top right and on the main branch to queen decorator, unbreakable friendship with a spider queen requirement next, and then to the unnatural brood and then to the carecrafts.

Web Action:

It would start with the less silk per upgrade skill, then have a side branch for social hunting which then leads to the work skill. Continuing on the main branch would be the silk fashionire, den relocater skill after, silk stitch after that, and finally the silk crafts.

Garden skills:

The garden spiders would be below the friendship branch, either connecting to the branch or require a set amount of skill and another requirement to access.

The other 2 farming skills would be below the Web action section and would work similar to the garden spiders skill.

The affinities would be at the sides or top corners outside the heart. Feel free to change it however you want, this is just a starter idea for the skill tree

So my SkillTree Ideas :

 

1- able to craft Weapon+Armor using silk, monster meat , gold? to be able to finally use the useless gimmick of giving spiders hats , no one uses this feature so this would make it so much better, also the wep could be a whip since its made of silk and monster meat, since all whips r useless smh other than the alarming ,, and their gimmick is having the slowing effects of the webs , attacking mobs slowing them down for few secs , getting attacked while wearing the armor puts a web on ground for few secs slowing all mobs nearby , the armor makes other players gain speed on webs n not be affected by its slow while wearing it plus all spiders become natural to them. the armor has a cooldown on web spawning , and it loses more % when it does spawn , making it risky n not viable to spam in every fight. plus these abilities r able to be added to any other weapon and gear later so it dosnt feel useless compared to anyth else or if u prefer to use specific gear , or maybe making late game gear able to be enchanted by adding these web effects to them js like wormwood with brightshade gear etc.

 

2- Since hes a *monster* this is the most interesting thing for me , so i have so many ideas here js for seeing this sentence alone :

 

- THE WX TREATMENT, WEBBER NOW SEES IN DARKNESS, NO NEED FOR LIGHT SOURCE, since hes literally a spider , and spiders hangout n chill in darkness why shouldn't he be as well? , or if thats too broken then listen , how abt making Spiderhat actually useful for webber ? , now when webber kills a spiderqueen ( u have to land the final hit , ) he unlocks a new item which used to enchant the spiderhat making it have his armor abilities ( the web spawn on hit and slow ) plus have 2 versions of these spiderhats too lol :

 

> now its repairable idk how , but it allows u to see in darkness while wearing it , plus makes other spiderqueens follow u , n u give them orders , now ur the king, plus it acts as an armor 

 

> or the spiderhat makes u transform into somth idk , its not repairable anymore but as long as ur wearing it , u see in darkness plus gives u stat boost , now u can deal dmg without using weapons just like any monster , if i remember correctly the hat lasts for 2 mins so having this transform for 2 mins is fine ig.

 

3- Being able to eat the switches to transform himself into any of the other spider forms for few mins . if he transforms into nurse now he heals both spiders and other players and friendly mobs etc , since hes half spider half kid .

 

4- a buff to switches, now it works on spider nests , so u can have any type of spider spawners anywhere u want , also each switch now transform more than 1 spider instead , so its less grindy and expensive, tbh this one is difficult cz ehat if i dont want my nurse to transform to a warrior? idk maybe this only works on normal spiders ? plus now u could mix them up , giving a *natural* warrior/nurse/spitter etc a switch thats different from his type , it makes him own both abilities, for ex giving a spitter the *nurse switch* makes him a spitter/nurse at same time , only works on unique spiders , plus giving switches give the spiders a stat boost , now using the warrior switch is finally worth it since they gonna have even more HP n dmg than a normal warrior

 

5- few changes to the whistles is what i didnt rlly like , i didnt like how the spiders with webber arent aggressive towards hounds and pigs etc , most of the time i base in middle of 8-9 spider nests , i get attacked by hounds the spiders r chilling they only attack when getting attacked , even the befriended spiders r useless they js sit n watch until i get attacked or attack a hound , there must be a way to use these whistles to force other spiders ( befriended or not ) to go into specific modes also when their mode is changed they dont eat food on ground anymore and focus on their new role :

 

 - for example u can force them to be aggressive js like Abigail, making them immune to all types of fear ( BQ Screeching , klaus etc ) plus now they attack everything on sight without u ordering them to attack anyth specific, very useful as a defense against pigs , hounds anyth to protect webber. 

 

- force them to be passive , now they wont attack anyth even players , unless they get hit by that creature, ( unlike the thing he puts on Spidereggs Its trash , this one wont break the passivity even when attacked they only defend themselves and bk to pssive mode again ).

 

6- the annoying part of webber n makes me think hes a normal character not even a monster is that WHY HE STILL MAKES MEATBALLS AND DISHES LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING ?, i would add 2 sides , js like wortox with naughty and cute , now webber chooses, dark side becomes more spider , the other more human etc , anyway :

 

- the spider makes him gain even more stats from eating non crockpot dishes like raw monster mean , pig skin , raw meat any kind , they now give him much much more hunger maybe 30-40 each 10-15HP and sanity , plus the only dish that still benefits him is the monster lasagna, theres noway this dish is useless even for webber ? , it should give him way more stats maybe 60+ hunger 30HP or somth ( ofc being higher than eating the raw monster meat and pig skin etc, i didnt make the math here js giving ideas )

 

- if u choose to become more human , now ur js the basic webber we have rn , why would u ? , now u get harrased by spiders as well 😂😂 jk , the more human makes u friendly to both spiders and pigs etc , and unable to eat pig skin since ur not a fully monsterey anymore.

 

7- Now he rides SpiderQueens ( not sexually ), js like beefalos, they gain bonus speed when being rided by webber , faster than a normal player with cane , but slower than beefalos, but they have more HP/DMG , and their spider spawning abilities, this is complicated, so idk if riding makes other spiders natural to players , or forcing webber to upgrade the Spiderhat first to be able to ride spiderqueens , also the new spiderhat makes all nearby spiders natural to players .

 

8- being able to craft the web turf now , which makes webber faster and slows all non spider characters/mobs , maybe making them count towards the spider nests range as well ? like if anyth steps on that turf all other spiders nearby or in their nests leave js like when u step on their own webby thing , idk if this is good or bad.

 

9- the shadow/lunar side , adds even more to the spiderhat and the spidernests , gains an ability to upgrade it with endgame stuff , nests and all types transform n become more tanky and able to tank bosses like bearger etc n regen hp, immune to fire , the spiderhat u could combine either the crowns from cc or bone helm or bone armor depending on which side u choose , so now u gonna have the bone armor or helm ability on the new spiderhat or the crown if lunar is chosen, maybe it gets some more effects as well to make it even better as an endgame gear for webber.

2- Since hes a *monster* this is the most interesting thing for me , so i have so many ideas here js for seeing this sentence alone :

 

- THE WX TREATMENT, WEBBER NOW SEES IN DARKNESS, NO NEED FOR LIGHT SOURCE, since hes literally a spider , and spiders hangout n chill in darkness why shouldn't he be as well? , or if thats too broken then listen , how abt making Spiderhat actually useful for webber ? , now when webber kills a spiderqueen ( u have to land the final hit , ) he unlocks a new item which used to enchant the spiderhat making it have his armor abilities ( the web spawn on hit and slow ) plus have 2 versions of these spiderhats too lol :

 

> now its repairable idk how , but it allows u to see in darkness while wearing it , plus makes other spiderqueens follow u , n u give them orders , now ur the king, plus it acts as an armor 

 

> or the spiderhat makes u transform into somth idk , its not repairable anymore but as long as ur wearing it , u see in darkness plus gives u stat boost , now u can deal dmg without using weapons just like any monster , if i remember correctly the hat lasts for 2 mins so having this transform for 2 mins is fine ig.

 

3- Being able to eat the switches to transform himself into any of the other spider forms for few mins . if he transforms into nurse now he heals both spiders and other players and friendly mobs etc , since hes half spider half kid .

 

4- a buff to switches, now it works on spider nests , so u can have any type of spider spawners anywhere u want , also each switch now transform more than 1 spider instead , so its less grindy and expensive, tbh this one is difficult cz ehat if i dont want my nurse to transform to a warrior? idk maybe this only works on normal spiders ? plus now u could mix them up , giving a *natural* warrior/nurse/spitter etc a switch thats different from his type , it makes him own both abilities, for ex giving a spitter the *nurse switch* makes him a spitter/nurse at same time , only works on unique spiders , plus giving switches give the spiders a stat boost , now using the warrior switch is finally worth it since they gonna have even more HP n dmg than a normal warrior

 

5- few changes to the whistles is what i didnt rlly like , i didnt like how the spiders with webber arent aggressive towards hounds and pigs etc , most of the time i base in middle of 8-9 spider nests , i get attacked by hounds the spiders r chilling they only attack when getting attacked , even the befriended spiders r useless they js sit n watch until i get attacked or attack a hound , there must be a way to use these whistles to force other spiders ( befriended or not ) to go into specific modes also when their mode is changed they dont eat food on ground anymore and focus on their new role :

 

 - for example u can force them to be aggressive js like Abigail, making them immune to all types of fear ( BQ Screeching , klaus etc ) plus now they attack everything on sight without u ordering them to attack anyth specific, very useful as a defense against pigs , hounds anyth to protect webber. 

