Well, yeah, it is possible, but you'd have to recreate a lot of what the modded skins api does already. And there's not really much benefit in doing all that work when it's already done for you. We're waiting on that sweet redux they're gloating about. To the topic, it's possible, nothing is forcing you to use the API, but it's just hard to do skins without it. It's kind of like... Eating soup with a round rock. Not impossible, but not recommended, ya' know?
