Bought Mega Pack for PS4 but only has DST

I am aware of the printing mistake that occurred, which is why I can only play DST at the moment. However, I found that out until AFTER my game came in the mail.

 

I bought the game from someone on eBay and it turns out, I only have DST available to play, and I guess Klei stopped giving vouchers to people who bought the game from a third party seller. Because of that reason, does that mean I’m completely screwed and can’t get any of the Mega Pack content? :/

 

EDIT: I forgot to make this edit sooner than I should’ve, that’s my bad. I got a refund for the game and I’m being allowed to keep it as well, so even if I don’t get the other content it’s fine (: Just wanted to know if it was still possible or not. Carry on!

Why would you buy a mega pack on eBay on the first place? You got scammed buddy, you should have bought the game in the PS4 store, or if you can't afford it, then shouldn't have taken a risky decision.  You're screwed.

To be completely honest with you- almost ALL of the content included in the original Don’t Starve Mega has been added into Don’t Starve Together, the ONLY things your missing is the Shipwrecked DLC and the Single play story I mean uhh Adventure Mode (a campaign across 5 randomly generated worlds) 

however all of the playable characters, and for the most part: gameplay content is included in DST. 

DST is also the only one that allows you to unlock cool cosmetic outfits to deck out your survivors with.

DST includes all the mega pack DLC Content, Reign of Giants, A New Reign, with the exception of Shipwrecked.

Shipwrecked on the other hand was a completely different type of dlc that allowed you to craft boats and sail the seas, but even that is slowly making its way over into DST in the form of the completely free Return of Them & Turn of Tides updates.

DST is also the only version that allows you to play with up to 6 players.

 

the TL:DR version of this post: As long as you have Don’t Starve Together you have the best possible DS Experience.. 

And hopefully sooner rather than later- all the Shipwrecked Content will find it’s way into DST as well.

Didn't you forget the Hamlet DLC?

I would also argue that RoT is Sw in DST, there are fundamental gameplay differences, not to mention the mobst, items, seasons etc. Even boats are very different in the both games.

Hamlet is NOT included in the Mega Collection on PS4 and Xbox One...

in fact- Hamlet isn’t available to purchase on consoles Period, it only exists on Steam.

and I said Shipwrecked Content IS NOT in DST... but It probably will be, we got Warly as a playable character, I’m sure the rest of the SW cast & Mobs will make their way into Return of Them eventually..

Because from what I can understand of RoT, it’s a major update that’s being added to the game one patch at a time- the updates will continue throughout 2019-2020 and include the following-

4 brand new playable characters, (Wortox, Wormwood, ???, ???)

Character Reworks for the entire Original Cast to make them more unique and fun to play as (we’ve already seen Willow, Winona, Woodie get theirs)

New gameplay features, crafting recipes, enemy mobs and more in the terms of World Content updates.

(Return of Them: Turn of Tides, Return of Them: Salty Dog)

Shipwrecked is a pretty huge thing to miss out on, though. It's my favorite part of DS and where I spend most of my time... which brings me to the next thing you said:

This is 100% false. RoT is not at all similar to SW, aside from the very very basic concepts of the ocean and boats.

Even excluding Hamlet (which isn't on consoles yet so doesn't really count here), DST is still missing Walani, Wilbur, and Woodlegs.

1.) the guy had legit thousands of trusty reviews.

2.) I assume the mega pack had everything on the disc upon factory deliverance.

3.) it was only $8 compared to the usual $20-30 which I could’ve afforded but sometimes you wanna try and find ways to get a game and save money at the same time. I did the same with Persona 5.

I was only asking a question, and you approached in a way that would’ve kicked me while I was down. Maybe I could use an adjustment in my critical thinking, but you can use a major adjustment in socializing, friend. A simple “You’ve been scammed” would’ve fit your comment just nicely. While that can be a relieving thought to think about the content being included, the games function differently in some mechanics, such as night being shorter in DST, although that isn’t a problem. What IS a problem to me about DST is that the mobs have higher health than DS, a key mob being the precious Koalefant. Also, I can only play alone anyway since I don’t pay for PS+. However, having the co-op function there in case anyone I know irl wants to play is also good. (: still, thank you for your nice and detailed response!

So you got DST for free because of the seller refunding you and you still want Klei to give you vouchers for a game you technically didn't pay for, since it was refunded? I'm confused. Use the refunded money to purchase said content for yourself?

I got the refund after posting this, but I saw that t already got comments so I didn’t bother to remove it. And still, DS along with RoG is $18 as a bundle. I didn’t play much Shipwrecked to care about buying it, and with SW included it’s even more money. I’m using a gift card I got from some people at some place and I have specific plans for that remaining money whereas buying DS + the dlc for more than $8 would alter the plans quite wildly. Once I finish one of my college classes that’s a lot of work, I’ll find a job so I won’t have to be so strict anymore when it comes to finances. (:
