I...huh.  At first, I thought this was about the GAME going into a new technology era, and I was gonna be like "Well of course steampunk would be the next logical step, maybe we could start harnessing eletcricity with lightning rods and Winona's engines, I dunno" but you meant seperate civilzations WITHIN the constant...

Well, to find out what race I would "be", it'd be more fun to take a quiz, but there isn't one for that.  There's D&D quizzes and What Type of Mythological Being/Monster Would You Be? ones, but on those I tend to get "elf" or "centaur"; neither of which exist in the Constant.  So I guess it's...off to Random.org!

Okay, I'm a...goat-person (I'm down with that--the Victorian-esque but ramshackle society they seemed to have in the Gorge was cool), and for government/society type I choose "agricultural" and "democratic". Some of these I don't quite get, like what is a "Transformational" ruler type, exactly? I don't actually want to rule ANYbody, never have--but there isn't a "none" option, so I put "new races" because at least that way I would be ruling over...something that doesn't actually exist yet in the game.

My ACTUAL playstyle is pretty much:  Pastoral leave-me-alone-and-I'll-leave-you-alone human, but hey.  : P

1. be a pigman

2. give other pigs common goods so they will trust me

3. find a bunny men's village to rule over

4. find Webber and Wortox

5. make bunny men not attack them or monsters without being attacked first ( some might still hate them but not attack them )

6. make bunny men not attack meat-eaters ( some might still hate them but not attack them )

7. introduce them to other pig

8. make the pigs not attack merm when they are friendly ( some might still hate them but not attack them )

9. make bunny men have pig culture

10. world peace

Uhhhh....NO.  Uh-uh. Don't like this one.  It sounds an awful lot like conquering or forced assimilation.  How 'bout,

9.  "gradually get bunny men and pig men to RESPECT each others' cultures"

10.  world peace

Maybe for your _individual_ version of the Constant, sure, but not like, in canon.

But hey--in the "Civilization" games I tend to make lovely democratic clean-energy societies with good infrastructure and health care, beautiful monuments, etc.--that then get taken over by those who DO give a fig about their military, so what do I know...

Spoiler

(although often the smaller towns right up against my border will join me _on their own_ because my culture is so awesome; so, the "kill them with kindness" tactic DOES sometimes work...)

Why do people think that culture is super important to protecc anyway? I understand that forcefully applying it would suck a bit, but if someone adapts something from another culture, or just doesn't bother with their parent's, why would you care?

Transformational leadership is a leadership style in which leaders encourage, inspire and motivate people to innovate and create change that will help grow and shape the future success.

lizard

the lizards dont rule, the dragons are

culture is about how the lizards are related to the dragons, and protect them if any danger comes, and lizards that have done an great deed may get a blessing from the dragons, and the lizards are able to use medival weaponry as well as magic, the lizards are friendly, as long you dont attack them or the dragons of course

i myself would make peace whit the others, showing that the dragons are not bad at all to have, whit there power and wisdom guideance

Well, I don't wanna get super political about this but it already is anyway:  Ask any native population that's ever been colonized.  The ones that are still alive at all, that is.  Why is culture important to "protecc"?  Because it is.  Because diversity is important.  Because letting people be who they are (as long as they're not hurting others!) is important.  Because what the FRICK, man, are you guys all hostile conquerors or something?

also pigs just have more privilege we got king and queen, a DLC after us, a playable character, and superior to other races in every single way possible, tell me what the pigs lack?

The right to rule over everybody else just because they have more "civilization".

It's not what the pigs lack.  It's what the bunnies HAVE:  Their _own_ culture, which shouldn't be wiped out just because it can.  Again, what is WITH everybody in this thread and "JUST KILL THEM AND TAKE IT ALL OVER, MINE!  HA!"  Seriously?

NO I'm not fricking budging on this.  Ever.  It's like, my entire life philsophy.  _Don't freaking FORCE others to be like you_.

That's what we call:  The Borg.

...or colonialism, whatever.

Also:  "they got more privilege" is also a problem.  Those with less privilege, should have more.  As much as the other people.

So as long as it's not forced it's okay? I agree then.

"Bunnymen" don't always have the tools to fight off against "civilization". Not everyone may like it, but that's just how it is.

I should be more clear, It was written from a pig's perspective it is not what I actually think on the subject, I thought it was clear but I guess not, from a pig's point of view bunny men is strange they hate and don't eat meat like the merm, they got no culture, and are all dumb, from that point of view they think every race are weird and filthy while not noticing their own hypocrisy, value their traditions and culture more than other barly accepting of other merely tolerate player and only follow them because of foods.

My name is Mumsy Don't Starve and I will drag these crying ape people into a glorious golden age with a fist of iron and the shining beacon of high society.
So shall this Constant know the wrath of a fallen people.

The reckoning is at hand.
