[Possible WIP/Idea] Survival horror mod

Alright.

I had some awesome ideas while thinking to myself, so I decided to come up with something awesome, that I may personally try to undertake, once I finish fiddling around with my Webber mod.(Art is a pain).

That aside, I have come up with some ideas, and then I will allow y'all to suggest ideas too.

So:

 

This mod will add a few "Dark Creepy Science" machines, like the Meat Grinder, Abracatastrophator, and the Doom-Magic Altar.

 Here is a list of stuff I came up with(keep in mind it is a literal spoiler, too, so be warned...kinda.:

Machines:
Meat Grinder
Abracatastrophinator
Doom-magic altar
Clockwork Cataclysmer
Meat Grinder-
Crafted with 4 Boards, 4 Morsels, 4 gold, 1 gear, and 5 dark petals.
Raises danger by 1 pt per craft.
Crafts:
Meaty Minion-
Crafted with 4 Mashed meat, 4 mashed morsels,1 Deerclops eyeball. and 1 nightmare fuel.
-will follow player
-mild sanity gain
-when at low health, will become lump of meat and tank 95% damage until health regenerates or it dies.
100 health
meats out at 30
deals 15 damage
does not eat
Flesh helmet
Crafted with 4 mashed meat, 2 mashed pgskin, and 1 nighmare fuel.
-health regen when worn
-Absorbs 1000 HP total
-will regen at a slow rate of 1% every 60 secs
-IS BREAKABLE, absorbs 85% of all damage.
Flesh Casing
Crafted with 4 mashed meat, 4 mashed morsels, 2 nightmare fuel, 2 tender tendons
Worn on body
same stats as flesh helmet, except with better regen
drains 5 sanity/min
Sinewed Fleshy Gauntlet
crafted with 4 tender Tendons, 3 mashed morsels, and 2 mashed meat
Deals XX damage(check wiki for damage values), regenerates at same rate of flesh helmet, but will drain health by 5 each time
drains 5 sanity/min
Is breakable.
Meat tree sapling
crafted with 1 pinecone, and 5 mashed meat.
Will plant a meat tree. 
Meat trees grow one meat every 7 days.
ignores winter, max of 3 meat at any time
Mashed meat-1 meat/monter meat = 1 mashed meat.(restores twice the health of cooked meat, but -15 sanity when eaten
Mashed morsel-1 morsel = 1 mashed morsel-restores twice the hunger of a cooked morsel, but 5 sanity penalty.
Tender Tendon- 1 drumstick (raw) = 2 tender tendons
 Max hunger increased by 5, 20 sanity penalty.
Abracatastrophinator-
4 boards, 4 gold, 4 gears, purple gem, 1 nightmare fuel.
Raises danger 1-5 points per craft
 
Recipes:
Doom-magic altar
10 cut stone,10 thulecite, 10 nightmare fuel, 5 red gems
Contructs the doom-magic altar
Instability-20
Danger detector
1 gear, 1 nightmare fuel, 1 thulecite, 1 thulecite meter, blue gem
Shows level of danger. If over 50, it will break, turning into Broken Danger Detector
Instability-5
Everburning candle
5 gold, 10 honey, 1 honeycomb, 1 rope
This is a bit impossible, no?
provides light of pumpkin lantern, can be placed, never goes out...except when DurkLurk is near.
Instability-15
Proper pickaxe
5 rocks, 3 twigs, 2 rope
Grants dapperness, lasts longer/stronger than Pick/Axe,
The gods are not pleased
Instability-20
Proper Axe
Same as proper Pickaxe, functions as axe
Proper shovel
Same as Proper Axe and Proper Pickaxe
Rare materials are all craftable at Catastrophinator. These include:
yellow/green/orange gems-18 instability
thulecite-20 instability-may summon the minotaur
thulecite shards-10 instability
gold-5 instability
gears-20 instability-may summon the Clockwork Counterbalance
nightmare fuel-20 instability may summon Blocky Horrors
Krampus sack-20 instability, may summon wereKrampus
blue/red gem-15 instability may bring winter/summer, with deerclops and/or fire hounds
Catastrophes
 x/21 chance of something bad occuring, also based on material.
 if x = 20
Creature or creatures are summoned near altar, includes ClockWork Counterbalance,Blocky Horrors, minotaur, and WereKrampus, or uninvited residence of tentacles/merms
if X = 15-19 
Lesser stuff, like frog rain, deerclops attack, season change, spider swarm, spitter swarm, batilisk swarm, bunnymen attack, nightmare imp
if X= 10-14
still lesser, heated beefalo, hunting party, some cave stuff, splumonkeys, slurpers, hound attack, flesh lump infestation
if X=5-9
A monster spawns. That's it. And heavy rain.
if X=1-4
spooky ambience/sanity loss/danger increase
Doom-Magic Altar
Demon-Guardian tome-
5 papyrus, 1 reed,5 thulecite, 10 red gems, 5 hounds tooth
must be called at night during full moon, otherwise...
if at day-what you summoned bursts into flames +5 danger
if at dusk- Demon is summoned,+10 danger
wrong phase-Demon is summoned,+5 danger
Right phase-Demon Guardian is summoned, +1 danger
Clockworker's handbook
-5 gears, 10 papyrus, 1 reed, 1 feather
Must be used at dusk, otherwise ingredients wasted and danger increased by 10.
5 usesn decreases sanity by 15 each use
Successful usage spawns 5 random broken clockwork minions
Canadian guide to beast-calling
 5 mashed meat, 5 papyrus, 2 nightmare fuel
 must be used at night, otherwise, no effect.
 If used at night, will increase danger by 20
 How to dance:the raincaller's guide
 10 papyrus, 1 umbrella, 5 frog legs
 5 uses, calls rain on use
 Treasure rain-
 requires 1 of each color gem, 1 gold, 1 thulecite,10 paper, 1 reed,
 the earth shall shake, and treasure will rain from the sky
 2 uses-calls above on use,must be raining.
 
