S19TealPenguin
It seems that the number of Vampire Bats spawned is quite excessive, especially considering the warning period is a minute at most Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101963-too-many-bats/ Share on other sites
Machine Reaper
you can lower them from World Gen. and they are easier then hounds so not that difficult. S19TealPenguin
Hounds are much easier IMO, especially because tooth traps work on them. -Variant
Lowering bats in the settings gives them a cap, and so does increasing them. Which means once they hit a certain amount, they won't go over the amount, like Hounds. However, unlike Hounds, leaving bats on normal will make them capless, so in theory, they can reach up to 10000's of bats per wave one day. Rather odd. Rather odd. someone must test this out, like on day 500 how many bats will there be? (I'm guessing 30 bats aa the least) 2 hours ago, S19TealPenguin said: Hounds are much easier IMO, especially because tooth traps work on them. yeah but not in great numbers, they also have fire and frost versions which do give you gems but can cause some bad stuff. specially fire hounds. axxel
Considering bats loose aggro fairly often after running away (no circles!)Â they become manageable in small groups. I think DST worms are the worst, period. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101963-too-many-bats/#findComment-1145016 Share on other sites

S19TealPenguin
Worms are tedious, but they make up for it with their drops. 3 worms will give you 12 monster meat, which (assuming you have 36 filler) will give you enough meatballs to last 10 days. The glow berries are nice if you want to lower your sanity, at -10 per berry. 10 sanity isn't a lot for most characters, but if you're playing characters with low max sanity (Webber, Wilba, WX no gears), it can be quite good. Beardy Wilson
What I do with bats is either run off away from them until they lose agro or run around in the pig village and let the guards pick them off. I don't think they ever attack at night. But even if they do and houses set aflame they gonna rebuild those houses, even your home can burn down but they gonna rebuild it and everything will be there like it was before it burned down. Tumalu
Yeah, I build 9+ guard towers to deal with the bats. They get annoying in big waves. I'll see a streamer fight and only get attacked by one at a time so it's fine, but then I try to fight in the exact same way and I get absolutely trashed.