 

- force them to be passive , now they wont attack anyth even players , unless they get hit by that creature, ( unlike the thing he puts on Spidereggs Its trash , this one wont break the passivity even when attacked they only defend themselves and bk to pssive mode again ).

 

6- the annoying part of webber n makes me think hes a normal character not even a monster is that WHY HE STILL MAKES MEATBALLS AND DISHES LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING ?, i would add 2 sides , js like wortox with naughty and cute , now webber chooses, dark side becomes more spider , the other more human etc , anyway :

 

- the spider makes him gain even more stats from eating non crockpot dishes like raw monster mean , pig skin , raw meat any kind , they now give him much much more hunger maybe 30-40 each 10-15HP and sanity , plus the only dish that still benefits him is the monster lasagna, theres noway this dish is useless even for webber ? , it should give him way more stats maybe 60+ hunger 30HP or somth ( ofc being higher than eating the raw monster meat and pig skin etc, i didnt make the math here js giving ideas )

 

- if u choose to become more human , now ur js the basic webber we have rn , why would u ? , now u get harrased by spiders as well 😂😂 jk , the more human makes u friendly to both spiders and pigs etc , and unable to eat pig skin since ur not a fully monsterey anymore.

 

7- Now he rides SpiderQueens ( not sexually ), js like beefalos, they gain bonus speed when being rided by webber , faster than a normal player with cane , but slower than beefalos, but they have more HP/DMG , and their spider spawning abilities, this is complicated, so idk if riding makes other spiders natural to players , or forcing webber to upgrade the Spiderhat first to be able to ride spiderqueens , also the new spiderhat makes all nearby spiders natural to players .

 

8- being able to craft the web turf now , which makes webber faster and slows all non spider characters/mobs , maybe making them count towards the spider nests range as well ? like if anyth steps on that turf all other spiders nearby or in their nests leave js like when u step on their own webby thing , idk if this is good or bad.

 

9- the shadow/lunar side , adds even more to the spiderhat and the spidernests , gains an ability to upgrade it with endgame stuff , nests and all types transform n become more tanky and able to tank bosses like bearger etc n regen hp, immune to fire , the spiderhat u could combine either the crowns from cc or bone helm or bone armor depending on which side u choose , so now u gonna have the bone armor or helm ability on the new spiderhat or the crown if lunar is chosen, maybe it gets some more effects as well to make it even better as an endgame gear for webber.

I don’t Webber is the type to kill a spider queen she’s just a mother and she’s neutral towards Webber so maybe instead you could possibly craft a spider hat with the materials you get when deconstructing it but sense he also wouldn’t kill other spiders so it would have to be merged with a skill like this: 

In the spirit of friendship: When dying with Webber will drop 2 spider glands, Webber can now decorate seven dens with a den decorating set rather than five 

 

Minus the second half 

I also had a idea once upon a time where you give the spider queens your alleys have slain a second chance at life using a red gem or some revival item a turning it into a live spider hat that can eat switcherdoodles the give you other spiders abilities and can be feed meat to repair durability

but I feel like that would encourage you to kill them yourself which although you should have the freedom to do out of character things it shouldn’t be encouraged by the game mechanics

I considered that and even went with it for a while but there’s simply more to work with for the spider side so I’m only making the human related part a smaller part although I do think his skill tree should pull from his past both human and spider

I think based on how how there legs work parred with they’re sheer size and the spider queen form is meant to be a temporary likely energy expensive form used only to spread I don’t think they would be very good mounts and if they were I think they would be a bit too over powered

I like your ideas  I’m going put my skill tree underneath and put possible changes to implement your idea in bold a you tell me what you think:

  • Unbreakable friendship: Make decorated dens  not break when attacked and spiders in the  Bedazzled range only attack attackers and nurses spawn from tier 3+ decorating the den will no longer retract the ground webbing, when not befriended bedazzled spiders will stay within the range of the decorated den I could make so decorated tiers 1-2 you can feed the developing a switcherdoodle so it will only spawn that spider type or make it so the further up it is in tier the number of switcherdoodles you can feed them increases from 1-3 replacing spider spawns in order of normal,warrior,nurse and if you feed more it loop back around to the start

 

 

 

  • Oral obliging : cause spiders to “hammer” by hitting the structure you want to be hammered once in case of a miss click use webby whistle to cancel demolition, they eat yucuse snot now when you’re stuck, can rummage through hound mounds(blue and red gems)/burrows (stolen items as well as rock, Flint, nighter, and gold)/hollow stump (stolen items)/splumonkey pod (stolen items)/marotter den(stolen items)/tidy hidy holes(for collected dust) items gained by rummaging will temporarily be wet due to saliva you can trigger the spiders too start rummaging by blowing the whistle near the thing you want them to rummage through rummaging will be a timed interaction similar to picking a berry bush or going through a scrap pile 
       

 

 

  • Silk fashioner: razors can be used to mark sticky webbing for retraction,if you  place sticky webbing connected to the den and the den still has sticky webbing to use the den will “place” that instead of using your own sticky webbing, you can craft sticky webbing with 2 silk(sticky webbing outside of that I “placed” by the den would trigger spiders to come out)(only crafted sticky webbing drops when using the razor)

 

  • Rapid Growth: Webber can upgrade dens with 4 silk instead of 5 silk

  • Regeneration sensitization:increase stats from nurse spiders for Webber(15 hp)

  • Unnatural brood: You are now able to craft the itsy bitsy nest reusing the baby spiders from the forge and they fill up a Polar Bearger Bin like item called the itsy bitsy nest and they would act as distractions somewhat like the parasitic shading  but the victim wouldn’t be immune to damage you decide if,when,and how many you takeout at a time also depending on what beard skin you have on will determine what they look like  they would look like tiny versions of what spiders from a den that has a queen that looks like that beards respective Webber skin as well as the egg sack having the same color,you get 6 slots with 12-20 second cool down until you can spawn the next one and they would do 9 damage(18 if you feed them electric milk),have 7 hp, upon death one will respawn every 90 seconds 

(You need this to craft the 3 care crafts and after the first 4 uses you need to replace the den decorating set for five more uses each time you run out)

Friendship bracelets: 2 bone shard, six beard hair, and one butterfly used in conjunction with the homemade to revive spiders you bind a spider to a friendship bracelet similar to a beefalo to a Beefalo Bell except you don’t give it a name the next time it dies it drops the friendship bracelet pain on how you wanna go with us at a lower durability, maybe have to be repairable with bone  and if you wanna automate a bit what if it works like  cursed trinkets except instead of being drawn to players it’s drawn to the nearest homemade den and if there’s an open slot, it takes it it can also be used by non-Webber players to make spiders neutral to them by keeping it in one of their inventory slots I could give other players Webber feet through partial spiderfication similar to how accursed trinkets work except you can remove it at any time this could also give other players webbers head legs,spider eyes,and possibly extra hair growth 

do you think I should replace the butterfly and beard hair with electric milk and a little bit of health or at least replace the beard hair with a little bit of health

Totem of friendship: (@Creatingabe1125’s idea) It would work if you have 2 or more spider, and what it would do is reduce damage against a hit based on how many spiders were hit and how many spiders there are. With more spiders meaning more pontential damage reduction against a hit and the more spiders hit the more that damage reduction is granted. However it only works when 2 or more spiders are hit 5-65% damage reduction, there would also be a damage buff The dmg buff would be simple with 0.5 extra dmg per spider upto a maximum of 10 extra dmg. The friendship totem would cost 1 living log, 8 silk, and 1 red gem, and would lose 2% durability per dead spider I could replace this with a upgraded webby whistle that has befriended spiders and those from decorated dens aggro on anything that aggros on a spider or Webber sense this was initially made for spider protection but I would be sad to see the friendship totem go (also under this change Abigails attached to Wendys that have a friendship bracelet on pvp servers won’t aggro on Webber or befriended/bedazzled spider unless Wendy attacks (to account for them just picking on up off the ground or other Webber players) this also applies to wortox’s with a friendship bracelet 

 

homemade den: every time the den has a spider added it lose 1% durability, you can find out how much durability there is by inspecting, and you can repair it using silk but maybe by 2-5%. it has 12 spiders with the inventory of a scaled chest but for spiders only, it’ll take 90 seconds for each spider to respawn it (and how it will respawn a spider after the 90 seconds is the lightning conductor purple gem combination will cause lightning to strike around it the respawned to spider crawl out of the ground like rabbit king as a reference to how you unlock Webber in solo Don’t Starve)

it will spawn that Webbing Wickerbottom spawns with Overcoming Arachnophobia around it, you could also call the spiders out of the den by interacting with it

And it can be broken using a hammer

(craft the homemade den with a purple gem, a lightning conductor, and 2 sticks )

 

 

 

Travel den: it’s a large backpack like item with 4 or 6 general slots, and a hidden 20 slot storage for spiders that can be opened like a polar bin. It also has the down side of slowing you down 10% Along side the general backpack slots there are 2 specialized slots with one containing healing glop for incredibly faster healing regeneration and the other slot is for storing spider food so they Don’t Starve. You can also use your webby whistle to call them out for battle or to call them back in in emergencies or to quickly heal or to just travel with them. It would cost 12 silk, 4 papyrus,