 Clockwork Cataclysm-
 Uses-10 gears,  purple gems, 5 nightmare fuel, 2 ground morsels, 5 tender tendons,10 gold, 5 thulecite,crafted at doom-magic altar
 Can be upgraded to three tiers with gears
 spawns clockwork mechanics which keep the player away 
 Crafts:
 Tier 1: Clockwork vest
 10 gears, 5 gold,  5 nightmare fuel
 absorbs 10000 damage
 -dapper and defensive.
 Automatically repairs itself 1% every 60 seconds, + 1 health every 120secs
 -5 sanity a min dapperness
 -tick-tick-tick-tick(bonus, will occasionally chime when struck)
 -95% damage absorption
 Tier 2:
 Clockwork gauntlet-
 crafted with 5 gears, 10 gold, 2 mashed morsels, 5 nightmare fuel
 20 uses, repairs at 1 use every minute(5% used each time)
100 damage per hit
 Clockwork helmet-
 3 yellow gems, 10 gold, 5 gears, 10 nightmare fuel
 absorbs 10000 damage
 does not repair, instead, loses durability to regen health
 emits light, brighter than miner helmet, no fuel needed
 5 sanity/min dapperness
Tier 3:
Geared drill
10 gears, 5 nightmare fuel,5 gold, 1 Proper Pickaxe
infinite pickaxe
Geared Chainsaw-
10 gears, 10 hound's tooth, 5 nightmare fuel, 1 proper axe
Infinite axe
Steam shovel
 10 gears, 10 gold, 5 nightmare fuel. 1 proper shovel
 infinite shovel
 cool animation?
 Goggles of ethersight
 20 nightmare fuel. 5 gears, 6 thulecite, 5 gold, 3 purple gems,magiluminescence
 Player emits light, can see true horror,including grue and pelontrix
 lasts for 5 days
 
Danger levels:
1-4=meh, nothing happened. Guess I'll keep grinding!
 
15+-mandragoner will scream in the night
25+-Flesh lumps will spawn naturally
35+-vile bush will ocassionally spawn
40+-spiky bush will occasionaly spawn
45+Durklurk will begin lurking in the dark-groans, puts out some light sources, but not fires. This includes night light.
50+ danger detector will go "pop", creepy music will always play,hyper spitter queen spawns in the depths
55+ Stalker will wander among the trees at dusk, ghosts will rise at the full moon
65+ Beefalo go into permanent heat, hear the howls of the grungeling in the swamp
75+ Grungeling has become the grungeler, will go out of the swamp to satisfy its craving for flesh, zombies will rise at the full moon, blocky horrors spawn with regular ones
85+Werekrampus spawns instead of Krampus, always
95+ Evil terrors are invisible, will devour your pickables. Can only be seen with
googles of ethersight
100+ Rapture occurs. Hell opens up, and demons will spawn from demon rifts in the earth. Pelontrix and grue will also join the party-only visible with goggles of ethersight. Rapture busy/fighting/passive music will play.
 

Monsters

 
Monsters:
Mandragoner-A mandrake with many faces. Will scream when seen, drops 5 mandrakes, respawns every 10 days,high sanity drain when close
Flesh lump-will occasionally spawn tiny tentacles where it lies. Drops 5 mashed meat, 5 monster meat when killed, moderate sanity drain
DurkLurk-hides in the dark, will follow player, drains/puts out non-fire-based light sources
Stalker- like slenderman, will swipe for 20 damage if you get too close, spawns near trees,immortal
Nightmare imp-will follow, chatter, and laugh at you, has 1000 health, and drives you insane. Also looks creepier when sleeping. Will spawn likeness when attacked
Grungeling-invisible noismaker, spawns in swamp
Grungeler, like a harder koalefant, except aggros on player, drops 5 meat, 5 monster meat, 5 nightmare fuel, and 5 hound's tooth on death.
Deals 35 damage, has health of a worm, slow regen of 5 hp/day
Clockwork counterbalance- is like a clockwork spider queen, a shambling mass of machinery,spawns clockwork pawns to chase the player
twice the health of spider queen
Hyper spitter queen-
Breathes flames, spits, and spawns spiders. Will appear in the depths when spilagmites are broken, /summon item dropped by spilagmites. Drops persuasive spiderhat, a reworked spiderhat that does not drain sanity and adds night vision 
Clockwork mechanic-
These wrench-heads know nothing of love or fear. They fix and fight all that coes near.
Demon-spawn of the underworld, 5000 hp, will occasionally block damage, deals 100 damage in a single swipe. Drops 10 hound's teeth, 2 red gems, 5 monster meat
Grue- only visible/spawns when Goggles of ethersight are on- will seek player if player aggros, immortal, deals grue-level damage on hit.
Pelontrix- will occasionally appear for a few brief seconds. Sooon....
Blocky horrors- They came back from the beta-with creepy 8-bit music.
Evil terrors are invisible, will roam around, nomming your pickables. Pretty much, a dark gobbler that fights back and hisses.
Vile bush- a creature that looks like a berry bush, will randomly spawn near others, drops 5 berries and 5 poisoned berries that deal 25 damage when eaten.

