Research screen is actually harder to use now

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the update today and attempt to fix it, however now i have to zoom way out to select techs on the far left or far bottom. Problem is i can't read them there so small.  Yeah i'm playing in 4k and my ui is set at 150%, before it was a pain had to stay zoomed in and move around but i haven't played enough yet to memorize the techs so i can't tell what i am picking now. Thanks!!

My experiences with the research tree are pretty negative so far.

Zoom values on the research screen feel poorly chosen to me. Either I'm zooming too close to see the tree itself, or I'm too far to read any particulars.

Tree can be scrolled by holding either left or right mouse buttons, but using left button frequently results in accidentally switching current research which is super annoying.

Already researched techs are displayed with white background - and specific objects are also displayed with white background. This often makes it very difficult to understand what parts are already researched and what parts are simply full of stuff.

Finding what branch is currently being researched is pretty hard as well, it doesn't stand out in any way.

Try this:

Zoom all way out

Point mouse to part of research you want to see.

Using mouse scroll zoom in

This way screen should automatically zoom and center where you mouse pointer is. Will that work?

Yeah tried this works for most of the research but still can't get to the left side or the very bottom techs unless i zoom all the way out, thanks tho!

Ok it looks like devs already working on this so it will be resolved.

In case you want to check something - i took screenshots of full research tree (didn't bother to take rocketry stuff as you can access it)20190824083825_1.thumb.jpg.062f9b0ad4ff284d0b106f1aa6005e51.jpg20190824083838_1.thumb.jpg.f02cf97b768234ae65dab61dae9f5b45.jpg20190824083848_1.thumb.jpg.2039b277b3169826e1656075a4e57f6d.jpg20190824083902_1.thumb.jpg.47be7813a6afef6a9c23bf33a4e34f17.jpg20190824083909_1.thumb.jpg.74a9cf599461568f0dffb003b52dcecb.jpg20190824083912_1.thumb.jpg.0533f4f788e3952c9bb40085a0067b40.jpg

I don't really know how to respond to this ;) maybe this way - pick one:

- no, screen doesn't center to pointer

- no, left side is still not visible,

- no, you help is useless as it is workaround not actual fix of the problem

It's a known bug. Whole interface is effed up when you use scaling. Planets/research etc etc.