Silk spindle:@blacknight7890 came up with an idea I re named it and changed its look but other then that it’s all there’s Learn to craft a 'Silk spindle', [like a giant spindle with spider hair and  a finial on it (with white string when silk is on it)] a structure that can be placed near decorated spider dens. Spiders will spin webs onto it over time, can be harvested for silk." [passive silk farming]

  • Queen decorator: you can now decorate spider queen that will give her all the same effects of a decorated den(if you have unbreakable friendship, decorations won’t fall off when hit and will only attack attackers), when fighting nearby, spider queen will send over befriended nurse spiders to your aid will change this to a skill called supercolony(I’m not sure weather or not to have the skill and the section be named the same thing) basically you have a new type of decorating set that you can used to tie decorated silk fabric between between decorated dens as if they were lamp post this also straightens their flags you can put homemade dens and farm tiles in the area to create a farm colony type village to become the Lord of the spiders or spider Lord which is the spider equivalent to the benevolent rabbit king and all the other faction leaders and if I’m understanding @Creatingabe1125’s suggestion to the idea, right you could also upgrade a tier 3 den to make a cardboard-like castle that really fits being a creative kid which is Webber’s decoration style also spiders have different roles this village like some more farmers and some are knights/soldiers/Castle guard/Village guard we might need to  redistribute  certain abilities into all their skills

 

  • Animalistic arachnid: Webber has the same all fours running ability as Wilbur and wonkey, when you fight bare handed you use your claws doing double the normal amount of damage

 

  • In the spirit of friendship: When dying with Webber will drop 2 spider glands, Webber can now decorate seven dens with a den decorating set rather than five could change the second half to crafting a spider hat or possibly even the ability to plant spider dens around and aggressive spider queen to have her turn herself into a den herself similar to calming down a tree guard or something else you suggest

 

  • Garden spiders:

(create three new types of switcherdoodles with corresponding new spiders)(you need to successfully harvest and collect two of the corresponding crops to unlock each recipe)(when paired with silk fashioner, you can make farm plots permanently, wet by putting sticky webbing over farm plots if you use a water can on the plot either before or after placing the sticky webbing)

Squirter:  Green Huntsman Spiders have a green grassy pattern almost akin to a watermelon, and use this as camouflage to hide in the foliage and ambush prey that wanders by. In DST, maybe they could be commanded to stay in one spot with lots of plants. When you check in on them later, they may give you some morsels or meat, letting you have a share of whatever animals they were catching offscreen. Their switcherdoodle could be made from watermelons, like the pattern on their abdomen. Attacks by shooting water out its mouth that can also water crops

Switcherdoodle: 3 monster meat, 2 silk, 2 watermelon (20dmg, 200hp)

 

Hydrolysis spider: Black Widows are an infamously venomous spider, able to paralyze and even LIQUEFY their prey, which ranges from small insects all the way to larger animals like lizards and snakes. Coincidentally, the appearance of their eggs is often compared to garlic cloves! In DST, this paralyzation could be implemented in many ways, the easiest being putting mobs to sleep for a few seconds, allowing the other spiders a chance to heal and get in a bunch of damage before they wake back up, with a heavy cooldown following that so they can't just put a mob to sleep over and over. Their switcherdoodle could be made from garlic, like how their eggs look. It can fertilize crops with the liquid remains

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 garlic (20dmg, 400hp)

 

What do you think I should name this it ether has to be [inert word] spider or 1-3 word descriptor with the last word ending with er as the don’t starve spider naming principle goes : Orb Weavers are commonly found on garden plants, and build large circular webs to catch pests. In DST, maybe they could make webs in your gardens to trap the Lord of the Fruit Flies, or even Brightshades? Their switcherdoodle could be made from basically any farm plant, but I'd go with tomatoes to give those a good use as Webber, since they can't be eaten by spiders for healing like veggie-eating followers do. catch all types of bugs in orbs of web and can till (like merms can with a shoddy tool)

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 tomatoes(20dmg, 200hp)

 

 

  • social hunting:  befriended/bedazzled spiders will no longer check items to see if they can eat them so now they won’t eat anything unless you feed them

 

  •   Glop mastery: healing glop animation takes half as long as well as healing over time for twice the healing in total for both Webber and spiders (Webber:8hp+1hp per sec for 8 sec=16hp in total spiders: 80hp+10hp per sec for 8 sec= 160hp in total) 

 

  •   Switcherdoodle stretching: efficiently use ingredients to make 3 times that amount of switcherdoodles when crafted (@Creatingabe1125’s idea)

 

  • Good reputation: when befriending spiders in groups amount of spiders befriended in one feeding increases to 4-6 satisfied with but willing to change 

 

 

   

          

 Alignments:

 

Lunar spider care I: 

The cryptic founder has rewarded your curiosity by giving you the power to reveal a shattered spider’s greater potential. You can also gift your friends some temporary lunar power.

You can now give a shattered spider 2 moon glass to change them into the enlightened spider. They can bite for 20 dmg but can do a psychic attack for 30 dmg if undisturbed for 3 seconds once started and takes another 4 seconds to begin attacking again. Other enlightened spiders can join this attack to deal a stronger hit. When in a group attack, the spiders stay in the psychic state and physically attack every 3 seconds. And if 3 or more spiders join the attack, it will be an aoe attack, with more enlightened spiders increasing the range and damage of it.

You can also craft shattered web-balls with 4 moon glass and 4 silk, which will provide a 10% defense against lunary foes and 5% dmg against shadowy foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they’re stackable and are 1 use.

You can infuse pure brilliance into the web ball, replacing 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended enlightened spiders.

Some other ideas are that you can craft the shattered switcherdoodle with 2 moonrock like how you can use “pig skin?” from hamlet in pig skin recipes and you’d have the recipe unlocked from the start. And befriending an enlightened spider will unlock an enlightened switcher doodle for 1 monster meat, 3 silk, and 3 moon glass.

 

Lunar spider care II: 

 

With a better feel of the moon’s power, wielding any lunar equipment will provide some sense of comfort by reducing the insanity of the world. The cryptic founder has also brightened your creative spirit and you now have the idea for a great battle caller.

When wielding 1 lunar equipment, all negative sanity auras around you and the night are reduced by 10%, 2 lunar equipment makes that 22.5%, and 3 lunar equipment makes that 33%.

You can now craft a new item at the brightsmithy called Webber’s brightle caller for 6 brightshade husks, 4 pure brilliance, 8 silk, and maybe or maybe not a beefalo horn.

The following effects last 1 minute: All spiders, including Webber and spider queens, move 20% faster, while all foes are slowed down by 33%. All non befriended nearby spider and spider queens will target what you target.

It has no durability with a 1 day cooldown, similar to the mudslingers. When used, Webber will play an animation with it, along with 3 quotes/lines that make up a compelling speech, but it sounds more soothing to non spiders, similar to a pan flute.

He can also recruit up to 2 spider queens with the spider queen instantly turning into a nest upon recruitment.

Learn to craft the shadow switcherdoodle which costs 2 monster meat, 3 silk, & 2 nightmare fuel. The shadow spider can double leap or leap mid air after leaping if the target moves. It can also teleport like normal shadows or a 20% chance after landing a hit with a leap. It’s bite is 20 but it’s damage increases by 5 per leap in a leap attack.

You can also craft shadow web-balls that cost 4 nightmare fuel and 4 silk. They provide 10% defense against shadowy foes and 5% dmg against lunary foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they are stackable and are 1 use.

you can infuse it with pure horror, which replaces 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended shadow spiders.

An idea was to unlock the recipe, you’d need to find a spider with a shadow aura while insane, and that spider has a 5% chance to spawn if you haven’t unlocked the switcherdoodle. And if you befriend it, it’ll drop 1 nightmare fuel and give the switcherdoodle recipe.

As you have gotten to understand the shadows, all shadowy equipment will be less demanding on the mind, and all shadowy creatures will seem a bit less threatening. The shadow queen has also nourished your passionate soul, and now have the idea for a soul strengthening cheer.

All shadow equipment will drain or consume 50% less sanity, & shadow creatures or shadow alligned creatures will drain 33% less sanity.

Learn to craft Flags of Rallies at the shadow plinth kit for 5 dark tatters, 4 pure horror, and 6 silk.

It works similarly to the mudslinger, and has a cooldown of 8 minutes.

It’s effects are that for 2 minutes all befriended spiders will gain buffs similar to acid rain, every befriended spider will receive 2-4 waves of +50 health with each wave every 5 seconds (they will all get the same amount of waves and the amount is random), and 5 shadow spiders charged with pure horror will be summoned and stay until they die, when Webber leaves the server, or when Webber uses the Flags of Rallies again to summon 5 new spiders.

The shadow spiders will slowly lose health when not in combat and always have 10 planar dmg on top of their usual dmg. They are not affected by buffs and totems nor do they go to travel dens, though can still be healed by nurses and by Webber.

  These alignment will change, me and @Creatingabe1125 are getting pretty close getting the alinements down but we can try to find a way to implement your ideas in some way 

Organization of skill tree:

A starter is that most of the skill tree would be in a heart shaped background with the friendship side being top left, web action being on the top right, and inner arachnid being at the bottom of the heart.

Inner arachnid:

It’s first skill would be the sleeping den buff, and then it would have 4 skills connected to it.

Below it would be the 2 healing skills. To the top left of the first skill would be no picky eater which then leads to the acid rain perk below it. To the bottom right of the first skill would be the night vision one, which then leads to the monkey like speed bonus skill.

Friendship:

It would start with the shoe box skill, then lead to the more spiders per meat skill which leads to the more switcher doodles on the top right and on the main branch to queen decorator, unbreakable friendship with a spider queen requirement next, and then to the unnatural brood and then to the carecrafts.

Web Action:

It would start with the less silk per upgrade skill, then have a side branch for social hunting which then leads to the work skill. Continuing on the main branch would be the silk fashionire, den relocater skill after, silk stitch after that, and finally the silk crafts.

Garden skills:

The garden spiders would be below the friendship branch, either connecting to the branch or require a set amount of skill and another requirement to access.

The other 2 farming skills would be below the Web action section and would work similar to the garden spiders skill.

The affinities would be at the sides or top corners outside the heart. Feel free to change it however you want, this is just a starter idea for the skill tree

certain things will get redistributed to the super colony section

I also had a idea once upon a time where you give the spider queens your alleys have slain a second chance at life using a red gem or some revival item a turning it into a live spider hat that can eat switcherdoodles the give you other spiders abilities and can be feed meat to repair durability

but I feel like that would encourage you to kill them yourself which although you should have the freedom to do out of character things it shouldn’t be encouraged by the game mechanics 

literally the webber gameplay is him killing his own friends and queens , the fact that spiders eat their own meat monster meat it just shows that they dont care , saying SpiderQueen is mother also wrong, when webber gets attacked she dosnt help, when u attack any spider that dosnt belong to spider queen she dosnt care either, so for me webber is just surviving since hes not just a spider hes half spider half human , i would say him trying to become the spider king and replacing the queens would fit him more , hes not like wurt , wurt she has a king , but webber is the king so its different.

I considered that and even went with it for a while but there’s simply more to work with for the spider side so I’m only making the human related part a smaller part although I do think his skill tree should pull from his past both human and spider

I think based on how how there legs work parred with they’re sheer size and the spider queen form is meant to be a temporary likely energy expensive form used only to spread I don’t think they would be very good mounts and if they were I think they would be a bit too over powered

  • Unbreakable friendship: Make decorated dens  not break when attacked and spiders in the  Bedazzled range only attack attackers and nurses spawn from tier 3+ decorating the den will no longer retract the ground webbing, when not befriended bedazzled spiders will stay within the range of the decorated den I could make so decorated tiers 1-2 you can feed the developing a switcherdoodle so it will only spawn that spider type or make it so the further up it is in tier the number of switcherdoodles you can feed them increases from 1-3 replacing spider spawns in order of normal,warrior,nurse and if you feed more it loop back around to the start

 

 

 

  • Oral obliging : cause spiders to “hammer” by hitting the structure you want to be hammered once in case of a miss click use webby whistle to cancel demolition, they eat yucuse snot now when you’re stuck, can rummage through hound mounds(blue and red gems)/burrows (stolen items as well as rock, Flint, nighter, and gold)/hollow stump (stolen items)/splumonkey pod (stolen items)/marotter den(stolen items)/tidy hidy holes(for collected dust) items gained by rummaging will temporarily be wet due to saliva you can trigger the spiders too start rummaging by blowing the whistle near the thing you want them to rummage through rummaging will be a timed interaction similar to picking a berry bush or going through a scrap pile 
       

 

 

  • Silk fashioner: razors can be used to mark sticky webbing for retraction,if you  place sticky webbing connected to the den and the den still has sticky webbing to use the den will “place” that instead of using your own sticky webbing, you can craft sticky webbing with 2 silk(sticky webbing outside of that I “placed” by the den would trigger spiders to come out)(only crafted sticky webbing drops when using the razor)

 

  • Rapid Growth: Webber can upgrade dens with 4 silk instead of 5 silk

  • Unnatural brood: You are now able to craft the itsy bitsy nest reusing the baby spiders from the forge and they fill up a Polar Bearger Bin like item called the itsy bitsy nest and they would act as distractions somewhat like the parasitic shading  but the victim wouldn’t be immune to damage you decide if,when,and how many you takeout at a time also depending on what beard skin you have on will determine what they look like  they would look like tiny versions of what spiders from a den that has a queen that looks like that beards respective Webber skin as well as the egg sack having the same color,you get 6 slots with 12-20 second cool down until you can spawn the next one and they would do 9 damage(18 if you feed them electric milk),have 7 hp, upon death one will respawn every 90 seconds 

(You need this to craft the 3 care crafts and after the first 4 uses you need to replace the den decorating set for five more uses each time you run out)

Friendship bracelets: 2 bone shard, six beard hair, and one butterfly used in conjunction with the homemade to revive spiders you bind a spider to a friendship bracelet similar to a beefalo to a Beefalo Bell except you don’t give it a name the next time it dies it drops the friendship bracelet pain on how you wanna go with us at a lower durability, maybe have to be repairable with bone  and if you wanna automate a bit what if it works like  cursed trinkets except instead of being drawn to players it’s drawn to the nearest homemade den and if there’s an open slot, it takes it it can also be used by non-Webber players to make spiders neutral to them by keeping it in one of their inventory slots I could give other players Webber feet through partial spiderfication similar to how accursed trinkets work except you can remove it at any time this could also give other players webbers head legs,spider eyes,and possibly extra hair growth 

do you think I should replace the butterfly and beard hair with electric milk and a little bit of health or at least replace the beard hair with a little bit of health

Totem of friendship: (@Creatingabe1125’s idea) It would work if you have 2 or more spider, and what it would do is reduce damage against a hit based on how many spiders were hit and how many spiders there are. With more spiders meaning more pontential damage reduction against a hit and the more spiders hit the more that damage reduction is granted. However it only works when 2 or more spiders are hit 5-65% damage reduction, there would also be a damage buff The dmg buff would be simple with 0.5 extra dmg per spider upto a maximum of 10 extra dmg. The friendship totem would cost 1 living log, 8 silk, and 1 red gem, and would lose 2% durability per dead spider I could replace this with a upgraded webby whistle that has befriended spiders and those from decorated dens aggro on anything that aggros on a spider or Webber sense this was initially made for spider protection but I would be sad to see the friendship totem go (also under this change Abigails attached to Wendys that have a friendship bracelet on pvp servers won’t aggro on Webber or befriended/bedazzled spider unless Wendy attacks (to account for them just picking on up off the ground or other Webber players) this also applies to wortox’s with a friendship bracelet 

 

homemade den: every time the den has a spider added it lose 1% durability, you can find out how much durability there is by inspecting, and you can repair it using silk but maybe by 2-5%. it has 12 spiders with the inventory of a scaled chest but for spiders only, it’ll take 90 seconds for each spider to respawn it (and how it will respawn a spider after the 90 seconds is the lightning conductor purple gem combination will cause lightning to strike around it the respawned to spider crawl out of the ground like rabbit king as a reference to how you unlock Webber in solo Don’t Starve)

it will spawn that Webbing Wickerbottom spawns with Overcoming Arachnophobia around it, you could also call the spiders out of the den by interacting with it

And it can be broken using a hammer

(craft the homemade den with a purple gem, a lightning conductor, and 2 sticks )

 

 

 

Travel den: it’s a large backpack like item with 4 or 6 general slots, and a hidden 20 slot storage for spiders that can be opened like a polar bin. It also has the down side of slowing you down 10% Along side the general backpack slots there are 2 specialized slots with one containing healing glop for incredibly faster healing regeneration and the other slot is for storing spider food so they Don’t Starve. You can also use your webby whistle to call them out for battle or to call them back in in emergencies or to quickly heal or to just travel with them. It would cost 12 silk, 4 papyrus,

Spiders will spin webs onto it over time, can be harvested for silk." [passive silk farming]

  • Animalistic arachnid: Webber has the same all fours running ability as Wilbur and wonkey, when you fight bare handed you use your claws doing double the normal amount of damage

Squirter:  Green Huntsman Spiders have a green grassy pattern almost akin to a watermelon, and use this as camouflage to hide in the foliage and ambush prey that wanders by. In DST, maybe they could be commanded to stay in one spot with lots of plants. When you check in on them later, they may give you some morsels or meat, letting you have a share of whatever animals they were catching offscreen. Their switcherdoodle could be made from watermelons, like the pattern on their abdomen. Attacks by shooting water out its mouth that can also water crops

Hydrolysis spider: Black Widows are an infamously venomous spider, able to paralyze and even LIQUEFY their prey, which ranges from small insects all the way to larger animals like lizards and snakes. Coincidentally, the appearance of their eggs is often compared to garlic cloves! In DST, this paralyzation could be implemented in many ways, the easiest being putting mobs to sleep for a few seconds, allowing the other spiders a chance to heal and get in a bunch of damage before they wake back up, with a heavy cooldown following that so they can't just put a mob to sleep over and over. Their switcherdoodle could be made from garlic, like how their eggs look. It can fertilize crops with the liquid remains

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 garlic (20dmg, 400hp)

 