 

both will have same name, but xxxxxx

 

Suggestions by you guys that I may add:

Sacrifices at Doom-magic altar lower danger level

At some danger levels, mermfolk will spread to pig houses,or spider dens will spontaneously appear

danger levels rise over time?

Any suggestions? I intend to plan this out so it is EPIC. But I may need some help of any budding modders or artists interested,too,for reals, as I have school(as everyone else does), and would hate if the modders died(ceased to help/work) at an inopportune moment.

 

THIS IS A POSSIBLE WIP MOD. I HAD NO IDEA WHY I NAMED IT THAT WAY, BUT IT'S KINDA A MIX of a request for feedback, an announcement for a thing I will be making maybe, and a suggestion. Sooo yeah.

EDIT: I think the proper name for this thread should be [CONCEPT], not [POSSIBLE WIP/IDEA]

Ok so,

Danger level could affect the whole world on higher danger levels, and danger level would keep rising automatically after certain point.

Perhaps hard to implement but here goes.

Spider dens can grow out of ground during night. All spiders would become spider warriors, Beehives transform to killerbeehives.

Hounds would become stronger. Rabbit holes would spawn Bunnymen.

Longer dusk/night and never ending full moon. Swamp biomes could spread and "decay" pig houses to merman houses.

 

Danger level could be lowered with mass sacrifices.

Or maybe with a large food tribute.

Spider dens appearing out of nowhere...I dunno. The Abracatastrophinator willl be the main machine, as it gives free resources in exchange for causing evil stuff to spawn. It will work like the thulecite altar which spawns things when hammered, so I guess spider dens could work.

The never-ending full moon and longer dusk/night could be a cool idea, but I have no idea how to implement that.

Lowering the danger level...hmmm... I never thought of that, I just wanted to add more and more evil things in the world up to rapture level(where danger = 100)

But yeah. The sacrifice thing sounds awesome!

I like it a lot!!! I'll give you ideas as I think them up, if it's any help.

Alright! I kinda went "ham"(huhu pun) last night and wrote up a giant list of ideas. I will see if I can attach them to this post when I get to it. But any others will be appreciated!

I reallly like those ideas, especially the swamp spread and pig houses decay.

Hello again i thought up some more stuff.

Meat grinder could also be used to grind other stuff than just meat. what i was particulary thinking: dark petals into dark powder, an alternative version of nightmare fuel. Regular flower petals could be grinded into (err ummm) "the other powder and stuff" which could reset food spoiling.

Also Living armor.

- Lets say about as strong as log armor

- Durability can be restored by feeding the armor some raw meat.

- Feeding the living armor x amount of monster meat would transform it into:

(Uhh err) Bad Armor mc evil.

- Restores its own durability!

...by consuming sanity.

- Cannot be unequipped.

- Could be removed somehow. Perhaps feeding it vegetaples would damage it, and by rapid firing good old greens to it would cause it to lose all of its durability thus getting rid of it.

 

And one idea more.

Decoy Wilson. Created from meat and something something.

Attracts monsters attention, and when the enemy gets too close for comfort...

The decoy starts running away.

A perfect distraction for killerbees, for example.

Lets say 100 danger = bad stuff. Therefore until 99 danger free stuff.

And a way to prevent it somewhat. Lets say 50 danger = danger starts rising automatically. And to balance it: the sacrifices.

 

But just wanted to clarify things no need to implement or like them.

Swamp spread...Don't starve has no such thing as turf spread, so that would be hard for me to implement.

Go take a look at the original post, I put most of my ideas into it. The decoy might be okay, but that's what the meaty minion serves as.

The living armor is known as the flesh casing and flesh helmet.

unremovable armor...How about a monster like the slurper that latches onto your body instead?

Yes monster that would attach to bodyslot would be pretty cool honestly.

No prob, they probably weren't there yet. The bodyslot thing sounds too unoriginal. also, like the slurper, it would probably only attach when no armor or anything is on, but people always wear backpacks/hats/armor. Although someone could be caught unawares.

I also have a suggestion: The goggles of ethersight should give every mob nightmare fuel puppetstrings dangling from the sky as a sign of 'them' controlling the world around you.

Well then, the quotes don't seem that bad! I may even use them if I manage to get to making this mod! However, the puppetstring thing is beyond my capability to create. Any other ideas?
