Matrix811
I play dst with my friends pretty often and I generally host the world for everyone. We've been playing on one world for quite a while and we really liked the seed and map layout. Today, just as we were supposed to play together, as I opened dont starve, the game acted as I would open it on a completely new device with no previous data. Then when I went to host game I noticed that there are no saves. It looked like all of my data for dont starve has just literally vanished and I have no idea what happened as I did not delete anything by myself. Please let me know if there is anything i can do to restore it, its such a shame and a waste. Cliffford W.
DST save data is not saved in the cloud it's saved locally only Forge and Gorge data is saved in the cloud. All your data is lost and its not recoverable. Blue Three
The files shouldn't just disappear though. OP must have done something that resulted in this. By default, your save data is in Documents\Klei. Duck986
Almost all DST data is saved locally, so I recommend you to make backups of your worlds next time. Cheggf
If you opened Steam/Don't Starve in administrative mode (at least if the admin account isn't the one you're currently logged on as) or the beta branch it won't have the same files. If you did either of those, undo that and open it normally.
