Gouflax
Hi, During my attempt to make a setup with waterfalls, i think i discoverded a pretty interesting application. On the topic of Mathmanican, he explains that the waterfall can let flow liquid every tick (left) or in an intermittent way (right). During my tests, i realised that the intermittent waterfall can pump the gas from a bottom room in a top room. Here is the setup. The two rooms are open to each other and the gas is evenly distributed. When the water starting to flow, it create an half waterfall and the gas start to go in the top room. After a few moments, the bottom room is empty, and a full waterfall is created. You can now turn off the liquid vents. The two squares with water will block the gas. When the quantity of gas in the bottom room is very low (under 10 mcg), the full waterfall appear too early and let few quantity of gas in the bottom room. In that case, all you need to do is to close the three liquid vents, reopen the two vents on the side, then the one in the middle, and the pump process will restart. Therefore, this setup has a weak spot : it doesn't work with a multiple types of gas to pump. If you try it, the second gas will stay stuck on the middle vent square (see below). zach123b
one of the guys i watch on youtube uses the waterfall / liquid displacement stuff a lot. he's doing 1g/s with the valves if i remember right. the liquid just vaporizes but it moves the air up interestingly. the airflows on the bottom are near vacuum while the airflow tiles on top had around 7kg when he moused over it. not sure if it makes enough o2 but it seems like it is for him with 7dupes. i do feel like this is an over engineered o2 maker though here's the episode he does it in but he uses exploits freely and doesn't make many videos. later on in this series he makes a 2kg/s oil geyser/generator through exploits Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/134108-waterfall-gas-pump/#findComment-1500595 Share on other sites
OxCD
Except if I'm missing something, but as I get it the mechanics have been highlighted long time ago by @nakomaru Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/134108-waterfall-gas-pump/#findComment-1500645 Share on other sites
nakomaru
We've made two tick bead pumps in a variety of ways, but I haven't seen this particular one before (haven't been active for a while though). It's easy to set up, as fast as possible and has no pressure limits. Very nice! Have you found the minimum valve settings for this to work with water? No. I just setted the liquid valves at 1000g/s on my setup, but i didn't tested the find the minimum setting. In my opinion it can be way lower.
