Art Student vs Artist

I have an artist who is still creating crude artwork.  I would assume, like all other jobs, that they get the perk as soon as being assigned the job.  But I will try again once it's mastered to see if it works differently.

edit: I've only tried with marble statues, and I notice in the OP that the artist and art student both seem to create crude marble statues.  Seems a bit weird to me, is there no mediocre marble statue available?

I`ve seen only 2 variants on the marble one. Maybe not implemented yet.
