Even while their butts are red?

If you wear a Beefalo hat Beffalos with red butts won't attack you.

The problem is that you need a beefalo horn to craft it, which is only dropped from Beefalos. So you need to kill at least 1 Beefalo in order to craft the Beefalo hat. Unless you're lucky and find it next to a skeleton

if you're feeling good enough i would kill one out right as usually you can kill one before winter if you lure one from a herd

also don't be afraid to use mods geometric placement is a needed mod

AND MEME LANGUAGE IS GOOD MOD

I am wondering if I'll get to kill one before Winter

You could run up, smack one, and when the heard chases you, run. When they start to de-aggro, smack one, and run again. Eventually you'll only have one left behind you and can kill it.

if you don't have the beefalo hat when their butt is red (in heat), they will attack you right away.

But if you do have a beefalo hat, you can feed them grass and twigs and do the attack like I said on the post

If ya wanna make a beefalo cry, craft a razor. Then build a campfire near them and by nighttime, shave off that wool. ;)

It's easier to shave them while holding a torch/lantern since you can move and shave a few herds in one night; campfires make you very limited in movement.

A few herds in one night! What do you do with all this beefalo hair??
