Some more loading tips might be helpful

Recommended Posts

Now that loading tips are in the game and that I've seen them all about 30-50 times each -

Spoiler

actual fact (only beta numbers, I haven't played so much since it released) :

"TIP_MOONISLAND":59,"TIP_HALF_STACK":48,"TIP_FORCE_ATTACK":37,"TIP_INVENTORY_SLOTS":39,"TIP_PLAYER_STATUS":38,"TIP_HOLD_ACTION":31,"TIP_WILSON_UNI":20,"TIP_DROP_ITEMS":50,"TIP_VIGNETTES":53,"TIP_BIND_CONTROLS":40,"TIP_ATTACK":40,"TIP_WENDYWIRLY":5,"TIP_DICEVOTE":48,"TIP_INSPECT_SELF":40,"TIP_HIDEANDSEEK":10,"TIP_HOLD_MOUSE":39,"TIP_WORLDGEN":45,"TIP_DISABLE_TIPS":45,"TIP_CHERRYISLAND":6,"TIP_ROTATE_CAMERA":34,"TIP_CHAT":34,"TIP_HOLD_INSPECT":37,"TIP_SHOW_MAP":48,"TIP_ENDLESS_MODE":37,"TIP_ROLLBACK":39

- I only though today that there are quite a lot of important things that simply aren't mentioned there. I can understand some things could remain sneaky-sneaky but that is a vast topic I don't really wish to discuss, to me knowledge must be accessible and knowing stuff like hammering the Stagehand 86 times to get something cool isn't gonna hurt anyone (expect what's underneath maybe). But I'm not even referring to these.

For example, there isn't a single tip about bosses... except if you consider those Treeguards bosses. There are quite critical ones to know about based on seasons, their spawn methods and such... I'm sure it would be cool to let know that the Antlion is responsible of the sinkholes, that they come back after a while, what's up with the deers in winter, the stuff to do with the clockwork statues and what comes next, a bit more depth on the cave content... there is fairly hundreds of things to add because of how big the game is but there are serious major missing parts some people I talked to wasn't even thinking about looking up on the wiki to know how important they can be.

So yeah certain bonus tips should come in handy, I just mentioned a few but is there any others you'd like to shed some light on (even lore) ?
Also yes I need more reading material during loadings, my pc is slooooooow.

On the Series X/S these things go by too fast to actually read.. to me it seems like a waste of time to add more especially if people on the newer faster consoles hardly ever see them, now there may still be instances where they’ll be seen such as: Continuously going in/out of a cave or rollbacks, some new loading screen tips however should include tips on how to navigate the new Craft UI menus.

Like I said in another post: unless your here on these forums reading developer patch notes… it can be a bit confusing, I didn’t actually understand it myself until I put my world on Pause Mode and then whilst the game was paused: read the patch notes to understand how I’m intended to navigate through these menus, change pinned tabs, pinned tab item skins etc..

tips that explain all of that would actually be helpful to players who don’t read the patch notes/look on wiki for information.

As far as lore goes: I hate having to search through the internet and sort through what is Klei Official & what is just Fan Fiction to find lore on the game, I would like all of that to be represented throughout the game- but since the new consoles load so fast that you won’t get to read that information- maybe put it in the Compendium? I’d like to see all of the characters Animated shorts added to the compendium page, as well as the one where Charlie & Maxwell are on stage then get pulled into the constant..

Yes they’re old trailers- but they still very much tell the story and lore of the franchise & players shouldn’t have to look all over the internets to find that cool stuff.

I would like this too, i dont know how you are gonna realize that you have to put a starcaller in the moonstone base, or that you have to put the noses and heads in their respective places (and wait until new moon) to fight a boss, or to give a canary, not a simple one but one that has to be an specific amount of time in a cage in the caves, to a boss.

People will complain saying that this will ruin the dont starve inmersion and that the fun is discovering things by yourself.

One thing is the game not telling you something so you get that great discovery feeling, and other is literally just hiding it so you cant experience that boss/feature.

In fact the people that say that this system is good probably just checked the wiki or saw a youtuber explain the content, and then expect others to find it out of pure intuition.

That is easy to find out on accident and a fun discovery.

It's a moon thing with a handle shaped hole in it and if you put anything other than a star thing in it they say it doesn't fit.

They very clearly go together and it is extremely conspicuous how the characters comment on them being incomplete when you mine them.

Smash them, make the statues as base decor since that was your only prize for all your hard work, notice the statues moving because it's a new moon, smash them again.

Projection.

I love the new tips. Especially the lore ones.

I wonder if the frequency of tips can increase based on the "days survived" the account has?

Basically, if you are new you get 80% tips, and if you are experienced you get 80% lore.
