Why we don't have air critter capture trap?

Recommended Posts

I mean, air critter lure is among THE most useless buildings in the game. It is literally easier to wait until puft will lay an egg and then hatch it in a destination room, rather than build a chain of lures, which does not guarantee that puft will no go to some other side of the base again.

What is the reason behind forbidding air critter capture when we already have air creatur hauling from incubators.

Yes, I was wondering how to move the pacu fish the portal gave to my base. Short of a destructing my base in the  shape of a giant column to drop fishes way down in a pool. And not forget to build a pool. :)

They end up in filet, what a shame.

I think the original idea was not to have ranching at all, but to indirectly nudge the critters where you need them to go.  Hatches and swimming critters could be herded with a little creative pathing, but air critters couldn't, thus the PITA lures.

Since ranching is now a significant element of the game, instead of a cute diversion, they really need to make all critters wrangleable.  The lures would still have a use in pulling fliers off the ceilings of tall rooms, but some maps not having gold, slime, etc means we really do need to make industrial use of them.

I think with all new asteroids and biomes, where some resources are not available, and only prob obtainable through ranches, they should make critter trap available, something like a moth lure but allow for wrangling or even a small net (ironically the icon for wrangling looks like the kind of net you would use to capture airborne creature / insect net, and yet we cant do anything to the airborne creatures)

Ive seen a behaviour where spawn pacus from Pod actually tend to move to the closer water source. I accidentally drop water on the bottom of my base and made a pond on natural tile and the spawn pacus tend to jump to that water pool than to the other direction.

I do however agree on dupe being able to transport pacus out of water, although I can see how it might make fish trapper rather obsolete.

That is the only effective use for it, and arguably an unintended one.

Am I imagining things... or did they completely remove this type of lure in the latest patches? (launch upgrade)

I can only see the single-use airborne lure now...
