Hey Grifters!

I'd like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who's been participating in the experiment! Based on your feedback, we've fixed a bunch of bugs in the fight, and added some quality of life stuff to the experiment itself. 

Let's see how you all do against Kashio now :)

  • Filtered the experiment decks to those that were made in prestige >= 2 (this should improve the quality of the testing pool)
  • Added a quick way to reroll an experiment deck
  • Show active social boons/banes in the experiment intro
  • Add graft slots as needed to show all installed grafts in experiment
  • Added a quick feedback button at the end of the experiment 
  • Enabled metrics in the experiment (oops!)
  • Removed the bleed from Kashio's Glaive attack
  • Fixed description of afterburner gloves
  • Macro Rasp and Afterburner Gloves now correctly check for defended and evaded
  • Morale on Kashio clones is now the same as Kashio's no matter what
  • Health on clones is set AFTER conditions are applied to prevent discrepancies
  • Fixed bug where Kashio didn't re-prepare her turn after applying conditions in sal_kashio_fight_test.lua
  • Fixed bug where Kashio clones would get an additional kashio_glaive condition
  • Macro Rasp and Afterburner Gloves no longer apply if the attack is defended
  • Fixed bug where Afterburner Gloves didn't trigger

We're going to be continuing along with fixes and balance stuff for the existing experiment, and probably adding an additional negotiation experiment later this week.

Time to see the true power of Afterburner gloves

 

Edit: So Afterburner gloves applies Burn. Personally would still much rather prefer Burn cards over burn status on Sal since guaranteed damage annoys me, but compared to Bleed, Burn is sooooo much more manageable so Im not complaining too much. Havent seen it on a Kashio with extra attacks from Suitcase/Blast Chamber or counter from Sonic Pistol, so I cant say as to just how horrible it can be.

 

Side note, sometimes the real Kashio does not respond to her Holo Clones dying. Would enjoy if her quips were guaranteed, but as it stands Holographic Projector seems fine after the bug fixes.

Seed 1578965163 for another guaranteed turn 1 kill. No idea who's the one that manages to trash 80% of their starting deck, but they've got my respect. 

New Macrorasp is still a bit much. If you get hit close to the shuffle, that's 3 bleed cards into your draw pile, likely clogging your hand, and making it impossible to get enough defense to protect yourself for Kashio's next attack, and back to case 1. You're essentially dead the moment she draws first blood. 

 

EDIT: On the pistol and its 4 counter: it might be good to spend some time examining the mechanic, because currently it has no counterplay, aside from stacking counter yourself. Previous enemies that have counter only do so every other turn at most, so it wasn't made as apparent that this is problematic.

It's somewhat problematic as a player ability too, because it works against almost everything (enemies with piercing being the only exception that comes to mind); but at least for the player, it comes at a cost, since a counter deck gets considerably worse when allies come into the scene.

Also now, she only applies burn if damage is unmitigated. It now is basically increase damage by 5 if unmitigated and screw up some combo stuff.

It seems that since the update, kashio can easily have 3 attacks every turn if she has both the suitcase grenade and the blast chamber. That seems very broken and can end a run quickly.

Something else: it's relatively painless to take away one of the item artifacts to prevent Kashio from using them, and all of them are reasonably useful and good value. The grafts are trickier, because you need an open graft slot to use them, or else you have to give up one of your previous grafts (unless the campaign will give us the option to take a graft artifact and just throw it away). This is doubly tricky because many of these grafts are preeeetty weak. Blast chamber is great of course. However Dermal Plates, Sage Conversion, Hammerthyst Ring, Afterburner gloves, and Macrorasp (a worse Snap Talon!?) are either not something you want for the very last fight of the campaign, or straight up bad. +36 hp from Sage Conversion would be a solid choice, but from the sounds of it we are unlikely to be at max resolve right before fighting Kashio, and once you're looking at +10 hp, that's just a fancy Robustify (one of the worst common grafts!).
