Add the Root Trunk to the Green Thumb tab?

Recommended Posts

Wanda's fancy and elaborate crafting tab has made me jealous  and ive always thought Wormwood's tab was pretty bare-bones, especially in Hamlet where his Bramble Traps cant be used against bat waves. Mind you this is coming from someone who never upgrades to the Houndius-style hound trap and keeps using Bramble traps and bramble armor well into the "late game". I also make more living logs and Compost Wraps than i know what to do with just to make use of Wormwood's crafts

The Root trunk seems to me like a perfect addition to Wormwood's tab. ive had this idea since the RWYS WW beta tuning. Obviously there are no bramble blooms in DST but i wont get into the specifics of the potential recipe although Lureplant bulbs are the most obvious alternative in terms of season-bound rarity etc.

Id love to see anything new besides the root trunk too, especially stuff that is more connected to the DST world, Bramble Husk and Traps have always screamed Hamlet to me. Recipes that are perhaps gated behind the celestial altars for example sound very interesting (Like walter's cursed ammo and pseudoscience), at least that way there would be SOME link between all the DST lunar content and Wormwood who was literally birthed by the Moon itself.

Edit: i forgot to mention, Wormwood lost his Poison Balm recipe when he came to DST without it being replaced by anything so his tab has gotten even more bare-bones in dst.

Joke's on you. Wormwood is already a fighter. :P

for that i never shared the opinions behind that topics

outside wanda, wormwood, in my eyes, is already one of the most complete, fun, balanced, complex and well designed character after rwys

As someone who has only been able to maintain his RL sanity through 7ish Celestial Champion kills due to the Bramble Husk's ability to decimate mutated birds, I am saddened to see it and the Bramble Trap be constantly dismissed. :(

Root Trunk is great and all, but I don't think it's the sort of structure that should be exclusive to any one character.

Im not dismissing them though. Like i mentioned in the topic i try to use them as much as i can. I have also used the husk against the moon storm birds and the traps to farm hordes of bunnymen and splumonkeys in addition to using them against hounds waves which i gather into a tight group before i run them into the bramble traps for a quick combo kill with minimal triggered traps.

Klei doesn't seem to like porting content from DLCs. Last time they did it was for the wobsters

Yeah root trunk was just an example of something ive been wanting to see in the game for a long time. I also never imagined it would be a 1:1 port with the same sprite and all, just a structure with the same functionality and botanical theme.

Doesnt have to be exclusive to WW either i just thought it would definitely fit into his tab.

My point was that id like to see the Green Thumb tab filled just a lil more as i find it sparse in its current iteration, especially considering the removal of poison balm.

For me this could also be somewhat achieved by new general crafts that use living logs, like new celestial crafts for everyone that use LL.

Because they're garbage

A ornery beefalo with a war saddle can clear them easily. An item that forces you to take damage to activate has horrible synergy with Wormwood. Other characters get more use out of it and I hate that, its repulsive. Why do Wormwood's exclusive crafts have such horrible synergy with the character.

Wanda gets a unique weapon to keep her from getting damaged.

Wormwood gets an item that has garbage defence, garbage attack, garbage durability, and a garbage gimmick for garbage niche uses.

People that say "HeS BaLAnCed"  don't use the character long enough to know these items are so outclassed by so many things.

Why is Wormwood "BaLaNCed" but things like Wendy's craft tab, Warly's food, Winonas crafts, Wanda's crafts all get unique effects and synergies with said characters. Wormwood just gets a speed buff, a aoe hound trap, and a niche use armor.

That was... very powerfully said  im inclined to agree though.

The bramble husk requires 40 hp to make and then further HP loss to make actual use out of it. Ur also forced to use it alongside at least a football helmet but preferably a thul crown so the husk doesnt break in 5 hits because of the pathetic durability or u dont take a billion damage because of its equally pathetic 65% protection...

i remember a long long time ago i tried to kill BQ in a creative world with a ton of bramble husks as a sort of imitation wendy but it failed horribly  they just break too fast

ive always thought the bramble trap should reset on its own since its a pseudo living organism. But tbh i never really understood why Wormwood got this trap consdering how useless it is in Hamlet, his own DLC. The only horde type enemies it can be effectively used against are like... swarms of lady bugs and a group of snaptooths chasing you. But lady bugs are better dealt with the insecticide for instant KO and idk why one would want to farm small snaptooths...

in DST ive found it quite useful though especially against shadow splumonkeys for their amazing loot and against late game hound waves, if u group them up before running into the traps u can kill them all with like 5 bramble traps or less

——

bramble trap should auto reset

and Bramble Husk should periodically trigger the aoe when worn by Wormwood in combat at a cost to durability. Also increase the durability and/or make it repairable with fertilizers or give it a slow regen when not worn.
