Simplest Sulfur Geyser Tamer

How do you start this thing?

The easiest way I think is to bridge water onto the exhaust line to pipe it into the hot chamber to get things started. Just do it slowly (guess with a valve) so you don't solidify the sulfur in there.  Luckily, the whole thing is dupe accessible so they can dig things out if necessary.

Wouldn't this delete water/steam cause of petroleum dripping?

Steam used to be deleted before on some setups when dripping on top of liquids, when dripping on top of window tiles, when dripping on top of metal tiles, when dripping on top of airflow tiles and besides typing all this I stopped testing that many variations. But dripping on top of regular or insulated tiles did seem to help.

This is because:

  • Things have been patched around and now I'm not getting more instances of vanishing steam that I can recall. Specifically after the update that upgraded FMOD component of the game. (I use an automated notifier in the most problematic build)
  • I've made play sessions shorter (combination of circumstances.)

This uses less material, but I would consider your previous build "simpler".

I like the slit steam thing and have used it on many builds, but the more I look at the two styles of builds, the more I wonder:  What is the practical difference between a split steam turbine and just splitting the steam output (with a valve) and running it through radiant pipes for targeted cooling?? It seems like the split has a few disadvantages:

  • you have to block at least one port, cutting the cooling potential
  • you have to figure out how many ports to put on each side?
  • it seems pretty sensitive to the amount of steam (thanks to weak pressure sensors)
