Can't see/travel to planetoids

Recommended Posts

be aware if you use the rocket\telescope approach, you'll need to DECONSTRUCT the telescope once you get to the location (with unexplored, nearby hexes), then build it again. Otherwise it won't work (it defaults to the location where it was built, so it'll assume everything is 'explored').

This is a temporary solution, it looks like the devs plan on having a module for the rockets that allows you to survey nearby hexes.

How did you do that, i block at the first three planetoid. i can't explore more the place from the planetoid.

i want to see the other planetoid

Start a new game. They changed the worldgen to make the planetoids closer.

Flydo you don't have to start a new world if you don't want to.

You can fly your rocket to near the edge of your unexplored space, then deconstruct\rebuild the telescope inside the module.  Then your dupes can explore another two-hexes out from their current location.  From there you should be able to discover more planetoids.

yes i try it but i don't have ioresin to make insulation for the upper part of the rocket, just playing in survival without sandbox or debug mode

The way they phrased that causes a lot of confusion. You need a material marked as insulator not the "insulation" material. Ceramic works for the nosecone just fine.

can confirm, i thought that i made a mistake but i can't see them either. Did the update not remove the exploidy part of scanning in the dlc? This confuses me alot.

I have already started the new game (after Sulphur volcano update) and can confirm that outer 3 asteroids are 4 cells away. It means you cannot see them from telescope installed on any 3 planets of inner circle. You need to - as already suggested here - fly CO2 rocket to two cell from the orbit (or 3 if you count from the planet) and then REBUILD telescope inside the pilot module and now you can reveal further 2 cells away.

Ok i understood but to use the spacefarer module that allow me to build a telescope inside, i need to make insulator first to make a basic nosecone. But where in the three asteroid could i find isoresin (or insulator i can debuild)?

Could You, please explain it to me how to reveal the surface of an asteroid for rover landing? I have two asteroids revealed on map but I see the surface of the farther one where I am unable to reach yet. However, I reached orbit of closer one and I was unable to deploy rover.

I think sometimes the view gets a bit ...funky. Try navigating with mouse right click-hold or WASD. Or hit alt+s (screenshot mode) and zoom out all the way to see where the surface is. First time I tried landing a rover, the game zoomed in the right bottom corner of the map (pitch black..). If it's not that you could check if the rover is actually loaded (usually there is a yellow/orange warning before launch if it is not loaded) Hope it helps ;-)

Thank You. I was looking on sides and moved a little bit up but not enough. My screen was somewhere at the bottom of the asteroid!

you do not need isoresin for that. In fact, there is currently no isoresin in the DLCed game in the normal mode.

You may use ceramic as the insulator. Ceramic = clay from filtering polluted oxygen + coal (plenty on the teleport asteroid).

BTW, you can build telescope in one pilot module also. See below

oh thank you really much, i forgot ceramic is insulator too.

You save my game

PS: not need anymore to deconstruct reconstruct the telescope ;)

we had a bug with CO2 not going to the landed spaceship. Now the problem is gone - whenever a ship lands, CO2 starts flowing to fill in the rocket tank.

The cluster map is in the spoiler. As I do not provide the seed number it is not much of a spoiler. Just to show the distance you may need to travel to. I guess you are one cell shorter (the ship can go three cells away from the planet or two if you count from orbit) if CO2 engine.
