Firestaff/fire dart should become a proper combat DPS tools?

Fire dart is not even worth making unless you have too much papyrus or you are desperate for single mob distraction (like new player surprised by boss). But true problem to me is not a damage, but spreading of fire - we are stuck in one world when we compare it to DS. Well, at least most of resources can regrow over time.

Fire staff as AOE damage is nice, we lack of general aoe damage for non wendy-winona players. Fire have it own downside of being spreadable, and destroy loot, but that fine when you need to kill bunch of mobs.

Woodie and Wormwood, too. Other characters like Maxwell and Wickerbottom don't explicitly deal AoE damage, but have tools to help them against crowds.

gunpower, slime, cannon, weather pain. How ever we rarely use them in combat for damage. I wonder what happen if we fire staff a pirate raid (cast fire on the flag and every monkey), and drown them. They do repair broken boat, but what about burnt boat...

Fire staff should be used more in Ocean combat. They cc enemies, and ocean doesnt have much fire spreader, and boat is very weak to fire.
Or they should be able to instantly cook fish that fly up the Ocean to catch food.

Update: Fire staff is amazing vs monkey, they just casually stand there and die by drown and didnt drop cursed trinket (if they die by drown, not by fire). Bug?



After their main boat dead, all monkey just jump into the ocean in suicide, and doesnt drop trinket also.

So it's pretty good at beating monkeys, but with the heavy price to pay in watching the results of your actions unfold. Could you live with yourself after seeing a mass suicide caused by your own hands?

100% battle paddle still impossible to get, i forgot the bigmonkey use them to row.

I want winona to be able to make a fire turret or something now. i was surprised how strong a few catapults are against powder monkeys.

Edit: i went to to check this fire burning monkey raid and they drop the battle oars
