Help! slimelung spreading in oxygen!

Recommended Posts

i've recently dug into an area with slime containing slimelung, and the slimelung have begun spreading into my base - through pure oxygen. they dont die, and they multiply, even though there's no slime or polluted oxygen.

in this picture i've marked where the slime area begun, and as you can see, they're now inside my base. there's only oxygen, and some carbon dioxide, all slime is stored outside of base.

Check if there are germs in the pocket of CO2...those stray packets could be keeping the germs in the area reproducing.

You can try planting a Buddy Bud which should help clean out the area.  Maybe build an airflow tile so the CO2 doesn't hang around the germy suits on the docks.  Maybe disinfecting the area can help speed that up.

The slimelung will die off in oxygen but if there`s polluted oxygen nearby it can migrate from it to clean oxygen. I think that`s happening in your base. If the airlock won`t be opened too many times the inside of the base will be safe (lock it for a while if needed). Make sure there are no random polluted oxygen pockets in your base (use the F4 overlay).

As mentioned buddy buds do wonders when it comes to stopping germs from entering your base. They are better than deodorizers. Just plant one next to your exosuit docks and it will work as a barrier for slimelung.

You most likely have a flow of polluted oxygen into the area in question. You won't really notice because you clean it into oxygen. The result is a constant flow of oxygen with a higher slimelung count than what you have, hence why the number is increasing even if the slimelung is dying in oxygen.

Get rid of the p oxygen source. Remove all polluted water bottles (if any). Spam deodorizers inside the slime biome. This will decrease the slimelung count in the air flowing in from the slime biome. Add an airlock to reduce the passive flow from the slime biome. It's not eliminated, but if it reduces the flow enough to allow the slimelung to be killed by oxygen, then it's good enough.

Also, check the germ overlay for tiles with slimelung and wall them off.

Tiles with slimelung will not pass it along to the air. They only pass it along when they are mined and you have slime giving off po2.
