Wormhole to Island

I feel like it's kind of rare. I've only encountered it twice maybe and that was when I was new to the game, died and lost the world. But what can be done with them? What would be a perk to base on an island? I know hounds and giants will still spawn on the player so I can't really think of a good reason to base on an island. Curious what people do with them.

I like to make them into a moleworm farm for rocks or spam spider eggs as Webber for easy drops since the queens can't go far.

Sometimes people build base on them just for the novelty - as you said, they're very rare, so it's just a fun thing to do. If the island is super small though, that doesn't work out so well. I've also seen people make them into their "panic room", or the area where all their toothtraps are.

I remember my brother being utterly invested in finding one of these for a week. He was creating world after world, using the GetWorld cheat, sighing in disappointment when no island showed up, and proceeding t kill his character until he finally fund an island. He would then spawn a rather awesome base into the island, complete with farms and arranged rather nicely.

Though, I swear, I got tired of listening to Maxwell's death noise hours upn hours on end...

The one I have is to small to make a decent base on.

Also that sounds even worse than doing the same thing for a reed trap.
