Brocca
Why can't I use my hard-earned (spool and bought) skins in offline mode? I don't have internet every time so playing offline is the go-to for me.

fimmatek
Because the game needs to verify that you own the skins, that needs you to be logged into the Klei servers and for that you need internet connection. There's a way however to receive and use skins while offline, however, unfortunately that works only with pig skins... Btw, back to serious, I believe it's enough if you have internet only when you start the server. If the net goes away you can continue playing. I'd like if someone could confirm this tho. Fuffles
because it would be an easy way to abuse it, seriously the game wouldn't be capable of telling if you own a skin or not, then its just a simple console command and you own the skin
ADM
It's because they are Steam Items. So without internet you can't reach them. And it's the same for unlockabke Characters like Wormwood and Wortox so there is (to me, I'm not a specialist) no exact way to make this possible without the Steam servers avalide, cause it could be very easy to mess with files and unlock what you want on a client only session

Brocca
Thanks, everyone with the help. That makes sense to me and I understand.
Canis
DST is inherently an online game, and that brings along the inherent flaws of an online game. If you want an offline experience, I suggest Singleplayer DS + DLCs.

I tried using some hehe commands and luckily the stuff's game engine sided ( and command to change skin works only when you OWN the skin )
