ADM
I'm very glad Support Pillars made it to help against debris. I wanted it not because "everything needs a counter" as some summed-up that to. Everything has to be handled with case by case approaches and treatments. For quakes, it felt only as essential as wildfire protection to me especially with this so evident solution that was taunting me for so long, only increased with rift changes, it's finally here ! But, as if there was always a but and I'm sorry... I supported from the start having worldgen pillars and staircases to also benefit from the effect, it is currently not the case : I happen to have accumulated a few reasons and deaths as for why it would be better... but I lost count of how many times I got snipped by debris bouncing off pillars, or me getting killed by quakes after loading with no form of invulnerability finger crossed, the so far unfortunate placement of some in my world as there is no control of their spawn / density in world settings (wouldn't it be better if they were setpieces with some space between?), assigned along a lack of utility if at best a reckonable fancy decoration or at worse something bothering your building plans (and blocking the pathing of Hutch and the dozen of Splumonkeys behind you getting stuck between two), not offering some expected protection that would enhance certain biomes' experience. I also want to note that the prevention of rift boulders spawning over structures it still here... now that the foundations are done, it may be preferable to remove this feature that feels way too much like a placeholder to the eyes. That will be all related to pillars in my perspective, I can tell the Support Pillars may see some changes as the beta happened a bit too fast for them to be completed as it seems they have many animation glitches and some cracking properties, will that be tied to their protection too ? I guess we'll see, but I'm sure looking forward what dope skins they come out with.
Habakkuk
Thank you ADM for help us get pilars!
Notecja
Would be pretty welcome. With spots to hide and be safe, and ability to add that spots, it could change a (a bit stale) caves gameplay. Maybe we could get as well more different earthquakes?
Masked Koopa
I am greatly looking forward to pillars, I cannot wait to fill my caves with them so I don't have to see a bunch of ugly mineral debris everywhere I walk. The idea of having boulders everywhere was an even bigger turnoff, to the point where I haven't even tried shadow rifts out. I absolutely agree we should get some protection from the vanilla pillars, they feel so weird rn without any examine quotes or functionlality. Creatorofswamps
I hope klei will add the function of earthquake protection not only from the pillars that we will build, but also those that are already in the caves
dois raios
it is a cool idea but it wont make sense. it does make sense that artificial pillars will protect against debris, but natural ones no, they were created by 'nature', and nature dont care about you XD
