[Suggestion] Allow Wonkey to build Monkey huts and tame Powder Monkeys

ATM, it's impossible to rebuild powder monkey huts and/or tame them. This is fairly unfortunate, as they have some neat applications for later on (especially for resource harvesting, as powder monkeys seem like exceptional resource gatherers when they don't have a weapon equipped, such a when they come out of the portal). I feel it would make sense if Wonkey was able to build huts and tame the monkeys for his own use, which could have many neat applications (from harvesting logs from a tree harvest to picking up loot from stone fruit!)

(As for the monkeys, I do feel it would be nice if you could toggle them to give you resources they have on you by interacting with them. ATM the only way to get the loot back is killing them, which I do feel would be a bit odd if you needed to kill them just to obtain the loot, and I always found Wilbur's monkeys odd that they just constantly threw loot back at you when you didn't want to, such as if you had a full inventory.)

With Wonkey.. hilariously it reminds me of the special plants you could eat in GTA V where you turned into one of the games animals- it was fun to play as a Dog with Franklins voice being heard as inner thoughts.

I think there’s a ton of untapped potential within this type of playstyle, I ALSO think Klei obviously loves these “Mutation/Curses” because Woodie suffers 3/4 now.. he also suffers moon storms.. everyone can become Monkey- Wortox transformed from a cute fawn to some demonic looking imp, Maxwell goes through several stages of looking human to looking horrifying in Single Players adventures mode, There’s some unimplemented animations of goats becoming mermified. Hamlet blended spiders with apes & also had the whole “things get freaky after awhile” gimmick, the Hallowed Nights Science lab lets us create wacky creatures,  Carrat is a food/rat hybrid, Shattered Spiders are Spiders infused with Moonglass, Wilson’s character portrait even has him experimenting with pouring some questionable chemical from a science beaker forcefully into some poor birds throat.

My point? 

If Klei wanted to go the GTA V approach by letting us eat some magical berries off a tree that makes us temporarily turn into a Catcoon then there’s literally nothing stopping them..

And quite frankly it lets us see the game from a different point of view.. I always thought that Merms were creepy horrible monsters- then cute little Merm girl Wurt came out and it showed me that Merms were simply Misunderstood and in fact pretty awesome.

The Wonkey Curse hits the player hard with a sudden realization that- all those Monkeys they’ve been trying to kill… could have been Humans once, and Wilbur may have in fact actually been a real king/prince before becoming Monkey..

But if Wonkey is going to be a fully playable character, it should have some advantages/disadavantages.

Wonkey is very explicitly a curse for the player. Between loosing your character perks, having to pay to undo it, and; y'know; being turned into Wonkey via Cursed Trinkets. 

 

There is ultimately no reason for Wonkey to be treated as anything else. Wilbur's speed mechanics and the fact that some characters can work around their downside with Wonkey is more than enough for them.

Explain what would be different from our growing horde of follower characters. Currently sounding off "Willow, Wendy, Maxwell, Wurt, and webber.

considering their level of competency I feel like they should be able to rebuild their own homes every 5 days or so.

Not every creature is waiting to be tamed why should they follow you over primeapes or their queen? Even more so for the ones who may have been former humans who've embraced the lifestyle. Also they seem a lot more intelligent than other mobs we've faced so far so it makes even less sense in my opinion that they'd follow some random monkey.

Also as for a resource harvesting follower we've already been given that in the form our new follower Polly Roger.

Considering Maxwell hasn’t been reworked yet- I’m going to boldly state right now that they’re not going to let the former Antagonist of the franchise remain to be side-lined to “Follower” status- I fully expect the guy to get some new & rightfully deserved perks that aren’t just minions do work for him.

Secondly- Monkeys could have all new game mechanics such as being able to climb trees and obtain fruit from them without needing to chop the tree down.

Ultimately it depends on how Klei wants the characters to play.

Every character can hire either- Pigmen, Bunnymen, Rock Lobsters, Spiders or Merms (depending on who your playing as)

so every character can be a “follower” character, in fact- Wolfgang gains sanity bonuses for having more followers around him.

I like how he is now and I don’t think his puppet master trait should be removed and i think it fits into his character perfectly. When maxwell was kicked off the throne most of his power went with him so it wouldn’t make sense for him to magically get it back and a bunch more shadow magic, that’d ruin the entire point of him getting kicked off the throne
