This is just frustrating at this point

Recommended Posts

I have been playing ONI for quite some time now but I never really got into rockets. I've been attempting it more lately but I am running into a really frustrating problem. Wth is with the stupid atmo suits?! If I disable the checkpoint the dupe operating it drops his suit and leaves it even though they haven't crossed over the checkpoint and are still standing behind it. Any time they have to do operation with the checkpoint they do it. I've tried all kinds of ways but still no matter what they drop their suits. Then they walk away and I have to sweep them up. It's getting really frustrating having to sweep them every time because sometimes if I reassign it right away they still walk away from it. I just don't understand how they work. I can't figure it out. Also when my pilot is in the rocket and he's in space with nothing to do he goes back to the checkpoint inside the rocket and takes his suit off, docks it and stands there until he has a task. Then he puts his suit back on. Why can't he just leave it on and not stand at the checkpoint? :hopelessness:

If you are talking about a checkpoint right after the rocket's door, does it look like that post?

Actually it's just the opposite of that. I want him to wear a suit while inside the rocket. when he's idle he always goes to the checkpoint and takes his suit off and stands there. The more frustrating problem though is the dupes that drop their suits when I enable or disable the checkpoint. They aren't crossing over it but still drop the suit.

They do have the tendency to idle behind the checkpoint. I had some oxygen masks in space... where they found it the most appropriate location if they had nothing else to do. Suffocation alerts all the time... But I don't know why dupes choose to do that :???:

it was a post, when one player offered the method you are looking for.

I borrowed his idea and now I have dupes wearing atmosuits in the rocket and when they run out of air they simply go through the checkpoint and hang the suits for oxygen refilling.

Just simply revert the design and have one tile where the dupes can stay while the atmosuits get filled with oxygen.

Like in the spoiler below.

I see. I tried that but gave up on it. I found it easier to just pressurize the interior from an oxygen tank on the rocket.

I believe it is intended behaviour. Mostly for scenarios when a dupe finishes his task while in atmo suit and has no other tasks. He goes to the checkpoint to take off the suit so he won`t waste oxygen in the suit just idling. Was a sort of a fix for dupes wasting resources in base. It doesn`t work too well for dupes in rockets though.

I find that quite plausible. Dupes do go back into "non-suit" territory if they have no tasks outside, making "no suit" the default and "suit on" restricted to "there is an active task where reaching it requires putting on a suit on the way there".

Hey everyone, might I use this topic to ask this (probably stupid but I can't find the answer) question : how do you check on your modules (battery charge, cargo load) when in flight ? :)

i don't think it's possible to do so

EDIT: I stand corrected

For cargo load, you can see it on starmap. Just click on your rocket and it will list in bottom right corner.

For battery, you can click power output in your spacefarer. It will show the circuit power consumption and other information.

If you mouse-over the container text there, it should in addition list what is in the container in a floating info-box.
