Make the cookie cutter cap have a thorns effect.

Considering football helmets exist and pig skin is way easier farmed then cookie cutter shells, why not give the cookie cutter cap a practical use to make it worth crafting? Heck right now it's just a battle helm with slightly less protection and slightly more wetness resistance.

The thing is, this cap looks rather spiky right? So why not make it similar to shipwrecked's cactus armor where when enemies hit you with melee attacks they take thorns damage equal to a spear(34).

It just feels like this helmet could do with some kind of buff like that, and I figured a thorns effect would make it more useful, it would at least fit with the hat's appearance of being spiky..

First of all, the Cookie Cutter Cap does have 1 advantage: it's got higher durability than the football helm (525 vs. 315), which means it makes a better durability saver for more valuable body armors, such as the Night Armor. (Whether the cookie cutter shells drop enough to warrant regular use is another matter entirely.)

Second of all, I'm pretty sure its lack of any special qualities is intentional, since "cookie cutter" is synonymous with "unoriginal".

To be honest the durability doesn't mean much, also I feel the body armor thing isn't a very good arguement since most players just do helmet + backpack. Also if you have the celestial portal you can switch to wigfrid and use rocks + gold for battle helms which tie the cookie cutter cap in durability and give the same 80% armor as the football helmet.

Also I liked the idea of the 70% armors being 70% as a tradeoff for their special property. The bee queen crown is only 70% but its special property is it reverses insanity auras, the bone helm is 70% but its special property is making nightmares neutral to you(and also being a great head item for moon island), the scalemail gives 70% but gives both fire immunity and lights your attacker on fire. I know all of these are boss items but I still feel like the cookie cutter cap deserves a similar benefit for the tradeoff, especially considering in order to get alot of those caps it takes alot of cookie cutter shells.

For a while I thought cookie cutter shell did have thorns, but I must have just seen someone who had bramble husk and cookie cutter cap on at the same time and I didn't notice. I'm on board with it. It should have a thorns effect for the sake of it.

Thorns would be nice.  I think the cookie cutter hat  just exists if you are out sailing for a long time and didn't bring the football helmets.
