Kabrute
Anyone else having issues with dupes constantly exhausted or sleeping in weird places? Especially in exosuits omg Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/97746-dupe-issues/ Share on other sites
Sasza22
Yes, seems to happen since last upgrade. I see dupes exhausted randomly. I assumed it was due to exosuits and low athletics but it happens even to trained astronauts at times. I`m not sure what`s causing it. Seems to happen randomly. Once i even got my scientist fall asleep while doing research. crypticorb
I believe it's a base optimization problem. Once breaktime hits, if the dupe is too far away from the base, they'll hike all the way back, do all the breaktime activities, bathroom, eat, and THEN sleep. I've seen this happen and kept track of specific dupes, and what happens is they don't finish all off-work activities until the night is nearly done. The result is they lose more stamina than they gain from the short amount of sleep. Eventually they'll just pass out wherever. Solution: one additional break time slot, or make travel from remote builds back to base faster. KittenIsAGeek
Yeah, I've had that happen as well -- they skip sleep to party if you don't give them enough time to get back to the base and socialize before bed time. I was thinking of installing a tube launch to do just this but its the exo suit issue that has me held up. one of my dupes was literally at the door to the exosuit dock, headed back to base when she turned around and started back down the ladder with plans to go sleep next to the entrance to the oil zone. I couldn't believe it and just took a break Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/97746-dupe-issues/#findComment-1106182 Share on other sites
Craigjw
It would seem that dupes want to party party party... Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/97746-dupe-issues/#findComment-1106405 Share on other sites

I couldn't believe it and just took a break I figured out a partial workaround for the problem. Comfy beds restore stamina significantly quicker, so if you can speed up the rate at which dupes get back to base by just a bit, it can make enough of a difference. One way to speed things up is to only use exosuits in areas they need to use them. After I've secured an entire biome or a pathway, I flood it with oxygen, and only use exosuits at the endpoints of the tunnels, such as for sleet wheat farms, into space, and into the oil biome. This significantly speeds up returns to base from workpoints at the end of the day, even more so if you put tiles down for the 25% runspeed bonus. Kabrute
Data Spacestation.sav I haven't installed comfy beds yet but this is the setup that is having issues. Run it for 2-3 cycles and you should see dupes having trouble. Gurgel
I have seen it, but rarely. I still use and will continue to use cots at cycle 3400 or so. What I have done is have one bathroom-slot, then one downtime slot, followed by three sleep-slots and another 3 downtime slows. That works pretty well. One major problem your pathways are having, the 1/2 ladder spacing is faster for initial construction, but horrible for speed, as the hopping animation takes waaaaay longer. This part absolutely isn't helping, this construct will take a huge amount of time to traverse. Spoiler Replace it with something like this, it has perfect gas and temperature isolation. You can replace the 3 doors with just one door with no automation if you want to simplify it further. If you don't need perfect gas isolation, just use the 3 doors. Spoiler I'd recommend straightening out this section, make it a single pathway with a horizontal door intersecting the ladder. Spoiler The rule of thumb I use vertical descents whenever possible, and tiled pathways everywhere horizontal. This means you can take full advantage of firepoles, which ignore the slowing effects of exosuits or crap skills. It's also critical to avoid broken paths or stairs, as it heavily impedes movement. Fast movement is even more important because if they have to travel in low oxygen areas, delays can cause them to pause to find oxygen, completely breaking the task and dropping any materials. PhailRaptor
One thing that helps tremendously with point-A-to-point-B is to avoid stair steps. Dupes really don't like going diagonally, whether it be a single step or double step. It's much faster to go horizontally across and vertically up or down instead.
