ZeRoboButler
Although I do think that night vision is a bit on the strong side, alarmingly my biggest issue with it is the fact that the filter used for night vision is unpleasant to say the least. With were-beaver and the other transformations, the night vision applied is not heavy on the eyes, and is in fact rather pleasant by comparison. I am proposing the idea of an optional switch in the options menu to change the way the night vision is viewed by the player, most if not all other forms of night vision are a bit more easy on the eyes than what moggles or Wx's new module provide. In my case, I do not use moggles, and have not since their conception due to the fact that they tend to induce headaches, where as things light lanterns, miner hats and even my personal favorite, glow-berry mousse. I appreciate all the hard work that has been put into the reworks, especially Wx since they were my main character for years and even are the influence behind my current username.(the guest of honor left quite the impression, what with them looking like a little butler-bot) That said, I do hope this suggestion is considered. DaZoul
I am fine with it (except for dusk and full moon, that's a bit too much), BUT I did think about how it'd be better for the Circuit to have its own theme, not just reuse the moggles'. There are many cool filters out there, I'd like if it were the Cowl's blue filter, or the Froggles' heat vision, or even its own purple vibe, I don't really care, but I do think reusing the Moggles' filter is a bit lazy Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/139283-a-proposal-for-wx-78-and-the-night-vision-filter/#findComment-1559395 Share on other sites
DajeKotlyar
I think Klei can make unique night vision. Something electric, cool looking. reallychina
Yes, moggles is very hard on the eyes, especially in the overworld because of the colors. In ruins it feels very different and looks very similar to sunlight. They were designed for ruins after all. I wouldn't run moggles all the time on wx anyway but the visual effect makes it even more offputting. zaptrap
tbh I like the idea of being able to remove night vision effects in the settings menu, similar to how you can disable screen shake, distortion, and screen flashes. -Nick-
I just think the moggle circuit should cost more, Maybe even use 5 slots like the old Illumination circuit did. Go to settings and turn night off, boom instant night vision and no filter. The are some visual accessibility mods that are all client side and have no gameplay impact. They're pretty handy to turn off some filters and effects that may be bothersome to some, check it out on the Steam Workshop! I also had health issues with the filters that were used by moggles, and those mods solved the problem for me. Would definitely be great if Klei itself would incorporate those eventually in a QoL patch, as it's basically an accessibility issue, but in the meantime you can use those solutions that the community created.
