With an easy life mega basing with easy to get resources and no challenges whatsoever. I legitimately do want dst to become more like animal crossing with the added danger. I don't totally mind monkey raids because I don't typically take to the high seas until I'm kitted up. However, I find there's too much that punishes you for having sails on a boat in the first place. A good amount of this game I find boils down to "I don't like this feature, so I won't interact with it." It's a bit sad. Typically, you can lose a season all because fires often aren't worth dealing with. I love tweaks that play with nature in a relatively sensible way. I'll describe hostile flare to begin with. It seems realistic to me that you can taunt a force of nature or just ruffians with an indicator to your location. Falling rocks in caves haven't been nerfed to hell as you have described when normal earthquakes occur. Feels like summer all over again where the environment itself is it's own greatest enemy. Not the biggest fan of that. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/147200-unlocking-keeping-wonkey/page/2/#findComment-1644661 Share on other sites

The worst thing ive noticed is people ask for challenges on the forums and when they get them. They cry that its too hard, klei goes "oh well we tried to give them what they want" then proceeds to nerf the challenge into easy mode oblivion. Happens every. single. time. When a claim is so stupid you can't really tell if they're genuine or just trolling Seriously, I think you're just trolling or making stuff up. How comes choosing a punishment is "fun"? Monkeys steal my stuff. If I defend myself, I get cursed. If I don't defend myself, my items can be PERMANENTLY destroyed. It almost feels like klei discourages sailing because the best strategy here is avoid sailing on the ocean. Could you explain how getting punished for no reason is fun? I'm asking something genuine here. The monkeys steal your stuff and bury it somewhere nearby on land, and if you walk around on that somewhere nearby land that spot will be marked with a clearly visible red X marks the spot symbol- get a shovel to dig back up your stollen loots. Along with anything else they may have had in their stash. This feature also actually exists with mobs that are on land.. such as Catcoons, who even are programmed to steal Wanda’s watches and carry them to hide them in their stumps, which you can walk up to to Ransack and obtain your stollen loots back out of. However this thread isn’t about pirate raids, Klei Nerfed the hell out of them to the point of being a laughable after thought you literally have to almost be intentionally LOOKING for them now to encounter them. This thread is about Unlocking & more importantly continuing to get to enjoy playing as: the Monkey character Wonkey. I know pirate stashes exist, the problem is you have to kill the prime mate for the map(and get cursed), or it would take forever to find it since it can spawn literally anywhere. If that's the only problem then I would be fine with it, but it only has a stack limit of 20, meaning if the monkeys stole more than 20 types of items the first items stolen would get deleted, gone forever. I think this was added because it used not have a limit and crashes the game when you try to dig up a few hundreds of stolen items but there could have been better solutions. Masked Koopa
I feel like it would be more interesting if the curse was a result of being greedy somehow. Like maybe if you dig up buiried treasure there will be trinkets in it. I think being turned into a monkey for piracy would be more thematically and mechanically appropriate than being turned into a monkey for successfully repelling a pirate attack. Also I think Wonkey should probably just have more perks. Sure it's a curse, but that would still be the case lorewise - noone except wormwood likes being turned into a monkey, so they'd still see it as a curse. Other than the obvious poop throwing, I think sailing-related perks could be pretty neat, as well as perhaps some unique interaction with splumonkies? I could also see the ability to climb palmcone trees and sleep on them. I do agree that you should be able to pick Wonkey from the get-go. I get that Klei didn't really intend for Wonkey to be a full-on character, but when you add a feature like this, it's inevitable that that's what people are gonna want. Plus it'd round out the character selection screen quite nicely, assuming there's no plans for more characters. Antynomity
Sure thing, I had an idea back when the update was in beta for Wonkey to be able to be picked and if you got cursed since you're already a monkey, you'd turn into a random character (that character would work like the Random option before picking a character or while changing characters with the celestial portal, a random character would be picked for you but you wouldn't know who it is until you get reverse cursed.)
