Hey y'all. It's time to close the books on my latest playthrough and I decided to stitch together a hi-res image of the map. Check it out here. (warning 90mb image)

When I start a play I pick a colony goal, max number of dupes, how the colony produces food and oxygen. For this one I chose 16 dupes fed on bbq with electrolyzers for oxygen.

My goal was to test out a slime digestor I designed. It worked well and I ended up with about 500 tons of ceramic after turning all the slime on the map into clay. (plus whatever random polluted oxygen I filtered.) I have a few tweaks that I'll apply for the next game. You can find it below my main dupe habitat with the printing pod.

Then I decided to muck around with a dedicated ranch module (left of the polluted water tank). I built it, but decided to stop playing before it really got spun up. Shout out to @tuxii for their dreckapod, which I built but also never got going. Gonna build this ranch module as the colony develops next time instead of an add-on.

Is it standard map size ? Actually playing mostly on MiniBase, and last years on Fuleria (by Pholith), which is reduced size, I forgot how big the Vanilla map is.

This one looks tremendously big. Which could be something when you consider how much the game is in pain even with reduced map size.

Now you've got me thinking... Is it better to let Slime sublimate into Polluted Oxygen, or put it in an Algae Distiller?

If you go for Polluted Oxygen, you can use a simple containment area with a single Deodorizer to produce a good quantity of clean Oxygen without much of a power investment. You just get a bunch of leftover Clay afterwards.

Algae Distiller, on the other hand, directly gives you Polluted Water and Algae. The Algae can be used for Oxygen production, or with Fish Feeder and Pacus to get vast quantities of Egg Shell for Lime production. The Polluted Water can be used to irrigate various crops, or even turned into clean Water along with some amount of Polluted Dirt. The Polluted Dirt can then be processed with a Sublimation Station and a Deodorizer for clean Oxygen. The Water can in turn be fed into an Electrolyzer for Oxygen and Hydrogen production...

And now I'm thinking, if you want to maximize Oxygen yield per mass of Slime, is it more efficient to use a lone Deodorizer, or an Algae Distiller + Algae Diffuser + Sublimation Station (optional) + Deodorizer + Electrolyzer? One gives you Clay, the other gives you Clay and Hydrogen.

You got me going.

Slime -> Distiller -> Terrarium -> Oxygen

This produces a little bit less clay and a little bit more oxygen. It's more power and heat intensive though. (I haven't looked at SHC shenanigans to delete heat yet.)

I'm confused: how can there be a Water Sieve and Polluted Water evaporation?

The algae terrarium needs water, but not all of what's produced by the distiller.
