Baguettes
I'll just say you got real lucky with the world gen. These gens are.. well, not so rare, but still quite a sight to find. Dr. Safety
I hope this world gen possibility is just a "happy little accident" in Klei's eyes and they don't have any plans of fixing it. It's rare enough to be worth how powerful it is. So long as it doesn't miraculously cause any bugs (with my limited knowledge of programming I certainly wouldn't rule out any possibilities), I think it's cool to keep it. BezKa
It's just Klei changing tiny little parts of the game without us noticing. Soon, mainland and Lunar island will always be connected. Then, mobs from lunar island will wander and kill the ones from mainland. The dead ones will transform, and destroy everything in their path. Charlie will bring out defences, and full fledged war against the moon will start! CaptainChaotica
To me it doesn't seem any more freakish than blending the two deserts into one, or humorous things like the Pig King being right next to the Dragonfly's lava pools. I think it was just a legit accident of land masses being too close to each other. Or it could be a sign of a little codelet that still needs tweaking, such as when the Oasis was first put in. When it was put into already-made worlds, sometimes harmless-but odd things would happen. In my case, the game code looked at the area, saw a bunch of birch trees, and interpreted that as a mini birch _forest_ biome. So it did this: (The catcoon's actual lair was technically into the sandstorm area. Poor kitty. : P) I think the lunar island being connected is just a happy little accident, like the above. (This has never happened again, by the way, so apparently they tweaked the code that says "If this many birch trees, spawn this.") OR, we could be looking at a full-on invasion of "Rocket Zombie Hounds from the Moon!", who knows. : P ...Notorious Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/127969-whats-up-with-lunar-island-being-connected-to-main-land/page/2/#findComment-1439078 Share on other sites
Does
Definitely seems to just be an odd worldgen quirk, really interesting that the archipelago seems to be right on top of the birch forest too. Seems like a fun seed to work with though, PK and Lunar right next to each other is pretty wild.