What do you think I should name this it ether has to be [inert word] spider or 1-3 word descriptor with the last word ending with er as the don’t starve spider naming principle goes : Orb Weavers are commonly found on garden plants, and build large circular webs to catch pests. In DST, maybe they could make webs in your gardens to trap the Lord of the Fruit Flies, or even Brightshades? Their switcherdoodle could be made from basically any farm plant, but I'd go with tomatoes to give those a good use as Webber, since they can't be eaten by spiders for healing like veggie-eating followers do. catch all types of bugs in orbs of web and can till (like merms can with a shoddy tool)

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 tomatoes(20dmg, 200hp)

 

 

  • social hunting:  befriended/bedazzled spiders will no longer check items to see if they can eat them so now they won’t eat anything unless you feed them

 

  •   Glop mastery: healing glop animation takes half as long as well as healing over time for twice the healing in total for both Webber and spiders (Webber:8hp+1hp per sec for 8 sec=16hp in total spiders: 80hp+10hp per sec for 8 sec= 160hp in total) 

 

  •   Switcherdoodle stretching: efficiently use ingredients to make 3 times that amount of switcherdoodles when crafted (@Creatingabe1125’s idea)

 

  • Good reputation: when befriending spiders in groups amount of spiders befriended in one feeding increases to 4-6 satisfied with but willing to change

Lunar spider care I: 

The cryptic founder has rewarded your curiosity by giving you the power to reveal a shattered spider’s greater potential. You can also gift your friends some temporary lunar power.

You can now give a shattered spider 2 moon glass to change them into the enlightened spider. They can bite for 20 dmg but can do a psychic attack for 30 dmg if undisturbed for 3 seconds once started and takes another 4 seconds to begin attacking again. Other enlightened spiders can join this attack to deal a stronger hit. When in a group attack, the spiders stay in the psychic state and physically attack every 3 seconds. And if 3 or more spiders join the attack, it will be an aoe attack, with more enlightened spiders increasing the range and damage of it.

You can also craft shattered web-balls with 4 moon glass and 4 silk, which will provide a 10% defense against lunary foes and 5% dmg against shadowy foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they’re stackable and are 1 use.

You can infuse pure brilliance into the web ball, replacing 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended enlightened spiders.

Some other ideas are that you can craft the shattered switcherdoodle with 2 moonrock like how you can use “pig skin?” from hamlet in pig skin recipes and you’d have the recipe unlocked from the start. And befriending an enlightened spider will unlock an enlightened switcher doodle for 1 monster meat, 3 silk, and 3 moon glass.

 

Lunar spider care II: 

 

With a better feel of the moon’s power, wielding any lunar equipment will provide some sense of comfort by reducing the insanity of the world. The cryptic founder has also brightened your creative spirit and you now have the idea for a great battle caller.

When wielding 1 lunar equipment, all negative sanity auras around you and the night are reduced by 10%, 2 lunar equipment makes that 22.5%, and 3 lunar equipment makes that 33%.

You can now craft a new item at the brightsmithy called Webber’s brightle caller for 6 brightshade husks, 4 pure brilliance, 8 silk, and maybe or maybe not a beefalo horn.

The following effects last 1 minute: All spiders, including Webber and spider queens, move 20% faster, while all foes are slowed down by 33%. All non befriended nearby spider and spider queens will target what you target.

It has no durability with a 1 day cooldown, similar to the mudslingers. When used, Webber will play an animation with it, along with 3 quotes/lines that make up a compelling speech, but it sounds more soothing to non spiders, similar to a pan flute.

It would start with the less silk per upgrade skill, then have a side branch for social hunting which then leads to the work skill. Continuing on the main branch would be the silk fashionire, den relocater skill after, silk stitch after that, and finally the silk crafts.

Garden skills:

The garden spiders would be below the friendship branch, either connecting to the branch or require a set amount of skill and another requirement to access.

The other 2 farming skills would be below the Web action section and would work similar to the garden spiders skill.

The affinities would be at the sides or top corners outside the heart. Feel free to change it however you want, this is just a starter idea for the skill tree

certain things will get redistributed to the super colony section

 

the spider hat is just there no one uses it thats why i wanted to make it useful for webber and also being upgradeable, i like how they made wormwood being able to upgrade his own armor with an endgame armor piece and merging their abilities, i want the same for webber with spider hat , a way to craft spider hat is fine but lets be real this is gonna waste 1 skill point , wasting1 skill point just to " be able to craft spider hats " is very bad , unless they added more depth to it , which we know klei is lazy , so a whole skill just to craft spider hats is bad . 

 

riding queens a bit overpowered? why not he deserves it , webber is being hated for being a noob character+lag character, i would like to see him changing completely just like willow. nothing is " a bit over powered " when we have wortox , wanda and wolfshet etc

I considered that and even went with it for a while but there’s simply more to work with for the spider side so I’m only making the human related part a smaller part although I do think his skill tree should pull from his past both human and spider

I think based on how how there legs work parred with they’re sheer size and the spider queen form is meant to be a temporary likely energy expensive form used only to spread I don’t think they would be very good mounts and if they were I think they would be a bit too over powered

  • Unbreakable friendship: Make decorated dens  not break when attacked and spiders in the  Bedazzled range only attack attackers and nurses spawn from tier 3+ decorating the den will no longer retract the ground webbing, when not befriended bedazzled spiders will stay within the range of the decorated den I could make so decorated tiers 1-2 you can feed the developing a switcherdoodle so it will only spawn that spider type or make it so the further up it is in tier the number of switcherdoodles you can feed them increases from 1-3 replacing spider spawns in order of normal,warrior,nurse and if you feed more it loop back around to the start

 

 

 

  • Oral obliging : cause spiders to “hammer” by hitting the structure you want to be hammered once in case of a miss click use webby whistle to cancel demolition, they eat yucuse snot now when you’re stuck, can rummage through hound mounds(blue and red gems)/burrows (stolen items as well as rock, Flint, nighter, and gold)/hollow stump (stolen items)/splumonkey pod (stolen items)/marotter den(stolen items)/tidy hidy holes(for collected dust) items gained by rummaging will temporarily be wet due to saliva you can trigger the spiders too start rummaging by blowing the whistle near the thing you want them to rummage through rummaging will be a timed interaction similar to picking a berry bush or going through a scrap pile

  • Unnatural brood: You are now able to craft the itsy bitsy nest reusing the baby spiders from the forge and they fill up a Polar Bearger Bin like item called the itsy bitsy nest and they would act as distractions somewhat like the parasitic shading  but the victim wouldn’t be immune to damage you decide if,when,and how many you takeout at a time also depending on what beard skin you have on will determine what they look like  they would look like tiny versions of what spiders from a den that has a queen that looks like that beards respective Webber skin as well as the egg sack having the same color,you get 6 slots with 12-20 second cool down until you can spawn the next one and they would do 9 damage(18 if you feed them electric milk),have 7 hp, upon death one will respawn every 90 seconds 

(You need this to craft the 3 care crafts and after the first 4 uses you need to replace the den decorating set for five more uses each time you run out)

Totem of friendship: (@Creatingabe1125’s idea) It would work if you have 2 or more spider, and what it would do is reduce damage against a hit based on how many spiders were hit and how many spiders there are. With more spiders meaning more pontential damage reduction against a hit and the more spiders hit the more that damage reduction is granted. However it only works when 2 or more spiders are hit 5-65% damage reduction, there would also be a damage buff The dmg buff would be simple with 0.5 extra dmg per spider upto a maximum of 10 extra dmg. The friendship totem would cost 1 living log, 8 silk, and 1 red gem, and would lose 2% durability per dead spider I could replace this with a upgraded webby whistle that has befriended spiders and those from decorated dens aggro on anything that aggros on a spider or Webber sense this was initially made for spider protection but I would be sad to see the friendship totem go (also under this change Abigails attached to Wendys that have a friendship bracelet on pvp servers won’t aggro on Webber or befriended/bedazzled spider unless Wendy attacks (to account for them just picking on up off the ground or other Webber players) this also applies to wortox’s with a friendship bracelet 

 

homemade den: every time the den has a spider added it lose 1% durability, you can find out how much durability there is by inspecting, and you can repair it using silk but maybe by 2-5%. it has 12 spiders with the inventory of a scaled chest but for spiders only, it’ll take 90 seconds for each spider to respawn it (and how it will respawn a spider after the 90 seconds is the lightning conductor purple gem combination will cause lightning to strike around it the respawned to spider crawl out of the ground like rabbit king as a reference to how you unlock Webber in solo Don’t Starve)

it will spawn that Webbing Wickerbottom spawns with Overcoming Arachnophobia around it, you could also call the spiders out of the den by interacting with it

And it can be broken using a hammer

(craft the homemade den with a purple gem, a lightning conductor, and 2 sticks )

 

 

 

Travel den: it’s a large backpack like item with 4 or 6 general slots, and a hidden 20 slot storage for spiders that can be opened like a polar bin. It also has the down side of slowing you down 10% Along side the general backpack slots there are 2 specialized slots with one containing healing glop for incredibly faster healing regeneration and the other slot is for storing spider food so they Don’t Starve. You can also use your webby whistle to call them out for battle or to call them back in in emergencies or to quickly heal or to just travel with them. It would cost 12 silk, 4 papyrus,

