Quick question about the rifts.

Or to toggle them Off after activating them..

I can’t play in the Beta but- I was playing DST with a friend the other day who kept dying and getting frustrated that every time Died, they would revive with a Blacked out portion of their health bar, meaning continuous dying made them have even less total health, and that friend was having no fun at all, it didn’t help matters that they picked Wes not knowing he’s intentionally the worst/hardest character choice.

It’s MY fault they had such a bad experience though because I had forgotten that Klei had released a World Gen Settings Update QOL that allows you to change many features of your world and how it behaves even after you’ve created the world.

So: TL:DR- I had FORGOTTEN I could’ve at any time, exited the game session, and then changed a few Settings to make that friends play time with me more enjoyable to them like changing it so they don’t lose portions of max health after they die and won’t need booster shots to heal their health bar, or changing it so the game skips the phase where they become a spooky ghost at all and instead just lets them swap characters out from being Wes.

Had I remembered these things: That friend probably would’ve had a much more enjoyable session… but my point is that Even if you DO kill CC and activate these Rifts- You can simply toggle them off in your world settings.

prior to that update for World Settings QOL you could only alter things about your world prior to creating the world, but NOW you can at any time you desire- change things and relaunch the world.

And I know not too many people WANT to toggle “Off” new content, but at least the option IS THERE for people who choose to Opt out of experiencing it.

Likewise: for players who want to experience it without needing to do the CC questline: You can simply toggle the rifts “ON” from Day 1 as well.
