Szczuku
Klei has finally decided to take a look at the old content and overhaul it. This update feels a lot more special than our regular content updates. That's because this update is bringing the community and devs even closer together. Almost every beta hotfix is a result of community's feedback and just seeing Klei listen to us is really wholesome 100. Not to mention that there have been made some great suggestions. For example that super growth formula should trigger Wormwood's blooming. Working on old content's overhauls must be an interesting experience for the devs, since the community is experienced with the old content and can therefore see if the changes are good or not. And that creates this sort of teamwork that we see unfolding right before our eyes. Anyway I'll be happy to see more old content refreshed in the future. Cuz y'know... I've made like 10 threads related to that. MrNaxeros
I still remember reading all the suggestions back when DST was in closed beta. Seriously the entire ghost mechanic, the gameplay modes, the Charlie taking over... There was so much stuff that just went into the game. Klei turned our wild ideas into a playable and fun mechanics. I mentioned it numerous times but this is one of the reasons I have so much respect towards Klei. I can only hope that the rough waters that are refreshes of "the holy trinity" will go smoothly-ish... Maxil20
I’m definitely giving klei points on listening to the community. There are a lot of things that were tuned because of community input, and I respect that a lot. There’s even stuff the community requested months ago that managed to sneak in, like the lazy forager change. Overall, I’m very happy on how the farming rework is going. It’s already substantially better, and I appreciate the devs for going out of their way to create something unique, and yet visit a mechanic that was lacking in content. Szczuku
A thing I'd like to expand upon are the suggestion sprouted (pun intended) from this update. Suggestions about characters, in this case- Wormwood. Those are both great and kinda bad. Great cuz... well they can help flesh out a character. Bad cuz it's extra work for the devs. Ultimately if the devs did make a habbit of coming up with new character quirks if they fit the update, then I think the game would benefit from that. I actually think this makes a lot of sense, Klei can look at what they’ve added to the game already and what they plan to add later and then can make changes to the character cast as they add these updates. For example to all the players crying Wigfrids Fireproof song is mostly useless- You have absolutely no idea what new biomes, mobs or even worlds Klei has planned to bring to the game, you haven’t got a clue how many more mobs that can cause fire may be added to the game. (especially seeing as Summer itself is pretty Meh and has needed a rework for quite some time.) The Stagecraft song may seem useless now- but imagine how useful it will be when/if fiery mobs become the norm.