Silk spindle:@blacknight7890 came up with an idea I re named it and changed its look but other then that it’s all there’s Learn to craft a 'Silk spindle', [like a giant spindle with spider hair and  a finial on it (with white string when silk is on it)] a structure that can be placed near decorated spider dens. Spiders will spin webs onto it over time, can be harvested for silk." [passive silk farming]

  • Queen decorator: you can now decorate spider queen that will give her all the same effects of a decorated den(if you have unbreakable friendship, decorations won’t fall off when hit and will only attack attackers), when fighting nearby, spider queen will send over befriended nurse spiders to your aid will change this to a skill called supercolony(I’m not sure weather or not to have the skill and the section be named the same thing) basically you have a new type of decorating set that you can used to tie decorated silk fabric between between decorated dens as if they were lamp post this also straightens their flags you can put homemade dens and farm tiles in the area to create a farm colony type village to become the Lord of the spiders or spider Lord which is the spider equivalent to the benevolent rabbit king and all the other faction leaders and if I’m understanding @Creatingabe1125’s suggestion to the idea, right you could also upgrade a tier 3 den to make a cardboard-like castle that really fits being a creative kid which is Webber’s decoration style also spiders have different roles this village like some more farmers and some are knights/soldiers/Castle guard/Village guard we might need to  redistribute  certain abilities into all their skills

 

  • Animalistic arachnid: Webber has the same all fours running ability as Wilbur and wonkey, when you fight bare handed you use your claws doing double the normal amount of damage

 

  • In the spirit of friendship: When dying with Webber will drop 2 spider glands, Webber can now decorate seven dens with a den decorating set rather than five could change the second half to crafting a spider hat or possibly even the ability to plant spider dens around and aggressive spider queen to have her turn herself into a den herself similar to calming down a tree guard or something else you suggest

 

  • Garden spiders:

(create three new types of switcherdoodles with corresponding new spiders)(you need to successfully harvest and collect two of the corresponding crops to unlock each recipe)(when paired with silk fashioner, you can make farm plots permanently, wet by putting sticky webbing over farm plots if you use a water can on the plot either before or after placing the sticky webbing)

Squirter:  Green Huntsman Spiders have a green grassy pattern almost akin to a watermelon, and use this as camouflage to hide in the foliage and ambush prey that wanders by. In DST, maybe they could be commanded to stay in one spot with lots of plants. When you check in on them later, they may give you some morsels or meat, letting you have a share of whatever animals they were catching offscreen. Their switcherdoodle could be made from watermelons, like the pattern on their abdomen. Attacks by shooting water out its mouth that can also water crops

Switcherdoodle: 3 monster meat, 2 silk, 2 watermelon (20dmg, 200hp)

 

Hydrolysis spider: Black Widows are an infamously venomous spider, able to paralyze and even LIQUEFY their prey, which ranges from small insects all the way to larger animals like lizards and snakes. Coincidentally, the appearance of their eggs is often compared to garlic cloves! In DST, this paralyzation could be implemented in many ways, the easiest being putting mobs to sleep for a few seconds, allowing the other spiders a chance to heal and get in a bunch of damage before they wake back up, with a heavy cooldown following that so they can't just put a mob to sleep over and over. Their switcherdoodle could be made from garlic, like how their eggs look. It can fertilize crops with the liquid remains

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 garlic (20dmg, 400hp)

 

What do you think I should name this it ether has to be [inert word] spider or 1-3 word descriptor with the last word ending with er as the don’t starve spider naming principle goes : Orb Weavers are commonly found on garden plants, and build large circular webs to catch pests. In DST, maybe they could make webs in your gardens to trap the Lord of the Fruit Flies, or even Brightshades? Their switcherdoodle could be made from basically any farm plant, but I'd go with tomatoes to give those a good use as Webber, since they can't be eaten by spiders for healing like veggie-eating followers do. catch all types of bugs in orbs of web and can till (like merms can with a shoddy tool)

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 tomatoes(20dmg, 200hp)

 

 

  • social hunting:  befriended/bedazzled spiders will no longer check items to see if they can eat them so now they won’t eat anything unless you feed them

 

  •   Glop mastery: healing glop animation takes half as long as well as healing over time for twice the healing in total for both Webber and spiders (Webber:8hp+1hp per sec for 8 sec=16hp in total spiders: 80hp+10hp per sec for 8 sec= 160hp in total) 

 

  •   Switcherdoodle stretching: efficiently use ingredients to make 3 times that amount of switcherdoodles when crafted (@Creatingabe1125’s idea)

 

  • Good reputation: when befriending spiders in groups amount of spiders befriended in one feeding increases to 4-6 satisfied with but willing to change

Lunar spider care I: 

The cryptic founder has rewarded your curiosity by giving you the power to reveal a shattered spider’s greater potential. You can also gift your friends some temporary lunar power.

You can now give a shattered spider 2 moon glass to change them into the enlightened spider. They can bite for 20 dmg but can do a psychic attack for 30 dmg if undisturbed for 3 seconds once started and takes another 4 seconds to begin attacking again. Other enlightened spiders can join this attack to deal a stronger hit. When in a group attack, the spiders stay in the psychic state and physically attack every 3 seconds. And if 3 or more spiders join the attack, it will be an aoe attack, with more enlightened spiders increasing the range and damage of it.

You can also craft shattered web-balls with 4 moon glass and 4 silk, which will provide a 10% defense against lunary foes and 5% dmg against shadowy foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they’re stackable and are 1 use.

You can infuse pure brilliance into the web ball, replacing 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended enlightened spiders.

Some other ideas are that you can craft the shattered switcherdoodle with 2 moonrock like how you can use “pig skin?” from hamlet in pig skin recipes and you’d have the recipe unlocked from the start. And befriending an enlightened spider will unlock an enlightened switcher doodle for 1 monster meat, 3 silk, and 3 moon glass.

 

Lunar spider care II: 

 

With a better feel of the moon’s power, wielding any lunar equipment will provide some sense of comfort by reducing the insanity of the world. The cryptic founder has also brightened your creative spirit and you now have the idea for a great battle caller.

When wielding 1 lunar equipment, all negative sanity auras around you and the night are reduced by 10%, 2 lunar equipment makes that 22.5%, and 3 lunar equipment makes that 33%.

You can now craft a new item at the brightsmithy called Webber’s brightle caller for 6 brightshade husks, 4 pure brilliance, 8 silk, and maybe or maybe not a beefalo horn.

The following effects last 1 minute: All spiders, including Webber and spider queens, move 20% faster, while all foes are slowed down by 33%. All non befriended nearby spider and spider queens will target what you target.

It has no durability with a 1 day cooldown, similar to the mudslingers. When used, Webber will play an animation with it, along with 3 quotes/lines that make up a compelling speech, but it sounds more soothing to non spiders, similar to a pan flute.

He can also recruit up to 2 spider queens with the spider queen instantly turning into a nest upon recruitment.

The following effects last 2 minutes: If you’ve recruited spider queens before use, 1 or 2 spider queens depending on how many you recruited, will rise from the ground as shattered queens, and has the same stats as normal spider queens, except they obey your most recent command, can summon shattered spiders, and deals 40 dmg along with 20 planar dmg. Enlightened spiders will gain 5 additional planar dmg.

 

 

shadow spider care I:

 

The shadow queen has rewarded your loyalty by granting you the darkest and most cunning of spiders. You can also gift your friends some temporary power of the shadows.

Learn to craft the shadow switcherdoodle which costs 2 monster meat, 3 silk, & 2 nightmare fuel. The shadow spider can double leap or leap mid air after leaping if the target moves. It can also teleport like normal shadows or a 20% chance after landing a hit with a leap. It’s bite is 20 but it’s damage increases by 5 per leap in a leap attack.

You can also craft shadow web-balls that cost 4 nightmare fuel and 4 silk. They provide 10% defense against shadowy foes and 5% dmg against lunary foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they are stackable and are 1 use.

you can infuse it with pure horror, which replaces 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended shadow spiders.

An idea was to unlock the recipe, you’d need to find a spider with a shadow aura while insane, and that spider has a 5% chance to spawn if you haven’t unlocked the switcherdoodle. And if you befriend it, it’ll drop 1 nightmare fuel and give the switcherdoodle recipe.

 

shadow spider care II:

 

As you have gotten to understand the shadows, all shadowy equipment will be less demanding on the mind, and all shadowy creatures will seem a bit less threatening. The shadow queen has also nourished your passionate soul, and now have the idea for a soul strengthening cheer.

All shadow equipment will drain or consume 50% less sanity, & shadow creatures or shadow alligned creatures will drain 33% less sanity.

Learn to craft Flags of Rallies at the shadow plinth kit for 5 dark tatters, 4 pure horror, and 6 silk.

It works similarly to the mudslinger, and has a cooldown of 8 minutes.

It’s effects are that for 2 minutes all befriended spiders will gain buffs similar to acid rain, every befriended spider will receive 2-4 waves of +50 health with each wave every 5 seconds (they will all get the same amount of waves and the amount is random), and 5 shadow spiders charged with pure horror will be summoned and stay until they die, when Webber leaves the server, or when Webber uses the Flags of Rallies again to summon 5 new spiders.

