Sasza22 Posted October 19, 2018 Share Posted October 19, 2018 There are scenarios where you end up connecting more than 2kW to a wire knowing most of the stuff won`t be on in the same time. Now imagine if you had a sensor connected to the powerline that would activate above/below a certain load allowing you to disable parts of the power grid and prevent overloading. This way you could save wires that are hard to access or prevent overloads in rare scenarios when too many buildings need power at once. Right now I use something like this for my bases (ignore the power using machines, they were just for testing). The battery is set to standby=100, active=99. It isn't perfect, but it can detect an overload and shutdown part of the machines. Sometimes the wires are still being damaged, tips are welcome. But you can at least set the time how long the blackout for the other machines (here the gas pumps) should be.
