Tzunki Posted March 3, 2020 Share Posted March 3, 2020 Hello everybody, Despite my 670 hours of play, I never got to the end game. I always play with "everyone is welcome". I get a new dupe every 3 cycles, unless the material reward is very good. Because of this, my colony always dies in midgame for various reasons. In my current colony I only have one opponent at the moment, the FPS. But I can live with 20 FPS and moon walking dupes. But now a few questions have arisen, which unfortunately I cannot answer. Unfortunately, search rarely gave good results (or more likely that I did not search properly). A) My oil biome has an entrance with suits and a lock. I would like to build a second entrance at the other end. Do the Dupes get it sorted with the suits or do they have 30 suits on the one hand and no more on the other at the end of the day? B) I don't understand the XP system. An activity is assigned the corresponding skill. Mining more increases mining skill, as far as clear. What influences the "normal" skill level. Every Dupe XP gets by time, by activity, by loved activity? What does science affect? On both XP values? C) I currently have over 100 dupes (and increasing). I would like to build a jet suit, but according to old forum entries, the FPS breaks down properly. Is it still like that? D) Stack the different vending machines. I currently have soda dispensers. How many dupes are covered by it? Since my first Dupe is unfortunately provided with all skills, they are currently more on the massage bench than at work (moral deficit). A drinks machine gives +4 morale. Soda and espresso would give 8 or only 4? Atmosuit checkpoints have clearance setting that can prevent dupes from exiting from it if there is no dock for their suit. It is more efficient to have each dupe capable of doing 1-2 jobs, and it would take about 3-5 skill points to learn all necessary skills for it. After that, just ignore them. B After the job update, I don't really know and not seen anyone test it but it seem like everything reward xp maybe even stay still. C Not sure D If they give you different buff they stack else it refresh duration BTW you can reset your dupe skill And Keeping your avg. decor high can reward you up to 12 morale. In this particular game, every extra dupe is another mouth to feed and another precious resource drain. It's very easy to keep 3 dupes alive for a long time as wild food and renewable resources will easily keep them going. A pretty good colony size is around a dozen, so you can run good construction projects without demanding too much infrastructure. An upper limit towards late game is closer to 30 dupes, after all the major industrial backbone is set up. Quote B Check out the Skill and Stats progress mod. Last I checked, a dupe gains job XP over time by working most of their jobs. Split up your base extensively, so that dupes have extremely limited path options. That means only letting a handful of them access outside the base or access the jet suit docks. Sasza22 Posted March 3, 2020 Share Posted March 3, 2020 A) As mentioned above with set to vacancy dupes will not be allowed to exit from the side that doesn`t have place to put the suit. B) I`m pretty sure that the skill levels are affected by learning. High learning dupes should get them faster. But they need to work to get progress. I`m not sure about specifics though. C) Normally dupes move on flat surfaces and it already hits the performance pretty hard. Jet suits quadruple the amount of paths a dupe can take, especially if it`s open to space. I fear that with 100 dupes your pc might slow down to single digit fps if you build those. But for smaller amounts of dupes (12-15) it`s still playable. D) All the different recreation activities stack so yes you can get +8 from soda with expresso. I don`t remember the exact times each activity takes but remember you can change your schedules. If each batch of dupes has a break at different times more of them can use the same recreation stuff. Also some of the buffs last up to 3 cycles so they don`t have to use them too often.