The shadow spiders will slowly lose health when not in combat and always have 10 planar dmg on top of their usual dmg. They are not affected by buffs and totems nor do they go to travel dens, though can still be healed by nurses and by Webber.

  These alignment will change, me and @Creatingabe1125 are getting pretty close getting the alinements down but we can try to find a way to implement your ideas in some way 

Organization of skill tree:

A starter is that most of the skill tree would be in a heart shaped background with the friendship side being top left, web action being on the top right, and inner arachnid being at the bottom of the heart.

Inner arachnid:

It’s first skill would be the sleeping den buff, and then it would have 4 skills connected to it.

Below it would be the 2 healing skills. To the top left of the first skill would be no picky eater which then leads to the acid rain perk below it. To the bottom right of the first skill would be the night vision one, which then leads to the monkey like speed bonus skill.

Friendship:

It would start with the shoe box skill, then lead to the more spiders per meat skill which leads to the more switcher doodles on the top right and on the main branch to queen decorator, unbreakable friendship with a spider queen requirement next, and then to the unnatural brood and then to the carecrafts.

i hated the mudslinger so bad , the 2 min effect is too low and the 8 mins cooldown is too long , tbh a skill like upgrading dens for 4 silk instead of 5 just remove it we all hate these kind of skills , cz they just waste a slot instead of being an actual good skill its a wasted potential, or add more depth to ot for example now it costs 4 but add a buff to webber or to the dens themselves as well , not only making it cost 4 ,

  • Unnatural brood: You are now able to craft the itsy bitsy nest reusing the baby spiders from the forge and they fill up a Polar Bearger Bin like item called the itsy bitsy nest and they would act as distractions somewhat like the parasitic shading  but the victim wouldn’t be immune to damage you decide if,when,and how many you takeout at a time also depending on what beard skin you have on will determine what they look like  they would look like tiny versions of what spiders from a den that has a queen that looks like that beards respective Webber skin as well as the egg sack having the same color,you get 6 slots with 12-20 second cool down until you can spawn the next one and they would do 9 damage(18 if you feed them electric milk),have 7 hp, upon death one will respawn every 90 seconds 

(You need this to craft the 3 care crafts and after the first 4 uses you need to replace the den decorating set for five more uses each time you run out)

Friendship bracelets: 2 bone shard, six beard hair, and one butterfly used in conjunction with the homemade to revive spiders you bind a spider to a friendship bracelet similar to a beefalo to a Beefalo Bell except you don’t give it a name the next time it dies it drops the friendship bracelet pain on how you wanna go with us at a lower durability, maybe have to be repairable with bone  and if you wanna automate a bit what if it works like  cursed trinkets except instead of being drawn to players it’s drawn to the nearest homemade den and if there’s an open slot, it takes it it can also be used by non-Webber players to make spiders neutral to them by keeping it in one of their inventory slots I could give other players Webber feet through partial spiderfication similar to how accursed trinkets work except you can remove it at any time this could also give other players webbers head legs,spider eyes,and possibly extra hair growth 

do you think I should replace the butterfly and beard hair with electric milk and a little bit of health or at least replace the beard hair with a little bit of health

Totem of friendship: (@Creatingabe1125’s idea) It would work if you have 2 or more spider, and what it would do is reduce damage against a hit based on how many spiders were hit and how many spiders there are. With more spiders meaning more pontential damage reduction against a hit and the more spiders hit the more that damage reduction is granted. However it only works when 2 or more spiders are hit 5-65% damage reduction, there would also be a damage buff The dmg buff would be simple with 0.5 extra dmg per spider upto a maximum of 10 extra dmg. The friendship totem would cost 1 living log, 8 silk, and 1 red gem, and would lose 2% durability per dead spider I could replace this with a upgraded webby whistle that has befriended spiders and those from decorated dens aggro on anything that aggros on a spider or Webber sense this was initially made for spider protection but I would be sad to see the friendship totem go (also under this change Abigails attached to Wendys that have a friendship bracelet on pvp servers won’t aggro on Webber or befriended/bedazzled spider unless Wendy attacks (to account for them just picking on up off the ground or other Webber players) this also applies to wortox’s with a friendship bracelet 

 

homemade den: every time the den has a spider added it lose 1% durability, you can find out how much durability there is by inspecting, and you can repair it using silk but maybe by 2-5%. it has 12 spiders with the inventory of a scaled chest but for spiders only, it’ll take 90 seconds for each spider to respawn it (and how it will respawn a spider after the 90 seconds is the lightning conductor purple gem combination will cause lightning to strike around it the respawned to spider crawl out of the ground like rabbit king as a reference to how you unlock Webber in solo Don’t Starve)

it will spawn that Webbing Wickerbottom spawns with Overcoming Arachnophobia around it, you could also call the spiders out of the den by interacting with it

And it can be broken using a hammer

(craft the homemade den with a purple gem, a lightning conductor, and 2 sticks )

 

 

 

Travel den: it’s a large backpack like item with 4 or 6 general slots, and a hidden 20 slot storage for spiders that can be opened like a polar bin. It also has the down side of slowing you down 10% Along side the general backpack slots there are 2 specialized slots with one containing healing glop for incredibly faster healing regeneration and the other slot is for storing spider food so they Don’t Starve. You can also use your webby whistle to call them out for battle or to call them back in in emergencies or to quickly heal or to just travel with them. It would cost 12 silk, 4 papyrus,

Web net: eight silk, a certain number of scrap ,and one electric milk it’s like a less powerful shadow prison that does damage over the time depending on how big the creature is caught in it they will stay trapped for 5 to 10 minutes with a 30 second cooldown electric unnatural energy damages them overtime

 

Silk spindle:@blacknight7890 came up with an idea I re named it and changed its look but other then that it’s all there’s Learn to craft a 'Silk spindle', [like a giant spindle with spider hair and  a finial on it (with white string when silk is on it)] a structure that can be placed near decorated spider dens. Spiders will spin webs onto it over time, can be harvested for silk." [passive silk farming]

  • Spider Goatherder: learn to milk volt goats with empty bottles, volt goats won’t be disturbed by Webber anymore and calm charged volt goats by feeding them any number of Wobsters, bananas,meat,Burch nuts, pomegranates,eggs, Asparagus, pumpkin seeds (doing this while not charged will make them follow you for a short period time to allow for easier relocation)

  • Queen decorator: you can now decorate spider queen that will give her all the same effects of a decorated den(if you have unbreakable friendship, decorations won’t fall off when hit and will only attack attackers), when fighting nearby, spider queen will send over befriended nurse spiders to your aid will change this to a skill called supercolony(I’m not sure weather or not to have the skill and the section be named the same thing) basically you have a new type of decorating set that you can used to tie decorated silk fabric between between decorated dens as if they were lamp post this also straightens their flags you can put homemade dens and farm tiles in the area to create a farm colony type village to become the Lord of the spiders or spider Lord which is the spider equivalent to the benevolent rabbit king and all the other faction leaders and if I’m understanding @Creatingabe1125’s suggestion to the idea, right you could also upgrade a tier 3 den to make a cardboard-like castle that really fits being a creative kid which is Webber’s decoration style also spiders have different roles this village like some more farmers and some are knights/soldiers/Castle guard/Village guard we might need to  redistribute  certain abilities into all their skills

 

  • Animalistic arachnid: Webber has the same all fours running ability as Wilbur and wonkey, when you fight bare handed you use your claws doing double the normal amount of damage

 

  • In the spirit of friendship: When dying with Webber will drop 2 spider glands, Webber can now decorate seven dens with a den decorating set rather than five could change the second half to crafting a spider hat or possibly even the ability to plant spider dens around and aggressive spider queen to have her turn herself into a den herself similar to calming down a tree guard or something else you suggest

 

  • Garden spiders:

(create three new types of switcherdoodles with corresponding new spiders)(you need to successfully harvest and collect two of the corresponding crops to unlock each recipe)(when paired with silk fashioner, you can make farm plots permanently, wet by putting sticky webbing over farm plots if you use a water can on the plot either before or after placing the sticky webbing)

Squirter:  Green Huntsman Spiders have a green grassy pattern almost akin to a watermelon, and use this as camouflage to hide in the foliage and ambush prey that wanders by. In DST, maybe they could be commanded to stay in one spot with lots of plants. When you check in on them later, they may give you some morsels or meat, letting you have a share of whatever animals they were catching offscreen. Their switcherdoodle could be made from watermelons, like the pattern on their abdomen. Attacks by shooting water out its mouth that can also water crops

Switcherdoodle: 3 monster meat, 2 silk, 2 watermelon (20dmg, 200hp)

 

Hydrolysis spider: Black Widows are an infamously venomous spider, able to paralyze and even LIQUEFY their prey, which ranges from small insects all the way to larger animals like lizards and snakes. Coincidentally, the appearance of their eggs is often compared to garlic cloves! In DST, this paralyzation could be implemented in many ways, the easiest being putting mobs to sleep for a few seconds, allowing the other spiders a chance to heal and get in a bunch of damage before they wake back up, with a heavy cooldown following that so they can't just put a mob to sleep over and over. Their switcherdoodle could be made from garlic, like how their eggs look. It can fertilize crops with the liquid remains

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 garlic (20dmg, 400hp)

 

What do you think I should name this it ether has to be [inert word] spider or 1-3 word descriptor with the last word ending with er as the don’t starve spider naming principle goes : Orb Weavers are commonly found on garden plants, and build large circular webs to catch pests. In DST, maybe they could make webs in your gardens to trap the Lord of the Fruit Flies, or even Brightshades? Their switcherdoodle could be made from basically any farm plant, but I'd go with tomatoes to give those a good use as Webber, since they can't be eaten by spiders for healing like veggie-eating followers do. catch all types of bugs in orbs of web and can till (like merms can with a shoddy tool)

Switcherdoodle: 2 monster meat, 3 silk, 2 tomatoes(20dmg, 200hp)

 

 

  • social hunting:  befriended/bedazzled spiders will no longer check items to see if they can eat them so now they won’t eat anything unless you feed them

 

  •   Glop mastery: healing glop animation takes half as long as well as healing over time for twice the healing in total for both Webber and spiders (Webber:8hp+1hp per sec for 8 sec=16hp in total spiders: 80hp+10hp per sec for 8 sec= 160hp in total) 

 

  •   Switcherdoodle stretching: efficiently use ingredients to make 3 times that amount of switcherdoodles when crafted (@Creatingabe1125’s idea)

 

  • Good reputation: when befriending spiders in groups amount of spiders befriended in one feeding increases to 4-6 satisfied with but willing to change 

 

 

   

          

 Alignments:

 

Lunar spider care I: 

The cryptic founder has rewarded your curiosity by giving you the power to reveal a shattered spider’s greater potential. You can also gift your friends some temporary lunar power.

You can now give a shattered spider 2 moon glass to change them into the enlightened spider. They can bite for 20 dmg but can do a psychic attack for 30 dmg if undisturbed for 3 seconds once started and takes another 4 seconds to begin attacking again. Other enlightened spiders can join this attack to deal a stronger hit. When in a group attack, the spiders stay in the psychic state and physically attack every 3 seconds. And if 3 or more spiders join the attack, it will be an aoe attack, with more enlightened spiders increasing the range and damage of it.

You can also craft shattered web-balls with 4 moon glass and 4 silk, which will provide a 10% defense against lunary foes and 5% dmg against shadowy foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they’re stackable and are 1 use.

You can infuse pure brilliance into the web ball, replacing 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended enlightened spiders.

Some other ideas are that you can craft the shattered switcherdoodle with 2 moonrock like how you can use “pig skin?” from hamlet in pig skin recipes and you’d have the recipe unlocked from the start. And befriending an enlightened spider will unlock an enlightened switcher doodle for 1 monster meat, 3 silk, and 3 moon glass.

 

Lunar spider care II: 

 

With a better feel of the moon’s power, wielding any lunar equipment will provide some sense of comfort by reducing the insanity of the world. The cryptic founder has also brightened your creative spirit and you now have the idea for a great battle caller.

When wielding 1 lunar equipment, all negative sanity auras around you and the night are reduced by 10%, 2 lunar equipment makes that 22.5%, and 3 lunar equipment makes that 33%.

You can now craft a new item at the brightsmithy called Webber’s brightle caller for 6 brightshade husks, 4 pure brilliance, 8 silk, and maybe or maybe not a beefalo horn.

The following effects last 1 minute: All spiders, including Webber and spider queens, move 20% faster, while all foes are slowed down by 33%. All non befriended nearby spider and spider queens will target what you target.

It has no durability with a 1 day cooldown, similar to the mudslingers. When used, Webber will play an animation with it, along with 3 quotes/lines that make up a compelling speech, but it sounds more soothing to non spiders, similar to a pan flute.

He can also recruit up to 2 spider queens with the spider queen instantly turning into a nest upon recruitment.

The following effects last 2 minutes: If you’ve recruited spider queens before use, 1 or 2 spider queens depending on how many you recruited, will rise from the ground as shattered queens, and has the same stats as normal spider queens, except they obey your most recent command, can summon shattered spiders, and deals 40 dmg along with 20 planar dmg. Enlightened spiders will gain 5 additional planar dmg.

 

 

shadow spider care I:

 

The shadow queen has rewarded your loyalty by granting you the darkest and most cunning of spiders. You can also gift your friends some temporary power of the shadows.

Learn to craft the shadow switcherdoodle which costs 2 monster meat, 3 silk, & 2 nightmare fuel. The shadow spider can double leap or leap mid air after leaping if the target moves. It can also teleport like normal shadows or a 20% chance after landing a hit with a leap. It’s bite is 20 but it’s damage increases by 5 per leap in a leap attack.

You can also craft shadow web-balls that cost 4 nightmare fuel and 4 silk. They provide 10% defense against shadowy foes and 5% dmg against lunary foes to all befriended spiders. The effect lasts for 2 minutes and has a cooldown of 4, but they are stackable and are 1 use.

you can infuse it with pure horror, which replaces 5 dmg with 5 planar dmg for all befriended shadow spiders.

An idea was to unlock the recipe, you’d need to find a spider with a shadow aura while insane, and that spider has a 5% chance to spawn if you haven’t unlocked the switcherdoodle. And if you befriend it, it’ll drop 1 nightmare fuel and give the switcherdoodle recipe.

 

shadow spider care II:

 

As you have gotten to understand the shadows, all shadowy equipment will be less demanding on the mind, and all shadowy creatures will seem a bit less threatening. The shadow queen has also nourished your passionate soul, and now have the idea for a soul strengthening cheer.

All shadow equipment will drain or consume 50% less sanity, & shadow creatures or shadow alligned creatures will drain 33% less sanity.

Learn to craft Flags of Rallies at the shadow plinth kit for 5 dark tatters, 4 pure horror, and 6 silk.

It works similarly to the mudslinger, and has a cooldown of 8 minutes.

It’s effects are that for 2 minutes all befriended spiders will gain buffs similar to acid rain, every befriended spider will receive 2-4 waves of +50 health with each wave every 5 seconds (they will all get the same amount of waves and the amount is random), and 5 shadow spiders charged with pure horror will be summoned and stay until they die, when Webber leaves the server, or when Webber uses the Flags of Rallies again to summon 5 new spiders.

The shadow spiders will slowly lose health when not in combat and always have 10 planar dmg on top of their usual dmg. They are not affected by buffs and totems nor do they go to travel dens, though can still be healed by nurses and by Webber.

  These alignment will change, me and @Creatingabe1125 are getting pretty close getting the alinements down but we can try to find a way to implement your ideas in some way 

Organization of skill tree:

A starter is that most of the skill tree would be in a heart shaped background with the friendship side being top left, web action being on the top right, and inner arachnid being at the bottom of the heart.

Inner arachnid:

It’s first skill would be the sleeping den buff, and then it would have 4 skills connected to it.

Below it would be the 2 healing skills. To the top left of the first skill would be no picky eater which then leads to the acid rain perk below it. To the bottom right of the first skill would be the night vision one, which then leads to the monkey like speed bonus skill.

Friendship:

It would start with the shoe box skill, then lead to the more spiders per meat skill which leads to the more switcher doodles on the top right and on the main branch to queen decorator, unbreakable friendship with a spider queen requirement next, and then to the unnatural brood and then to the carecrafts.

Web Action:

It would start with the less silk per upgrade skill, then have a side branch for social hunting which then leads to the work skill. Continuing on the main branch would be the silk fashionire, den relocater skill after, silk stitch after that, and finally the silk crafts.

Garden skills:

The garden spiders would be below the friendship branch, either connecting to the branch or require a set amount of skill and another requirement to access.

The other 2 farming skills would be below the Web action section and would work similar to the garden spiders skill.

The affinities would be at the sides or top corners outside the heart. Feel free to change it however you want, this is just a starter idea for the skill tree

anything that slows down is terrible and shouldnever be in the game , so the backpack is very useless , it should either be normal speed or makes webber faster , slower is a red flag and nobody will use it .

 

one of the main issues with webber is being able to give hats to spiders , but guess what its useless , its like using mutliple hats at the same time u basically waste too much progress and resources for doing so , and thats why nobody does this cz its useless , 

 

so the skilltree must fix this issue and makes hats actually useful and worth doing on spiders , other than the armor i suggested in my skilltree , how abt a skill that makes hats on spiders have more durability and also makes hats like *top hat or miner hat* last longer , any hat that does get destroyed or run out in specific time , it makes them last way longer while placed on spiders , for example, if top hat on spiders gets destroyed after 6 days , it would last for 30+ days on spiders , miner hat lasts for players for 6 or more nights ? , make it the same thing for spiders so u could actually give them miner hats and be useful, more variety is always good , also make it so that when placed on spiders it only activate if it detects darkness , so it dosnt waste fuel during day . 

 

also i would rly love if we could give them body armor and weapons as well , weapons and tools to mine etc , or weapons to increase their dmg ,

Making it last longer and having an ability it should already have any would make more sense with fingers isn’t really something that makes giving them hats worth it maybe have different roles tide to new abilities they can do instead

Based on their body type I think only hats and grills would work but we could make spider specific hats that have tools or (weapons, if we don’t use the grills as weapons) other useful things attached so they can do new things or things better or hats with more coverages for that body armor you were mentioned
